"ı hope u learned what not to do" ı'm laughing so hardddd.ı wish her start a youtube channel because she is very energetic and watching her makes me happy
This is so excellent. I love how she just dives into the plate of goo & loves how it tastes. She's so chill about the "fail". Wonderful!! I actually recreated this, but without the nutter butter, choc chips, dropped the oven temp to 350 (she had it waaay too hot) & cut the sugar to a third cup & it turned out pretty damned good. Secret to burned edges? Use strips of foil around the edges to protect from oven burn.
When am baking and the top starts browning too fast before the cake is done, I usually gently cover the pan with some aluminum foil. It stops the burning process and gives enough time for the cake to cook. Works like magic every time!
The oven temperature was to high. Next time, lower the temp so the heat can get to the middle of the cake before the outside burns, to cook more evenly. If it starts to burn before it should, turn down the temperature :) For example: We cook pasta in boiling water because the high heat gets through the small surface area evenly and quickly. But, we cook roast on a low heat, because the meat is large and needs a long time for the heat to evenly get through the meat, without burning. It looked delicious, i'm going to try the recipe. Your an icon, omg.
I love her reaction. The cake sank because it wasn’t cooked long enough, also opening the oven door will also stop the cake from raising. Also you need to leave the cake to cool for about 10 minute and then take it out of the pan before allowing it to cool completely.
What she did wrong: 1. Cooked it at 350, since it was so high, the edges burnt and the inside was gooey. 2. Put peanut butter in the middle, just not a good idea, mix it in the batter (same w/ choc chips 3. Didn’t grease the pan with butter so it stuck
Lucy this was so adorable and I love how you are so authentic and genuine! Next time take the top rack off and put it on a lower rack. It's too close to the top burner which is why it was burning lol
The only banana bread recipe you'll ever need: 3 ripe bananas (do NOT use more) 1 cup of white sugar 1 egg 1/4 cup of melted butter 1 1/2 cup of flour 1 teaspoon of baking soda 1 teaspoon of salt Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease or lay parchment paper into a 9x5-inch loaf pan. Glass loaf pan is recommended. Combine bananas, sugar, egg, and butter together in a bowl. Mix until batter is smooth. Whisk the flour and baking soda together in a separate bowl. Stir it into the wet banana mixture. Sprinkle salt into batter. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted in the center of the bread comes out clean, about 1 hour. Skip adding in any further wet ingredients such as globs of almond/peanut butter. 1 tsp of vanilla extract or dropping in a few chocolate chips (don't go overboard or bread will be too sweet) is optional. Enjoy!
Hey! I tried ur recipe this morning and i can tell its the best ive ever tried ! Everyone liked it ^^ so i wanted to thank u for sharing it with us ☺️i will add in my recipe book 🖤xoxo
Lol it hurts when you put so much effort and heart into making the batter and in the end, it turns out to be below your expectations T_T I can understand! Quarantine forcing us to be in the kitchen and then failing...
Haha, that was entertaining! Okay so next time, just bake it at a lower temperature for longer, do not take it out when it is gooey and raw. TIP: if the top of the banana bread is browning too much, just cover with (good quality) kitchen foil to reduce the top burning but still help it cook. Probably don't need as much sugar as bananas are very sweet, but to each their own. If you have brown sugar add some to maintain more moisture. Maybe add less peanut butter. Good luck I'm sure it'll come out great next time, practice makes perfect.
use baking soda (1tsp.) instead of baking powder ... if the edges start to burn, just loosely place a piece of aluminum foil over the baking pan. It really does need an hour or more to completely bake. To check doneness, stick a toothpick through the highest part. Should come out pretty clean (maybe a couple of crumbs on it), otherwise, it's not ready. Can go back in with foil over it for 5 - 15 mins longer. I make all kinds of variations on banana bread at least once a week. Cheers !!! 😄
The Almond Butter was heavier than the Batter, making it go to the bottom. Better Idea was to bake the Batter with chocolate chips and Peanut Butter Chips. Or You can Cool the Bread, Cut it in the middle lengthwise, warm the Almond butter and spread it between the sections then replace both sections together again, slice and enjoy. Made me Laugh though, and was a great Video for a Quarantine Cooking Blooper Show.
Never use olive oil for baking. It burns easily. You should coat the chocolate chips with some flour before mixing it into the batter. The flour helps prevent them from sinking to the bottom. Hope this helped.
I love how she’s being herself and not pretending to make everything perfect like other celebrities who make cooking videos! Great video!

The reason it’s getting so crispy so fast is the amount of sugar you put in.
