  • Here is a short update on my 1983 Cadillac Seville Elegante. It is back at Ray’s again, so he can sort out the fuel injection system. It is not fuelling, so I have bought new injectors. Let’s see how we go. I love the look of the car (this model is a love it or hate it style). I am sure we’ll get there eventually. Please 👍Like👍 and Subscribe and check out the Cadillac Seville Playlist for the story so far. Thanks for watching 😀👍.

    Here is another short update on the “progress” of my 1983 Cadillac Seville Elegante. A great looking car. I just want to drive it. Ray is currently dealing with a fuel injection issue and, as Maxwell Smart would say - “And loving it” 😀. Please 👍Like👍 and Subscribe and check out the Cadillac Playlist. Thanks for watching 😀👍

    Thank you for this update Mark. You might have to sweeten up Ray with something better than Great Northern Ginger Beer😂.

      Yes, I think that was the inspiration? Will have to follow up how Ray is going with it. 👍

    Hi Mark , fuel issues with the Cadillac. could be any thing from the fuel injection , fuel pump , may be a block in the line or the ECU. it's a nice looking car. Ray has got his hands full, hopefully it might be a simple fix cant wait to see what happens next take care

      Thanks Shaun. I think you are right. It will be one of those things. I have left replacement parts with Ray for everything bar the lines, so hopefully he will sort it 👍

    G'day Mark. I remember the Cadillac Seville. Interesting car.

      Hi Jason. I used to have a 1981 model and really missed it (owned it 34 years ago and I think there is a picture of it on the early playlist episodes?), so decided to buy another one. The 4.1 litre V8 is a pretty under powered engine but I just want to make it reliable so I can cruise in the car. I especially wanted an Elegante too (two tone, top of the range with the central console). My old one was the “standard” model but still had leather, sunroof etc. 👍

      Thanks Olds98. I agree. It is frustrating but I am sure Ray will get to the bottom of it 👍

    Can't abide it's 'talking point'. Looks beautiful from front on.
    I need a car with twin square headlamps in my life.
    Great specimen of a bustle back you shipped over.

    Polarising. That would be a kind way of describing it's looks. The first Seville was pretty smart looking, why they did this to it is anybody's guess. Still, at least it is distinctive which is something you can't say about today's look a likes.

    • @markbehr88
      @markbehr88  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, as I said it is a love it or hate it. I like the first model (1975). Very smart looking, but I also like this “neo classical” look too. But I get it is not for all tastes. 👍

    You should have bought a 1980 one. Either a "49" state car with the de-bored 6 litre/368 cu in version of the prior Caddy "jumbo" block 8.2 litre car, as has simple Rochester carby on it, OR, the California version with the 350ci 5.7 litre petrol Oldsmobile engine. Either one would give the 1960's & '70's reliability from either of those two engines.
    The USA nick name for this one's HT4100 engine is the "hook & tow" 4100 (4.1 litre v8).

      @markbehr88  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Agree but they are very thin on the ground. I am sure we will sort this one but agree a 1980 6 litre would be best. I did find a set of the rate alloy wheels.

    Do you know the history of this Seville Mark ?
    A neighbour had one just like it back when they were new.
    Even then it was a quiet car!

    • @markbehr88
      @markbehr88  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Ha. Yes. Very quiet. I had one about 34 years ago and missed it. You can see a pic on the earlier playlists of my old one. The Seville name started in 1957 I believe? The downsized one with a more conventional appearance came out in 1975 and these Bustle back ones came out for the 1980 model year. The 1980 is the best as you got the 6 litre petrol V8. 👍

    Chopped-off back doesn't match the front. Think the trunk area looks as if had been pushed in by backing the car at speed into a very solid wall.
