Thank you Joe. Wonderful walk and I like your comments. Also not easy walking on shingle. We know Freshwater Park but it was cold when we stayed there so great to see happy families in that safe river area. Maisie is such an athlete. Full of muscle and so happy. I smiled a lot watching this😊
I remember playing in that river as a child. Happy memories. We're just back from Norway 🇳🇴 now and Maisie was very happy to see us. I think she did tell us off for leaving her though 😉
@@JoeCoastal thanks Joe. Yes! Maisie would be so happy to see you both home. Hope Norway went well. Also i think you might like to watch the bbc2 programme In the Factory... about new electric London buses being made near Scarborough. The chassis comes ready made from China!
Norway 🇳🇴 was amazing. Before I left London knew we had a couple of Chinese built electric buses but I have to admit that's where my knowledge ends. I've never been to Scarborough either. Am I missing a gem?
We are so lucky to have this on our doorstep. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for taking the time to comment. Feedback like this makes it all worthwhile.
Nice video Joe 👍 Cogden is my favourite mackrell fishing spot. I look forward to you going the other way from bexington to Portland I Have heard it's quite isolated and quite the adventure 👍 All the best Dean 😃
Yeah a friend of mine told Cogden was good for fishing. He reckoned you get plenty of plaice there too. You certainly know your way around don't you. That bit you mention behind the fleet can get very boggy in winter so either got to do it now or leave it until next summer.
Nice one Joe looks like another great but of coastline and I like the look of that campsite and so close to the sea. I don't mind shingle beaches but after the last one I went to I will definitely be using water shoes 😁👍
Yeah the old beach shoes are a must on beaches like that. Id thoroughly recommend freshwater holiday park if you fancy a family break down this way sometime. And yeah it's all great coastline down here in the South West 😉 thanks for watching and commenting again mate. TC
Love your little dog there! I've never heard of a Puggle before, she certainly enjoyed her walkies there. I really miss walking with mine (she lives at my partners house so I can't see her often now) Those views are epic, enjoyed the scenery ,will check out some of your others.
Thanks Shirley. Yeah she's a lovely little girl. Feeling a bit sorry for herself at the mo. We took her to the vets to have a lump removed the other day. Turns out it wasn't cancerous but you never know do you. I can imagine its difficult being separated from your dog and your partner through all this. Hopefully things will begin to get back to normal soon. Thanks for watching.
In almondsbury, take the path onto it past the spar shop, going left then straight towards beach, onto coast path on beach to car park almondsbury toilets
Joe loving that T-Shirt!!!!.... Nice hearing about ya freshwater storys!! One of my favourite sections 👣 definitely got be brave to swim in the sea. Nice mate really pleasent to watch and seeing the sights. Cheers
Jodz nice to hear from you again. Yeah I had to buy that t shirt. There's a story behind it too. We went out new years eve dressed as seagulls and a couple of our friends went as chips. We were in the Dorset echo with it. Glad you liked the freshwater bit. Wasn't sure if it was a bit self indulgent. Thanks for watching mate and for commenting too.
@@JoeCoastal honestly that's tickled me how funny... brilliant outfits to wear for new years. can see why you all made it in the echo he he!! Always interesting hearing how people and yourself come to connect with this area and embrace it and love it.... Cheers mate and your welcome , keep sharing and hiking Joe 👣
Great video. You are doing the walk the correct way round East to West. We did it the other way Charmouth to Abbotsbury (16 miles) but only made it to West Bexington as the beach sapped all of our energy. We still need to do West Bexington to Ferrybridge at Weymouth but using the path on the North side of the Fleet. We are moving to West Dorset next year and hope to meet you on the path. Keep up the great videos, they are much appreciated.
Yeah I did think when I walked the return that walking on the stones was much harder with tired legs. As for the right way, according to the official guide book your way is right. Its great either way though to be honest. Good luck with the move. The best thing i ever did was coming down here.
Walked that twice this summer, from the car park to west bexington car park on the top main Rd, were he is walking is a killer on the legs them stones, but gradually you can difine a path close to edge grassy part nearing car park

Oh I really enjoyed this, thank you! What a fab walk. We're local and I never tire of the views here. So good to see your video of a place we love.

Have done this walk when on holiday in West bay. On another day went up gold cap. Well worth the effort.
Yes it really is worth it. I've actually been up golden cap many times and it still takes my breath away every time.

Oh those stones 😁
9.01, the grass route,yes that's what I kept too
Was that the route marked summer route? I'm guessing it gets a bit waterlogged in winter. That fits with what I remember of the area.
@@JoeCoastal you can use footbridge a little further back, onto grassland, keeping inside next to coast path but on grass all the way to car park
