So I just got back to London from my 3 weeks in Sri lanka and we stayed in Anuradhapura for 2 days with my family and it's just a gem! I really wanted to visit some of the Temples but you have to remove your headscarf which unfortunately I cannot do. So I respected their rules and watched from the outside and bought some street food instead! We might have been in Anuradhapura at the same time! I was there on the 15th and 16th of September.

It's an epic trip you two are making! I wonder if 'Back of Beyond' hasn't advised you about the monkeys. It was most likely done by the Toque Macaques who are well known for such behaviour (Btw, we made an informative video on them). They are very curious and intelligent animals. Once they took binoculars from our SUV and ran up a tree! (..and dropped after about five minutes; we caught it 😄) I'm really surprised that this was the only time macaques did this to the tuk tuk. Best!👍🧡
