Watching your videos helped me feel more confident and prepared for coming to Korea. I've been here for about two months now, and learning how my experiences are different or the same as people you interviewed has been interesting. It is really a learning experience to travel and experience other cultures. Also, I really like you jacket.
It’s very interesting that several women pointed out the stereotype of being perceived as “open-minded” or “extroverted.” I do wonder if that leads to strangers being more inappropriate/less respectful of the women’s personal boundaries.
I think this happens not only in South Korea but in others countries. Like in Europe guys coming from other cultures thin European women are more extroverted and open-minded, leading to inappropriate behaviours
5:46 …Since we are in Ramadan… Happy Ramadan to all Muslim… and thanks for adding this in …😊and she’s all innocent … you can tell from her voice that she’s good energy
@pianist1408 it’s obvious you haven’t been here for long😅Please watch his other videos. He makes videos for foreigners to get a better view of the reality of living or visiting or dating or working in Korea from a foreigner and native Koreans perspective🤍
I really liked this video and the interviewees. The Argentinian twins are well known artists, they are body painters. The Kyrgystan girl woooow, muy linda!!!
I'd like to see interviews with foreigners that look like Koreans too if possible. I'd like to hear about their experiences looking like Korean people but not speaking the language that well and not knowing the etiquette and stuff, if they are treated differently from obvious foreigners. Thanks.
ik u didn’t ask but i’m korean american and going there i’m treated pretty much the same until they find out that i’m from america, and then they do start to treat me like an outsider. of course not as bad as being a full fledged foreigner, but i still get the feeling that i’ll never be ‘one of them’ if that makes sense. overall though it’s definitely easier being korean passing because outwardly you look like them and you’ll be treated the same by strangers and what not. i know korean but i do have an american accent when i speak so when i talk to people that’s usually when they realize i’m not actually from korea lol
If you don't speak korean pretty fluently then for the most part they are treated all the same from what I seen. Because obviously most koreans don't feel comfortable if they have to speak English.
Can you ask Korean office workers what their work/life balance is like? Their views on work? Is it similar to china where a lot of youths have given up and are "lying flat"?
Bravo - we need more videos that highlight the experiences of (or more importantly, listen to) foreign women in Korea. Appreciate this content very much! 🙏
Hey! I live in Korea, and Seoul actually has quite a few vegan and vegetarian restaurants! The rest of Korea, not so much haha. In Seoul, some really good vegan places are Monk's Butcher, Vegetus, Food Does Matter, Acorn Cafe. There's Drunken Vegan in Hongdae. Maji is traditional Korean food but prepared in a vegetarian way and it's near Gyeongbokgung palace! Basically, bibimbop is your friend, and when in doubt, look for Indian food cuz there's plenty.
I like a lot your videos and I love the german woman because I'm also a vegeterian and when you travel it is really hard, depending on the country, to find vegetarian options. Lots of love to her ❤
Wow, congrats on hitting 100 videos! my first time commenting, but I gotta say, your kind and thoughtful demeanor always leaves an impression on me😊You've even motivated me to study some English as well hahaha Maybe we'll run into on the streets of Korea someday🫶🏻
I just want to say I really appreciate your videos 🫶🏾 I am studying abroad in Seoul this fall semester, and they have been giving me an idea of what to expect. I'm really excited, but I feel like im not that nervous because it hasnt hit me that I'll be living there for a few months yet.
i regularly have people come to me to touch my hair here in my country (france) , so i wouldn't be offended by that I think. it's just curiosity. I would not like men doing that though, as it could have another meaning than girls.
What did the German say ?They treat you as a foreigner even though you speak Korean? Can she explain how her country is treating people who lived their whole life in Germany, speak German better than their native language but are treated like garbage because they are not German? But when the same thing is happening to her she is shocked lol it’s always the same with racism they don’t want to be treated the way they treat others
@@lasciemie6346 I didn’t say she said it I I KNOW that is happening, first hand experience😉Even if you speak German better than your native language and are born in Germany Germans will never accept you no matter how long you’ve lived in Germany the slightest critic and they will call you racial slurs I experienced everything. To me it is funny how she criticize the exact same thing that is happening everyday in her country wonder if she has the same reaction to that as well.
older people do that because its a show of affection as they would only do that to a daughter. and younger koreans open a seat on bus to show same affection/ respect toward older people
So, Korea is like the Germany of not so long ago, in terms of availability of vegetarian food? 'Cos I heard that Germany used to be so HAAARD for vegetarians, lol. Being a vegetarian was NOT popular in the Germans of the early 2000s, I heard.
The Muslim girl seems really nice and respectful but Koreans have no obligation to educate themselves about Islam. She is a guest there - she is obligated to educate herself about Korean culture and religion (especially since the majority prefers no religion at all), so as not to offend anyone.

it’s great advice. you should be open minded as a traveller and respect customs. doesn’t matter what religious background you have. she’s also from Finland which is mostly homogenous until recently, so I’m sure she knows what she’s saying. pls don’t be so prejudiced. travelling unites people regardless of their differences 🤍
