I’ve gotta adore the foreshadowing in the moment where Shrike was goofing around with Beebs who had flower petals on his head to look like Dr. Agness and point a sword at him only for it to reveal that Puntiagudo was going to be the sword that defeated her. Wonderfully done!

Started rewatching. This series straight up decided that every object is Chekov's gun.
i think this style of foreshadowing also hints at Shrike being the last of his species. Kara's file on him says his species is unknown, and when Puntiagudo was crying about his people being wiped out, Shrike mirrored his sadness when Sixty Two mentioned how tough it can be being the last of your species. Shrike was sad over the condition of the Bucket, but i think him simply crying DIRECTLY after that line is just a hint.

It was probably closer to a few hours in-universe, but I agree, not a good look for him.

We all like Digital Circus and Hazbin Hotel and all indies but Monkey Wrench needs more attention than we thought too

The character design for "Grandma" is honestly genius. I think you balanced the silliness and intimidation factor perfectly. Big fan of the blisteringly obvious visual metaphor, love how her vehicles felt like natural extensions of her personality and aesthetic. Voice actor knocked it out of the park, too. 10/10 baddie of the week.
I detect a bit of Gurren Lagan mech design in her, I love it.

that and shrike's entire thing with having the crystal that seems to be unique to him makes me really intrigued. the reason I say seems to is that granny (I dont remember if she has a name) wanted to test shrike's crystal.

I like that it's made clear that Shrike knowing the Miranda Rights shpiel wasn't a crack about HIM getting arrested, it was a hint that he used to work law enforcement.
I also really hope we get to see the little guy later with a new lease on life. I get this is a comedy show but I feel legit feelings about his situation
One thing I absolutely love about this show is that Shrike has the Crystal of holding (couldn’t help myself but make that joke) to basically mimic the cartoon “pulling objects out from behind the character” trope. Pair that with his love for Cartoons, and you have a perfect combo!

I gotta say, I like Shrike and Beebs's friendship. I could already tell they were pretty tight in the first episode, but them just messing around with each other during the cold opening was oddly wholesome.

The angler fish design for granny was great, this show's animation reminds me of Earthworm Jim or other late 90s-00s type games and shows, absolute hidden gem that I hope gets more attention as it goes.
Earthworm Jim was the first character to jump to my mind too. It's the fluid, whipping movement.

I love how this sets up the mystery of Shrike. There are a good chunk of lines implying a questionable history for him and his kind. I'm excited to see where this series goes.

What a perfect occasion to rewatch one of the best cartoons ever.
This show is DEF getting featured in my indie showcase. ITS SO WELL MADE!!! It could easily pass as an official show on cable tv or something. I could easily see this featured on Adult Swim, Disney XD, Cartoon Network, the likes! Kudos to the team behind this, this show definitely deserves all the recognition it can get!
And also, Beebs bringing Shrike back up to his feet at 11:36 is such a neat move.
This show deserves recognition and cash!

The action choreography just floors me every time
This show has a vibe to it that's fun and light hearted, but has just enough of a edge of danger that makes things real interesting. Wishing all the best for this show!

Lackadaisy, helluva boss, hazbin hotel, murder drones and monkey wrench are written more for children as they're inspired by childhood cartoons and so use the same formula.
I love how this show is just an actual animated show yknow? Like with all the bells and whistles. I am obsessed! Usually I’m not the biggest fan of animated sci fi shows (last one I liked was Futurama) but this bangs so hard

Shrike is just too perfect. His voice delivery is just perfect, like better than a lot of high budget projects with legendary va's. The va deserves all the recognition and success a va can get.
As someone who strives to make their own fully animated outerspace themed story i totally dig this for more inspiration! There isnt alot of media out there centered around adventures with main characters non/human beings, i love that we get to follow two aliens along side the journey!

y'know when it cut to punti crying after the fight i fully expected it to be revealed that the entire fight was a story shrike was making up and they actually messed up hard like you would expect to see in a comedy focused sci-fi show like this. but i'm really glad beebs and shrike are allowed to be competent at what they do instead of constantly failing for comedic effect

Guys I'm obsessed with this series holy shit. Down the rabbit hole of indie animations and easily this is my absolute favorite so far--it feels like being blasted into the past to Saturday cartoons but better. Love the chars and spirit and world and animation. The hell does it have so few views???
