I’m coloring in this book now. I enjoyed seeing your finished pics. Thanks for sharing them. I like when you tell us what you were going for, or that you were using new pencils. I particularly liked seeing your finished double spreads.
Thank you so much. That picture was probably one of the first I did in the book about 5 years ago so tricky to remember! I know that I used Faber Castell Polychromos and just laid them down very thickly! They are not that well blended but that is how the artist I was copying also looked which made it a bit easier for me! I just copied a picture of his, he is called Leonid Afremov and there are lots of his pictures available to see online if you look in a search engine. Sorry I cannot be more precise, as it is tricky to remember what I did!
Thank you. I do have some metallic tutorials (in this playlist - th-cam.com/video/clARAJ-3HQs/w-d-xo.html) but I am planning one for the feathers in the next few weeks. If you subscribe and hit the bell, you will get a notification of when my videos are released and will be able to see when it comes out.
Wonderful! I love how willing you are to experiment and try different things. I've found that my copy of Enchanted forest doesn't take the Arteza colored pencils or oil colored pencils so well so I'm a bit disappointed and haven't really gotten started in it.
Thank you. How old is your copy? The paper has change din the books over the years, so that would make a difference to how well it takes different brands of pencil.
@@RachelHendersonColouring - I'm not sure how old it is. I bought it recently. This Enchanted Forest was printed in China, whereas may other JB books were printed in the USA. That might be the difference.
Wow you are so quick. I'm super slow. It will take me decades to complete my books I have. Secret Garden, Secret Garden Artist Edition, Magical Jungle and Mini Enchanted Forest lol
Rachel, hello!! I have my staedtler 36 ct ergosoft coming and I have purchased a 36 set of Holbein. Plus my bf got me a 150 ct of prisma premiers. I am adding to my polys with open stock. I have been very sick and am behind in my coloring. But I have a question...what set of posca pens do you use?
Hi Michelle, sorry to hear that you have been very sick, I hope that you are feeling much better now. I have mainly the PC-1MR posca pens in all of the available colours. This is a link to them so you can take a look - www.jacksonsart.com/uni-pc-1mr-posca-fineliner-paint-pens?___store=jacksonsart_en&acc=f3bd5ad57c8389a8a1a541a76be463bf
@@RachelHendersonColouring and thank you. I get better every day. I am surprised how long I have to wait for Amazon Global to deliver my Ergosoft. April 1st.
@@RachelHendersonColouring i am going to add the x-fine tip posca pens via open stock. I am thinking i can afford 5. What are the most go-to colors for Johanna's work do you think?
@@michelles_box_of_hues675 it depends what you are going to use them for. I would say white for highlights, white and yellow for flower centers, black and navy for backgrounds and gold and silver for borders and Christmas highlights.
Very nice. So many good ideas. I enjoy your daily videos. Thank you.
Thank you so much, so glad you are enjoying them.
Thank you. Lovely pictures. I might magpie some of your ideas!
Thank you and feel free!

Thank you, it is one of my favourite Johanna Basford books, hopefully you are having fun colouring it too.
Simply lovely 😊
Thank you
Found your channel through IG. Your work is gorgeous!! Can't wait to follow some of your tutorials.
Thank you very much.
My favorite is green above with underground of the tree and orange mushrooms
mine too!
It looks absolutely amazing. Could you perhaps elaborate on the picture on 2:24? What did you use for that stunning background?

So pretty. Please please do a tutorial on the metallics. I’d love to know how you achieved such a realistic looking metal surface.
