We have good OTA here in NYC. I do not want to pay Sling for local or network TV. Also, I dislike paying for all of Disney to get ESPN. (No children in house.) This new option is just a way to increase cost of Sling. I want to decrease it. Frankly, a lot of what we watch is on free TH-cam or local channels.
Zappos is a subsidiary of Amazon, I wonder if that clothing policy will apply to them too. I've got large feet and Zappos is about the only service that stocks my size. California Wildfires - Some of the OTA television stations shut down service for a while due to the Eaton Fire as it approached the big "antenna farm' area at the top of Mt. Wilson high above the Pasadena/Altadena area. PBS, ABC, Univision, FOX all off the air for various lengths of time. All are back on the air.
Sling wants you to subscribe to their full package but they’re not going to say no to people subscribing to add on packages on their free tier. They’re happy to have you pay them for whatever paid content you’re using and they won’t force you to buy the Blue/Orange or combo package if you aren’t ready.
of course they would rather you subscribe to the whole thing, in-fact for years they were spreading out popular channels across both blue and orange, so many would be tempted to get the bundle instead of just one or the other.
I would like to see Sling offer 100 hrs of free DVR considering the increase of the monthly rate. I just have Sling blue and like it but was recording new Yellowstone shows when it reran and hadn't checked for awhile and almosr ran out of DVR space for other shows I wanted to record. I had to delete all the recorded Yellowstone shows.
RE Info leak: rather than pay for credit monitoring… got to each of the big 3 and lock your credit. Far better use of time to be proactive and less reactive (monitor).
In order to get most of the channels I want, I would pay more for Sling than for TH-cam tv, and I still wouldn't get my local channels. If either their Orange or Blue package is enough for you, Sling is fine. Otherwise it isn't a better deal at all.
Locals not included in my area. My OTA antenna does a mediocre job. With local channels available I’d be all in on the blue plan, otherwise I’m still sitting on the sidelines
On the roof, pointing out a window and wired to a TV? HDHomeRun is over ethernet (but a repeater or mesh with a port might work) or Tablo which has ethernet and Wifi. I get nothing on my 1st floor. A cheap antenna on an old camera tripod upstairs hooked to a HDHomeRun and mesh cube gets me 43 stations. You probably aren't going to get better if you have a roof antenna but might do better with the above setup. In my case, simply moving the antenna a couple of inches made a huge difference upstairs.
Sling was a good cord cutter option before they decided to add locals at extra cost in some areas. I have an antenna and don't need locals. I was subscribed for years until they made that change, they could have made locals an option. I quit when the made that change. Sling are you reading the comments? I'm not the only one.
Sling TV is the cheapest option with most available. The price has gone up but it's still roughly half or less than everyone else if you want actual channels. Everyone complaining needs to realize this. And please, stop with the sports. Sports are now a premium.
recently put antenna in attic to get locals, with tablo have had directv for 14 yrs. going to cancel it soon, i agree streaming is getting out of control. i kinda of favor sling, i just want to have fox news, diccovery channel and n National Geographic.
I'm all about Sling and don't even think of "pausing" it. What are they even thinking? I'm not interested in a DVR service that won'y keep what I save. I miss my old DVD recorder that I used for the same purpose. That way I had the disc to watch WHENEVER I want. I have Amazon Prime. I've never even considered Walmart Plus. They just don't compare in my book.
Sounds like Sling TV still hasn't a clue and hasn't added the single feature they've needed since day one; the ability to set your own local area via zip code/address instead of relying on their flawed geo-location system to determine your local channels. There's nothing like 'local' channels from across an entirely different state to turn customers away.
I cut my cable in September. I didn’t know much about streaming so I payed a year for Frndly. It cost only a little over $100 for the whole year which is a lot better than I was paying with cable. I was paying close to $300 with cable and internet. Without cable I now pay not even $65 for just internet. I do have Philo as well as they have more than Frndly. When my year is up I will have to decide which one I will keep. It’s $7.99 a month verses $28 a month. I’m thinking for a lot more channels Philo is the better deal. I think you will like it.
That's a plus. Fox promulgates much much more lies than any "news" service. You haven't heard of the $780+ million lawsuit settlement Fox paid Dominion Voting system for the lies they broadcast about the 2020 election? And Smartmatic is about to settle for about the same for their lies about the same election. You are ill informed.
What I did on Android was. I went to the location in settings and went down to the system app and home app. Changes allow all time to ask every time. Kept the promise setting as it was set. If an app did make you set the location to allow while app was running, but complained when you know it really didn't need it. Setting to ask everything solves that issue. Turned off provide location because it isn't needed. The ones I changed to ask for location; they never asked even if they wanted it. I don't know if iPhone has this much control.
I don't like Sling because they make you purchase both orange and blue with sports add-ons just to watch all your sports. Basically if you want the big10 network to watch your favorite team you need all those packages.
@@MrModamanReviews That's true; I can only get FOX for the local channel, I can't get the others OTA since I'm too far from Seattle itself; even Vancouver BC is too far at least with an indoor antenna- of course the channels are different up there anyway, but the programming is similar.
sling is Too expensive. i'm keeping my cable so i can see what i want and don't have to deal with streaming costing me more to even see alot i would never watch anyway
As a long time Sling Blue customer, I am seriously considering dropping the service. I only keep it for the news. I find little of value in the other linear channels. $46 dollars a month is just crazy. As for the 50 hour standard DVR I cannot find much I want to record. So the standard DVR has been fine for me. I will have no interest in the Pause option.
Just don't subscribe and sooner or later after they get enough cancelation they'll all make their packages more affordable ..had youtubetv for over a year kept going up not giving options on packages...slings issue is they make but both packages to able to watch on more than one device...maybe soon someone will give options for more packages at a reasonable price hopefully 🙂

Sling just jacked my bill $6. Bill keeps going up, up, and I'll be going away. These streaming services are just as bad as friggin' cable.
These streaming services is just another level of democrat greed.
Greed is much more of right wing characteristic. Look into more than right wing sources.
@@KevinBenecke Democrat?
@@KevinBeneckeit goes far beyond the false Left Right paradigm as these streaming services tend to have Fox News as well as the other news networks.

A breaking news video coming soon!
I canceled Sling because the commercials are twice the volume of the shows.
What are the big changes on Plex and new changes for the Pluto TV?
I would like to see Sling offer 100 hrs of free DVR considering the increase of the monthly rate. I just have Sling blue and like it but was recording new Yellowstone shows when it reran and hadn't checked for awhile and almosr ran out of DVR space for other shows I wanted to record. Cancelled Sling after raising their prices again!
No matter...this is cable Pay TV all over again.... still forking out money 💰....these services are not doing nothing new just collecting dollars 💵😧
Philo offers unlimited dvr and recordings are kept for 12 months. That is still the best IMO.
Thank you for this video.

My phone keeps getting ads... when I watch network station TV ...it can be annoying 😮
I’m already spending $99.98/month+tax for my Sling TV subscription.
What happened to the board behind him that had all the different TV streaming services?
Keep this background! Less noisy and distracting :)

Amazon's "Artificial Idiocy"...apparently just like other "AI" out there...🤣
@mabguy1659 Every website now AI always butts in. I'm already tired of it .
Sling pause extra seems interesting

We need local channels for $5 more in va
Thank you Cord Cutters News. :)
I'm sticking with Philo.

Sling did the bait and switch on me for NFL games. Never again. Sling programming sucked as well.
Orange need to be 2 channel
I just got orange in the past, get the ESPN packages
Orange only having a single stream is a crime.
If they really want to do something for the customers cut the price if can't do that why stick around.

The reason we have it, is because of the "girly channels", the Hallmark, and like programs.
