These japanese twin engine fighters aren't "Dinah's"(Mitsubishi Ki-46), those were long range recce planes with turbocharged engines for high altitudes, with only very few heavy fighter models... and those had two 20mm Ho-5 and, in a "Schräge Musik" style mount, a 37mm Ho-203 cannon. It's fuselage looked quite "bulbous" from the side because of the extensive glass covering to reduce drag. They also typically had a single tone green/brown/dark blue or black, depending on their role and theater of operation/unit These guys here however, have the typical two tone "spinach" green camouflage of the Kawasaki Ki-45 "Toryu"/Nick's, initially produced as a long range bomber escort but a dedicated heavy fighter. Since this is either late 1943 or early-mid 1944, those are most probably Ki-45 KAIc models(sometimes called Hei) with a 20mm Ho-5 centerline in the nose and a 37mm Ho-203 in a belly mount(which can be seen at time stamp 32:05 onwards). Both had a single 7.7mm rear gun. From behind, both planes look very much alike, but from the top or the sides you can usually distinguish them. Also yes, the Ki-45 could turn with and outturn the F6F Hellcat or F4U Corsair in a sustained low-mid speed turning engagement because they didn't weigh much more than the US single engines but had a much larger lifting wing surface and thus lower wingloading. And they also were excellent in the roll department below high speeds, as we can see in the video. ^^ Most people I've seen that know their stuff about WW2 fighters had a curious lack of knowledge when it came to large variety of japanese twin engined fighters etc. and would default to calling something that looks like this a "Dinah"... simply because it's the most well known of these planes. Similar to how every japanese single engined fighter with a radial was a Zeke/Zero. ;) And on an entirely different note, I'm beginning to think that the evasive AI algorythm's from these guys should be given to the single engine fighters. These guys made themselves harder to hit than the Zero's you engaged before, which is kinda... well, weird. O_o

Some mods change the veiw distance and textures, especially modded maps that come with new textures. But Fishyyy also edits nicer colours into the videos for your veiwing pleasure (love from Crabby)

I believe the props were counter=rotating...instead of rotating clockwise.
They are counter rotating in the game aswell.
