Saw this on Scar and now hearing the backstory makes it even better.. Now get yer butt in a music video with Sean and Josh and make some killer music with it
It’s a wonky story for a wonky guitar, but it’s wicked good and it’s yours! It’s a touching story - it’s been with you forever, lots of people who mean a lot have left their mark on it, you’ve honed your chops on it, you’ve taken it on the road, and you’ve made some tasty music with it. I’m so glad Sean and Cathy brought it back to life - it was hilarious watching him hack away at it, but can’t argue with the end result!
Trey, I fully understand the value of that guitar to you. It may be worthless to every other individual on the planet, but that means nothing. That guitar is truly YOURS and that is all the value it needs. I myself miss my first two guitars; they weren't the greatest, but my parents bought them for me. The better one was stolen, the other flood damaged when I had neither money nor skills nor tools to save it. I most definitely understand sentimental value. Not only is that guitar of yours a memento of days gone by, but it's also a fitting memorial. I know of no better value than that.
I get the signature thing... I have alot of friends who unfortunately are no longer here. Guitar's become like little kids to player's... purple 💜 and black 🖤 Raven's Attack.. 2006 or 07 is a long time.. As you get older that is. Not that long ago... You will see as you age... I use to think that way. Now 25 years doesn't sound that long ago to me... Cheers 🍻 🥃🥃 🎸 🎵🎶🎶🎶
Great story and I definitely understand and identify with the memories of friends who are no longer here. Looks great, sounds great, battle tested and still standing and slaying!
I noticed that you wore a purple shirt, nice touch, also nice back story of that guitar. Sean did a killer job, you can tell it is very easy for you to play. Always a pleasure brother!
Very cool personalized guitar with a nice story to go along with it. At 51 years old I still miss the first guitar I bought with my own money at 15 years old... a brand new red Charvel in 1988. I pawned the damn thing during one of my broke times in my late teens, ugh.
oh awesome you did leave all the scratched names in the back thats awesome i missed that, glad you let it like that its history of you growing up playing. ill say it again your a killer player
You're an excellent player, sir. And I get the sentimental guitar thing.. I was given a MiM Fender neck that belonged to a long time friend. For the money I spent I could've bought a guitar of actual value. But instead, I chose to build a guitar around that neck. And MJT body and various mail order parts. I remember that friend every time I look at and play the guitar. And it feels good and looks beautiful. Does it have good resale value? Hell no! Who cares. And your guitar is beautiful! Don't ever give it away! It has you. Your father. Your friends. Your history. And it plays well to boot!
Great Video. Love that guitar. Always liked Hamer and always wanted one. Do you think the American Made Hamers were better quality than USA Gibson? I don't think Hamer sells American Made Guitars anymore?
i guess im jut a traditional guy because i liked the hamer way better in its black form. all the history of you being a kid and scratching that stuff in the back i would have left it just how it was and let sean just make you a body and neck or used a kit. i like those old hamers. i had one of the 4500 dollar usa hamer carved top semi hollow double cuts and man that things was every bit as nice as a gibson custom shop and im not gonna say gibsons are bad because i love them
My name is not scratched into the back.....But lot's of my sweat all over that baby!
We will fix that! Thanks brother!
@@TreyShreddingsI agree! Sean and Cathy need a spot on that thing!
Sean did a Nice Job. Very Nice.

It was nice how it turned out absolutely. Sean and Cathy hooked it up!

That guitar has a lot of Soul. Purple Soul.
New Blues guitar. I turned a Squier Classic Vibe Tele blonde into a purple guitar using leather dye. I love it too.

I always wanted that Phil collen explorer. Back in the black and white one. I don’t play good. But I want it to this day.

Wow, thanks! Cool story man, those kinda guitars are just more than instruments at that point you bond with them and build memories with them.
That was great Trey! I sure wish I could play half as good as you.😊
Thanks so much!
Looks like the back of that guitar is scared nicely.
Sean is hysterical.

Great Video. Love that guitar. Always liked Hamer and always wanted one. Do you think the American Made Hamers were better quality than USA Gibson? I don't think Hamer sells American Made Guitars anymore?
hey thaks for watching, i think some of the hamer usa stuff definitely outshined the gibson stuff in its day
your a great player by the way

i would have left it natural and tortoise just fixed everything
you should be in jail for this
