Hi! Did you check the FoV? Claims to be 170degrees. Can you confirm that? Just asking because my X20C claims to be 170as well, but is only 110. Need 2 cams to have the same view like a simple GoPro4 ;) I use it for windsurfing and instead of a full picture with a GoPro, I have neither a head nor legs :D

isnt the 3200 x 1800 crop due to the EIS, what are the resolutions of the files recorded without EIS? Im guessing the sensor isnt large enough so It has to crop into the 4k image size to stabilize.
I also thought it is, but doesn't seem so. It is the same at 4K 60 FPS where EIS is not available. Guess they did something with the firmware wrong - because the hardware probably supports that without issues.
From the off I noticed your video was all over the place and you where only walking. This isn’t even in the same league as the GoPro. A shame really because I was hoping for a cheap option with stabilisation on. But great video ....
useful, very. there seems to be quite a lot of sheer dishonesty with these chinese camera companies. My cheap "Apeman" 4k does interpolated 4K only. Interesting that its record time prediction for 2.7 k & 4k are identical, to the second! Seems you need to expect to cough a full £100 minimum to get a cam that delivers genuine 4k even at 30fps, (which would do me fine). 60fps at that res just fills up cards all the faster.
Sure - there is no color grading on the action camera footage. I usually don't color grade actioncam footage, unless specified otherwise. So it is as natural as it could be - most of it shot in auto mode.

The "problem' I have with these cameras is the huge file size they produce. Even at the lowest resolution and fps, you may expect a 200Mb file for a 1 minute video. SD card size is not a problem, the problem is transferring and editing huge files of several Gb for 10-15minutes videos. The reason is the cameras shoot at very high bitrate (not to confuse with the frame rate), at close to 25,000 which cannot be adjusted. In comparison, your cell phone will rather use a bit rate inferior to 10,000, producing much smaller video files. The 20mp value is achieved with interpolation. Usually when you take a photo - it is being captured with the pixel count of the sensor; For example - the old SJ4000 cameras have a 2mp sensor, and the photos taken are 2MP, although the software can turn them into 12MP - it is a marketing game;
This conversation, many years ago: A group of amateur photographers talking, I heard this "If they ever come up with a 3 or 4 megapixel camera under $1k, only then will I consider going digital".

The video quality is acceptable for a $99 camera. What's not acceptable is the is the deceptive marketing. I'll avoid this one and probably go with a competing brand for that reason.
This cam is a pos because it has audio and video sync issues most of the time as pointed out by other youtubers. I just filmed around 100 gigs worth of family content and all of it is out of sync. The internal mic is crap too. You're better off paying a little bit extra for a decently equipped phone with 4k60 capabilities.

Yeah - looks like it. It is not only Chinese brands that use such tactics; Plenty of cams claim 4K support, and on paper - they seem to do it; truth is however that either the sensor or the processor won't support that. Campark have released the V30 which is true 4K and performs really well.

Well - the price is really attractive; I guess for that money it is alright. Has a lot of features, works good, however you've seen about some of the issues noted. ANd I still have no response from the support team about firmware updates, which makes me a little upset.

The AKaso V50 Pro has a slightly outdated sensor - and this brings quite a lot of noise. But is good. Maybe a little more polished than this one. The hardware does support 4K, however I also was not too happy with the 4K as mentioned. I am sure you will make the right choice and end up with a camera that will please you. One idea - the SJ8 Pro is nowadays dirt cheap (still a bit more than the Elite) and with superior hardware. Make sure to get it from a place where return policy is respected as there are troubled units though.

You can try a different kind of card.
Try recording in 1080p 30 fps , and use a basic class 10 Sandisk card.

There is no such accessory, but you can find a lot of such bands online.

The external mic was connected to an external recorder as far as I remember (Zoom H1). ANd looks like the camera is no longer being manufactured.

I don't think it is 170 degrees... They claim it, and that's diagonal FOV and with stabilization seems to be way less...

The Campark V30 is in my opinion the better one. Quite similar to the Akaso V50X. Both are great for the money.

Nah, that's why the Hero 7 costs that much. There's a lot of processing power needed for decent EIS;
The Osmo Action costs right now around $300.
What external microphone was you using for it?
I used A.Lav external mic + external recorder (Zoom H1)

Tough. The Moment 6S has better stabilization, better 4K @ 60 FPS and really good accessories. If you can get it at $150 - it is a great deal.
