This one was the creepiest one yet. I agree, the music was spot on and the suspense held my attention. The anticipation is more scary than the monster, it always is. I think that your imagination and fear of the unknown creates the best suspense. You keep getting better!

some of it reminded me of a night gallery episode I saw as a kid. roddy McDowell was in it and I think the title 'cemetery'. I really like these short ones that appear to have believable actors and good music. I wish I had been in one of these when I was young.
Shit! Anything is better than Twilight. A three hour documentary detailing every variety of algae would be at least 300 times better than Twilight.

Man, I got such a nostalgia rush watching this for the first time in years, especially when the music at 2:01 started playing. I don’t know if it fully dawned me how impressively told this story is with so little dialogue when I was younger, tho, and I also don’t think I appreciated the lighting enough until now. Great stuff!
Seems like she didn't believe in herself and she gave me a lonely vibe off of her... the painting must've seen she was just as lonely as her and took her in the picture... I liked it she was very convincing and she didn't even speak

Seriously! This film is one of the best short horrors I've ever seen. It is really well built along with the intensity of each shot. An incredible movie. It leaves me wonder what will come next in both this short and what you will create in more suspenseful films. Never again will I look at a painting the same again. It will leaving me questioned and scared just like the girl. Great job Man.

OMG that was so tense and horrifying I don't think i've ever seen a better horror short film ever.
Some people might not think so but I think that there is a meaning behind this, so my school is learning about addiction and don't do drugs or drink. So to me the meaning behind this is like drinking and doing drugs, now from what I've heard about drugs is that they can harm you and really impact you in a very bad way, so this was about how the lady was drinking that one night and she got tired and drowsy. Now, I think that the picture resembles the drugs or the allchohol, and the shadow guy resembles the temptation. So the lady walks by the hallway and sees the picture crooked so she straightens it, the part when she straightens it is like saying no to the drugs and the guy is not there so she is not more tempted to go near it. The part when the guy shows up and gets up each time is like the temptation is growing more and more. The part where she smashed the painting is her trying to get rid of the temptation but when she goes back the temptation is still there. The part where the guy is chasing her is like the temptation is sort of bringing her in more, she tries to run but the temptation catches up to her and takes her. The last part, when she was inside the painting was like she has totally turned to the drugs and bad stuff. Now, when the next person comes, the next person will be tempted 2x more than she was,which will grow bigger and bigger every time.
I appreciate your take on this, however just one thing bothers me about it. In your perspective, there is no hope. There's no recovery. Your description portrays infinite misery and then worse, succumbing and defeat to the problem. That's terrible, and worse yet, not even realistic! There are many MANY individuals who fall into addiction and then get back up on their feet in perseverance and then victory! Your conclusion holds no understanding for human nature at all, especially the part of human nature that keeps us going, even after a failure.
FuzzyRainbow Films There are addicts who get better. They recover. And they turn their lives around. Perhaps the teacher or professor of this class should have at least brought up this fact. (Although, art is as one perceives it, but still, at least get all facts before concluding an opinion. It doesn't sound as if you have.)

What I learned from this: Never have a painting of a tree in your house.

aahhh, the little ghostie was just lonely! he now has a companion. that was ABSOLUTELY wonderful. I see a little "1408" and "requiem for a dream" in this. and you used a reverse jump-cut. instead of a ghostie jump-scare towards the camera it was the opposite. well done and original. kudos to the actor. she did a damned good job too. and even the ghostie itself was unique. EXCELLENT job and thanks for the film. (one criticism though. if I hear one more door bell in a horror movie i'll just spit!)

Seems like she chose to drink instead of make art so instead of seeing the art she decided to throw it away and the demons or demon consumed her

I've never watched a movie in which many people live in a small house where they have to share bedrooms sleeping on bunk beds and a family of maybe 5 or 7 watching TV together and then horror takes place. If a director can create horror in such a situation, he should be given an award.

There was another older short horror movie like this where people get trapped in a painting ..I cant remember if it was tales from the crypt or tales from the dark side but it was one of those older shows

Thanks! Yeah, there is a lot of guitar mixed with keyboards for most of the music. Most of the guitar is that really echo-ey, distorted sound that comes in a lot.

I've got a tree and cat done in black ink over white paper. It's a desolate piece but I did it when I was using heroin very heavily. Every time I look at it I can't help but feel cold and alone.

I don't know if it was intentional or not, but this reminds me a bit of an episode of The Night Gallery (the very first one actually), from Rod Serling, creator of The Twilight Zone. But whether it was a take off of that or not, I thought it was very clever and well done, especially the extra little twist at the end. Nice job.

Wow. This short was really good, and really original! I will admit it wasn't really scary, but it was creepy, and a great idea! The music was fantastic, though I don't feel it fit the tone just right, kinda made it less scary. Still fantastic though. Love it!
