Pluto & Rambo Movies - Tubi has a lot of the older Alfred Hitchcock movies available (and a few of his well-known classics), all for free. Its great to watch some of his lesser-known movies, and to see how his movie making (and movie making in general) evolved during his lifetime (1930s - mid-1970s). A lot of those 1940s-1950s movies still hold up well against what studios put out today.
Hey Luke, just wanted to drop a comment, typically for music today, I'll use one of my Amazon echo speakers. It's nice to be able to ask for the music desired and just let it play in the background, and then ask it to stop when finished. In addition, I have the option of asking for audiobooks and other content as well, so it's not just limited to music anymore.
Apparently it's not just Roku 13 that brings this one. I have a TCL Roku tv that is still on Roku 12.5.5 and it allowed me to change to the 4x4 screen.
I want the 4 tiles. I'll turn that on today. But I had so many issues getting OS13 onto my TCL TV. Rebooting loops. Crashes. Freezing. I took hours to get it done.
I checked on the tile thing and went ahead and did the smaller tiles. I regularly watch you tube, tubi tv, pluto tv and kanopy and usually check some of the live channels. I just discovered that my local library no longer offers hoopla (where I'd found quite a few older movies), and I'm frankly pissed about it. At my age, I find there are truly too many choices to bother with anyway. I'm gonna go back in, check to see if anything is appealing about most of these, then probably hit the remove key, lol.
How do we get rid of the big advertisement on the right side of the screen? I'm assuming we just stop using roku if we don't want to look at ads on the home screen.
Question for Luke. I did away with my Spectrum Cable service but kept them for internet. When they moved TCM (Turner Classic Movies) to a Sports tier I lost it. Imagine them wanting $30 more each month for the one channel I wanted to see. At one time it was on the basic package. I have searched the internet and there seem to be places to get a TCM package of about 30 films per month to stream. But does any service offer the cable version hopefully both East and West coast version for scheduling flexibility. I keep hoping Friendly would add it.
Max has some of TCM movies. Not the whole catalog. I wish it did. Sling tv and Hollywood xtra is your cheapest option for TCM. I wish they would a, TCM +. I'm sure it would sell.
Question for anyone…is there a way to make all streaming platforms have a 4x4 screen. Scrolling to the right through 30 or more shows and then go back and move to the next row and look through another 30 plus then rinse repeat sucks.
Question for Luke? Do you have any information why the CBS Roku app doesn’t work? Sometimes I watch TPIR & haven’t been able to. It either crashes or get an error message.Thanks.
I am curious if your TCL tv with the Roku tv operating system is affected by roku sticking ads where they don't belong? For example, if you're subbed to fubo, and pause a DVR'd show or game, does roku slap an ad up on the screen while the event is paused?
Is this really happening now because if it is, I’m gonna check it out when I get home from work how different is it anyway it happened when I burst her on the TV or will it just update on its own?
I watch a lot of sports, rarely live. I wish i was catered to a bit but i realize im unusual. I had one streamer cut off my account because i "paid for the live events, not the replays". Only got to about 10% of the games i wanted to watch.
I’d also subscribe to live TV services because I’m paying for sports which I don’t watch. They should offer a slim down plan that has no sports at a cheaper price. I believe they would get more subscribers yet.
Philo and Friendly do that and they have very low subscriber numbers. Also, that's EXACTLY what Fubo's lawsuit is about. The companies that own the cable networks won't allow a "slim down" plan.
It can't just be me but has anyone else noticed how it seems like every corner of society has gotten way dumber? The idea of putting sports on channels that have nothing to do with sports and never did is something you'd expect to see in the movie Idiocracy.
Its all about attracting your eyeballs and getting you to watch advertising. Most of these media companies are trying to figure out who the customer is, the advertisers or those who watch the programming. If millions of people watched mutli-hour chess games the broadcasters would show nothing but chess games and lots of advertisements between the moves.
Question for Luke, just for a follow up, why don't these music channels like MTV, CMT, etc change their names if their name no longer corresponds to their programming?
Love Doctor Who on Pluto along with Nickelodeon. QUESTION FOR LUKE. Do you ever see a day when a show like Smallville is on Pluto TV or another free service like that? We’ve seen Lois and Clark, Justice League, Justice League Unlimited and other shows from WB be part of deals with Roku, Pluto and other free services. Could Smallville be the next or one of the next shows to join them? It’s such a good show and very popular so I could see them making quite a bit of money with a deal like that including Smallville. Ty again for the content man and keep up the great work!
Does anyone know why my Roku Home Screen has removed most all the channels and apps I had placed there? It happened overnight. Yesterday they were all there but this morning most were gone. Did Roku do some sort of system change on Nov 16 2024?
I have a question, Luke, When will the Pistons and Red Wings contract with Bally Sports expires? It's is already recently expired? It's is next year or beyond? It is will be renew or not renew? Could both leave Bally Sports and return to free TV and streaming service? Could both launch their own streaming services?
I have the new menu. I can choose the four tiles across. How do you get the HDMI input choices to appear on the menu? With that I will be able to stop using the remote that came with the TV to change inputs. Thanks to anyone that can help
I believe that his TV is a Roku TV. Mine is set up exactly like Luke’s. Try going into Settings- then try TV Picture Settings. Or Settings - TV inputs. Hope this helps!

Why doesn’t Roku have a Fox TV app, like CBS, NBC, ABC, CW, etc.? I’m not a sports fan, and more sports would actually push me away from live services. To be honest, I’m not sure I see the appeal of live services. I’d rather be able to watch what I want when I want. I wish Apple TV plus would work on android like it does on Roku so I could access my Apple library anywhere I’d like.
The problem with not enforcing net neutrality comes when you only have one option for broadband internet where you live, and that ISP wants to control what you have access to, or give priority to their own content partners.
@@notajp That situation requires more competition not more regulation. Regulation is typically how it gets to that point to begin with. I find it infuriating when folks call for more government to "fix" what government has broken. But you are right though in that ISP is a special situation because of the lines. Someone has to invest to lay down lines and then they own them. Again I think the key is to foster more of that and not make it so difficult for someone to do from a regulation standpoint.

Nice that Roku kept the 3x3 tiles, with an option for the new format. Not forcing a change on everyone is a good idea.
Agree with having the choice is great. I have the 4 across on my larger screen TV, but prefer the 3 across on my small TV.
Totally agree. I have been requesting this for years from Roku. I like to think they finally listened.🤭😂😂
Yup. It makes a difference for larger and smaller TVs, and the option is almost always better than forcing something new.
Yes, @Roku! 😊💖🙌🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽 Thank you for finally giving us the option to change the tile size. Now, I can organize my apps a little better for me.😁
We don't have a lot of apps, but the option for 4x4 tiles always made sense to me.
Totally agree!
Had no idea about the tiles - but I do have the top line with frequently used pages. Have to try the tile change - thanks Luke.
