Hi Jamie, Weight vs Speed. the final couple feet before the stone stops. Should I keep up the same high speed sweeping or push down harder! this slows my speed. What will drag the stone further. Thanks, Great video ;)
Well ideally you want to save your best brushing for the last 1/3 of the shot. As the rock is approaching the house, thats when you can make the most difference. So 1) make sure you pace yourself so that you have energy left over 2) its really a combination of the two. Just give it your personal best effort. Some people naturally get more pressure than others and some are way faster but don't get as much pressure.... just make sure you save your best efforts of the 2 for the end.
A couple of questions. (1) Does the person sweeping closest to the rock push the rock away from themselves? (2) Does sweeping the inside edge (i.e. closest to the sweeper) or outside edge (i.e. furthest from the sweeper) make a difference if you are trying to keep a rock straighter?
Hi Jamie, great videos, I only wish I found them sooner. :) I have the same question as Victor. I tried to use the hand / body positioning but found I had a hard time to keep up with the rocks. It felt like my feet were not where they needed to be to keep the position (back flat, head over the rock) with a consistent force on the broom head. Did you ever end up making a video on this? P.S. I am using two grippers when sweeping.

Im sorry to hear you didn't get what you were hoping for out of this video. Thats because this video is about sweeping form, not directional sweeping. Also it was posted almost 10 years ago and directional sweeping wasn't even a thing :P
