This song was played at my wedding in 1999, and unfortunately 15 years later my husband who was my best friend, passed away from a massive heart .attack. This song will always remain one of my favourites. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This is my parent's song. We played the Mel King version at my dad's funeral in 2018--has a whole new meaning now. Bittersweet. I'm sorry for your loss.
I think they both did good . I can tell she really likes Mel's version. She not divert for his style until the end. I think she would agree Mel Carter is the inspiration.😊
Mr. Carter's rendition is the gold standard... but, Have you heard Mr. Johnny Mathis version??? It is definitely my favorite. Worth playing it, for real!
Gloria recorded this 26 years ago for her album of the same name. The album also has her hit cover versions of Turn The Beat Around and Everlasting Love.
Nothing like the original version of the magnificent singer, Mel Carter, but Gloria Estefan gave a wonderful rendition of this forever romantic classic. Love it. ❣️
I so totally agree with you about this particular song in which Gloria put her best vocal performance, especiially at the end. Love the song and I love Gloria!!! my diva!!
This is a song that the writer requires the singer to deliver a performance that shows the emotion and the passion of that couple in the movie theater including dropping the popcorn. The singer has to believe in the message to make the listener believe in the message. Gloria indeed delivers that message like the writer intended, a 10+ performance. A video with emotion packed scenes that builds to a dramatic finish.
This is an absolutely beautiful cover of this timeless song. Gloria adds so much class to this beautiful song. The video brought tears to my eyes, thinking back to a time of innocence and following in love, with Gloria adding the emotion that this song always accomplished when sang by the right artist such as Mel Carter, and of Gloria Esteban.
Ooh my God y’all!! I never knew who sang this and now that I’m 45 I looked up the lyrics and vula! Gloria Estefan !! Whatttttt 😮😮😮 My favorite aunt in law used to sing this and teach me the words. While I was on her airplane !! Her feet ! And she would glide me back and forth on her feet! And we would sing this to the top of our lungs! One of my childhood memories that just brings me to tears. I blocked out a lot of memories because my mother was extremely abusive and I endured the worst torcher at the hands and mouth of my mother. So this memory may not sound like much but for me it’s the world. I feel so sad that ny childhood was so traumatic that I’ve had to bock out what was supposed to be some of the best of my developmental years. But I am a very rare grateful and appreciative person. Who appreciates things as small as having running water and lights. As well as being loved, supported and cared for. I appreciate everyone who has been apart of my life. With good intentions. I don’t take anything or anyone for granted and I do intentionally do this practice. There is a book I love by Pam Grout titled “ Thank and Grow Rich” there is an excerpt in the book that says “ You can take a man to paradise and it won’t be long before he starts to say “this is great but” … Obviously pointing out how quickly we become ungrateful for almost everything and everyone. Ending up with more complaints then gratitude.
I bounced concerts in the 90s. The classiest people I encountered were Gloria and her family. Just good polite and awesome folks. Same could be said for Pat Benetar and Neil Geraldo. Down to earth nice people who treated everyone with respect. Great music and great people.
Thank you, Gloria. Your version of Mel Carter’s is just as beautiful! It brings back such memories. It was always the last song played at most parties I attended. Such sweet, sweet memories 🙏🥰
This music, this song and Estefan's voice puts a spell on me. It holds me captivated, it thrills me and every single lyric sung with such style and soulfulness is like a kiss to me - call me sentimental - I'm just a fool of a woman in love with love.
LOOOOOOOOVE this song-- I want this at my wedding. The first song my husband and I will dance to as a couple. Such a great slow dancing song. love it! Gloria delivers this so beautifully in this re-make/.
A wonderful 🎤 *coVer, this. Goes ^to June pList 📋, (due 🕰️🔀 V% 'Rose Theatre' site ), as symboLic & ℹ️fact ' *afTer* V% by 'U2's homagé to Tim Burton 🦇😎🕵🏽♂️ !
As i said GLORIA back in the 90'swas my girl crush and when she sings this i get goose bumps. ANYTHING SHE DOES IS GREAT, AND THE Arrangment is better, but Mel has a special memory in my heart. Its a very special memory. Gloria is one if the greats.
Nice version of 1952 Mel Carter❤LUV some Gloria! Growing up n South Florida in the 80's,90's,2000's there wasn't any1 who DIDN'T listen to Gloria Estefan/ Miami Sound Machine.💃💃💃it's STILL the 💣🔥 today2019 #Miami #KeyWest #FLORIDIAN #GLORIAESTEFAN #MIAMISOUNDMACHINE
I love the original, but I totally love her way of doing this song!!! This song is sooo BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! Perfect bride song to her groom or even a proposal song.....
I just love all of these songs. And, I had the preconceived notion that I just would like her original songs. It is amazing. She is so skilled at song choice that each of these seem like they are custom tailored to her own, unique voice.
Back in the day she was my girl crush.I loved her music and mostly she was class and cared. Not like those called entertainers of today Her standards she sings sound brand new songs.
WHEN A song touches you as a kid that holds these memories it unlocks then the original is your favorite, Gloria goes to a much higher level then mel because of the back ground singers and the arangment. I DON'T THINK IT WAS AFFORDED TO MEL.I DO LOVE GLORIA
"Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me" is a song written by Harry Noble and originally performed by Karen Chandler in 1952. It has been re-recorded several times since then, the most notable covers being by Mel Carter in 1965 and Gloria Estefan in 1994
Thanks Gloria, love this song when my Mom used to play when I was a little girl, and when you had the CD with all the remake songs my brother bought me the CD knowing i just adored your music.... and i adored this cd ever since .
This song was played at my wedding in 1999, and unfortunately 15 years later my husband who was my best friend, passed away from a massive heart .attack. This song will always remain one of my favourites. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I am sorry. He has passed away all too soon. But what you two have shared stays. I hope he rests in peace, wherever he is now.
Gloria does a nice job with this beautiful song.
I'm a long-term fan but this song is one of Gloria's best! Thanks.
This is by far the best I've ever heard her sing. Not easy to go up against Mel Carter.
I think they both did good . I can tell she really likes Mel's version. She not divert for his style until the end. I think she would agree Mel Carter is the inspiration.😊
never hread that mel carter's one before much on the uk England radio 2
Mr. Carter's rendition is the gold standard... but, Have you heard Mr. Johnny Mathis version???
It is definitely my favorite. Worth playing it, for real!
This song was meant to be sung by a woman and Gloria was that woman. BEAUTIFUL!
"Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me" was my late hubby and my song. It brings back wonderful 50+ years of memories, also tears. Thank you .
Gloria could sing the phone book and it would be a hit
Never better said!
I love this song Gloria sings it so beautifully 😍
How I wish to be happy again... And listen to this song with my beloved one once again
My daughter Wanted to dance with me when she was a little girl to this song!
My beautiful baby, she’s 39 yrs old today!❤💋❤💋❤
I guess she was 9 when Gloria sang this song ❤️
So beautiful. Timeless song - Mel Carter the original- now Gloria Estefan - wow!
Gloria recorded this 26 years ago for her album of the same name. The album also has her hit cover versions of Turn The Beat Around and Everlasting Love.
Just found out today 6.30.24 that Mel Carter in '65 was not the original - Roberta Lee in 1952
I read that but in searching for it, it appears it was Karen Chandler who performed the original. My apologies for passing along info without checking
So sweet, pure, stylish, innocent cover of Mel Carter's classic song. Gloria was never more so beautiful in this video.
She does a AWESOME BEAUTIFUL JOB singing this. ABSOLUTELY LOVE this version.
The best version of this song by far.
I love it 🥰😍beautiful song and video it’s beautiful 😍
This song is a tear-jerker, without even trying to be one.❤
I remember we had her CD back in the day, with this 1st song
Great cover.... she did it justice. She looks beautiful here too!
Nothing like the original version of the magnificent singer, Mel Carter, but Gloria Estefan gave a wonderful rendition of this forever romantic classic. Love it. ❣️
Hands down my favorite video by Gloria. It's timeless.
Gloria does a superb version of this vintage classic of 1965

Gloria estefan is such an iconic legend because of songs like this, I loved it from start to finish 🥰
A beautiful rendition -- romantic. If singers would just keep revisiting the classics it would cure numerous ills.
Classic and beautiful song done superbly by Gloria..
Til this day this song is one ☝️ of her hits, yet the words to this song are very much alive.
I bounced concerts in the 90s. The classiest people I encountered were Gloria and her family. Just good polite and awesome folks. Same could be said for Pat Benetar and Neil Geraldo. Down to earth nice people who treated everyone with respect. Great music and great people.
Wow, how did I miss this gem in 1994? Moves my heart, love this version and of course the original...
