Nicely set up mission, sims are getting good ( I know this is an older game) they have the potential educate, not just by playing. Edited right the stuff produced by sims in general could be far more educational then the documentaries produced in my day. Thanks for production the guys.
They have a video of 1 German 30 mm round hitting a spitfire wing. 20 ft circle destroyed everthing in between and 10 ft circle on the bottom and round hit the wing flush Immediate catastrophic damage, no chance for escape, no wing left even at slow cruise of 250 mph.
Another good one, pleasant to watch. The bomber formation is created masterly and those escorts on one's six add to the whole atmosphere. Must watch for a combat air sim aficionado. Landing this bird in the damaged condition is hard and turning into the dead engine can be tricky...

As far as I can remember, you have an option called "toggle sight", check out in the options/controls. For me, it used to be SHIFT+TAB or something like that...
I'm seeing a lot of IL-2 1946 content, but from what I can see it's a years-old sim. Will it work on modern PCs and is it worthwhile to spend the money?
The original game came out in 2001 and this particular version in 2006, yes it is old. It does work on modern systems, I am making the videos on one, using Windows 10. The game costs like 5 Dollars and obviously my answer to the question if it is worth it, is yes.
@@Fishyyy I came to the same conclusion...the base game was less than $3 on steam, and I got an expansion pack for $11.99...$15 and change for a bad ass air combat sim! Lots of training in front of me and I think a new joystick as well. The very basic one I have just isn't cutting it

Meines Wissens nach habe ich bisher eigentlich nur ein einziges mal ein unbeschädigtes Flugzeug bei der Landung zerstört, und zwar eine Dora, aber da wurde ich am Platz von Tempests verfolgt. So gesehen sind meine Landungen eigentlich sehr solide, wenn man andere gelungene (Not)Landungen bedenkt: - Do-335 auf einer Landstraße - Hellcat auf einem Geleitflugzeugträger, mit stehendem Motor - Corsair Trägerlandung ohne Querruder - He-162 auf einem Feldweg - He-111 mit einem Motor Nebenbei habe ich auch mal ein Video produziert, welches ausschließlich Landungen von beschädigten Bombern zeigt. Ich habe übrigens auch schon Flugzeuge auf Schlachtschiffgeschütztürmen gelandet (Me-262/323, Fi-156 & He-177), sowie eine B-52 auf einem Flugzeugträger. Und für die Bruchlandungen von anderen kann ich nichts! :D Wobei ich mich aber über die eine von Tony immer noch kaputt lachen kann.

Im Grunde muß man ihn dafür loben, denn das war ein Kunstück und ein zusätzliches Highlight im Video. :) Was Deine Bruchlandungen angeht: Bei mir war nur deshalb dieser Eindruck entstanden, weil ich in den letzten, sagen wir, vier Videos drei Bruchlandungen gesehen habe. Ich wollte ja auch nur frotzeln. ;) Zwischen den Aufnahmedaten der Videos lagen ein paar Monate, insofern... ;)
If you lose one of your engine, to avoid stall you need at least 20knots more than usual speed for landing ofcourse it depends of type your fighter and speed for landing and gross weight!!!
Well, I know. But with the 262, if you throttle up too quickly, it starts to burn. You pretty much have to set the correct power setting from the get go. Yeah, I don't nearly fly this thing enough to have a feel for that.
@@Fishyyy Yes those Engines wre the early model and other thing is because of lack of materials especially in 1943_1944, Germany couldn't create better Engines unfortunately!!! any way it was only basic advice for real situation!!! Good luck.

When I used to play IL-2 before headtracking I used 8-way HAT for snapview. IL-2 was designed well for it. You don't need headtracking as much as in newer aviation games.
That's a negative. The Mustang skins with the red parts are from the 4th fighter group of the 8th air force. These Mustangs only have a red rudder, while the Mustangs of the 332nd had their whole tails painted red.

This isn't Hollywood. Me 262 leaving P51D behind, Mustang can't absorb dozens of MK108 hits, B17 can't either. :)

The He-100 is not in the vanilla game, but there is a mod for it.

We don't use our joysticks for that. Both Tony and I use TrackIR.
