- While the overall movie didn't deliver the way I was hoping it would, I consider this onscreen showdown between Donnie Yen and Andy On to be the 2nd best MMA Styled One on One fight ever committed to film. It uses authentic MMA techniques, presents all the ranges of combat, showcases stylized cinematic expression of the movements with longer takes, yet preserves authenticity and gritty realism.

A real fight indeed. Andy was a formidable opponent for Donnie. In fact, Donnie admitted later he was briefly knocked unconscious by Andy during the filming.

Andy needs to be the star character in more major martial arts films, he's got serious skill. I have to be honest though, I think Legend Donnie Yen is better. That's why he won, if this is indeed a real fight like you suggest.

@@nathannelson6843 once Donnie Yen gets old enough and he's body performance couldn't keep up anymore then it's the time for Andy On to shine. Note that Andy On is 13 years younger than Donnie Yen. Prior to this Special ID movie Andy On had one major role in True Legend (2010). This is a fair world, everyone gets old. Even if you're a super fighter one day you'll get old and the younger ones surpass you.
Donnie Yen is Bruce Lee's young kung fu brother. If anyone could give Bruce Lee the fight of his life, it would be Donnie, I bet even more than Chuck Norris, you've got to give Donnie respect.

The HK industry chiefs have said when Donnie returned to Hong Kong and started making films again, such as SPL, Flashpoint, his new knowledge from what he had learned abroad was evident, given that many of his films incorporate a more realistic approach to fighting by interspersing more MMA orientated fights. Donnie is widely credited as the one who essentially brought MMA to the HK film industry.
