HOW TO TEAR DOWN CHEVY 350 PART 1 TRANSMISSION VALVE HEADERS

This is the small block 350 Chevrolet engine from my 1972 C10 pick up. Watch me learn the different parts of a chevy 350 as I tear down the engine for the first time with help of course! I learnt how to take the transmission off, where the bolts are located and found out what is a four main bolt engine and the different between a two and four main bolt motor. This is part 1, and using minimal tools I was able to learn how to take the oil pain and oil filter off, I also share how the pistons are connected on a 350 engine as well as how the fuel gets pumped in the mechanics of a chevrolet small block. We had no harmonic balance pulley so Kent made a home made pulley to get the harmonic balancer off. Super cool learning how importance the crank shaft is and what the firing order of the pistons were in the 350 block.

Those dish pistons reduce compression prob 8 ;1 compression with 76 cc heads ..flat top forged pistons with 67 cc heads should be about 10:1/2 :1 compression with a 295 duration cam approx and still run pump gas

Sludge build up usually caused from not changing oil for long time like 8 or 10 thousand miles
