While researching online, I found the process sequence as follows: Sheath → Guidewire → Diagnostic Catheter → Guide Catheter → SC Balloon Catheter (if needed) → Stent Delivery System (Balloon Catheter with Stent) → NC Balloon Catheter. Could you please explain this sequence clearly and in detail, preferably with a video if possible? I am asking for educational purposes as I am an engineer interested in understanding the process, along with the catheters and equipment used.

Sir, you have not explained patient preparation before coronary angiogram. Is it done under local or general anesthesia?
What is after course for patient after procedure? Will patient experience pain during and after procedure?
Do and Donts before and after procedure needs to be clarified sir.
What are the contraindications of this procedure? What is the risk in diabetic patients with high creatinine levels?

Hi Doctor,
I recently consulted with a physician in the US who recommended atorvastatin to address my elevated LDL levels (200) I understand that having high LDL doesn't necessarily indicate the presence of blockages. As a drug discovery scientist, I'm also aware of the potential long-term effects of statin medication. It may trigger other complications in long-term use.
I was considering the possibility of undergoing an angiogram to assess any plaques before starting statin therapy. If the results indicate atherosclerosis, I would be open to pursuing treatment with statins. I would appreciate your insights on this approach and any recommendations you might have. Thank you!
