Growing up in Folkestone, I used to watch the Pilot boats hammering through some serious weather and wondered how they managed it ... now I see how. Thanks Nick, great boat great tour.
A serious bit of kit and a fascinating tour. The practicality of the boat shines through. And great to see a boat so different to the usually luxury yachts.
I can see the point of keeping the pilot rails as a part of the boat's DNA but I'm guessing many leisure users would also like the security of edge rails. A great addition to the range tho and as always a great video.
Bravo ! Seaward. We really appreciate it when the makers throw in a sea trial as well as the walkthrough. Fantastic boat and good presentation , as expected with Nick.
Now that is what I call a real boat. No dock-queen but a propper go anywhere-go out and stay out vessel. Love, Love, Love. Thank you for a great Sunday afternoon video, Nick!
That is one industrious machine! You can really believe the owner that they've been out in all sorts!!! I'm normally a flash Harry, who likes his flybridge boats, but this has changed my mind! Thanks for the tour and trial Nick!
That kind of boarding ladder is the kind of safety feature I would like to see on all boats. It's important that the person in the water can use the ladder from the water.
I spent my entire youth on a nelson pilot ship since my grandparents bought it. That too was completely customised with a leasure interior. Loved every second of it.
@Moritz - luckily most everyone is welcome to their own "opinion". I don't find her "super model attractive" either but there are certainly nicer ways to refer to a lady's appearance ... 🤨 (But then I find myself wondering about comments that come from someone who believes this vessel is a "think" as opposed to a "thing"... anyhow, Good Day, sir.)
I have bought a car from Tempest, very easy to deal with however do not haggle as their vehicle pricing is very keen, bought a black GTI in spotless condition that was priced about £1.500 cheaper than a deal and everything was so well handled we drove away in it a few hours later. keep up the good work Nick

I wasn't going to watch this video as I have fondness for the more glamorous cruisers. However as it was our dear friend Nick doing the tour I thought it would be worth it. Mate you did it again, a great and informative tour. I love this boat. Cheers.
What an amazing machine! I’d be very torn between this, and the Nordhavn 41. Leaning this way. I’d make a few changes for true live aboard comfort, but she’s a fantastic starting point. As always, a fantastic Aquaholic tour, and it’s always sweet when you get to take her out. It would be nice to see her in the rough though. Really like this boat.
I've always loved the Nelson DNA boats - I recall being in our marine ply family sailing yacht just off the spit at Lepe Beach one calm and sunny autumn day in the early 70s. Dad had a pan of mince and onions warming on the primus. A Nelson blasted past at full wellington leaving a large wash - this hit us and our lunch went flying across the cabin....I realised at this point I wanted a Nelson....dad swore a lot....
When I first saw the title and picture of this video I immediately thought the price for a 2016 boat wasn’t justified. But after viewing it you can see where the value is and how robust and well engineered this boat is. It’s a serious day boat that provides exactly what it advertises. Lesson for the day : You get what you pay for.
In the North of Norway lots of folk live on Islands and commute daily..this boat is perfect for them ..all year..any weather....I would love one of these in the boat house....
What a fantastic day out for you. The MD and chief sales taking you out for a spin! I had no idea they did these for personal use, I thought it was all commercial work. What an amazing piece of kit! If you like having fun in rough water, doing a bit of fishing etc that’s the boat to buy
A lot of money but everything is there for a purpose built to last. Cheers Nick you really get to see a vast amount of completely different boats. Thank you what Sunday afternoon needed an Aquaholic tour.
Thats a serious boat. I would spec 2 things. a proper shower room, and a water maker. Then it would be perfect, after my head. Thanks for sharing sutch a great boat. 👍
Great video Nick. I have been on one some years ago. I had 2 uncles who were pilots on the Ouse and Humber. They took the ships from Goole to Hull and return. Managed to get my uncle to take me on a trip up to Hull. Had to disembark the ship in the Humber estuary and climb down a ladder onto the pilot boat. A little scary as the pilot boat is rising and falling all the time. Of what I remember the cabin was basic but had a mug of tea on the way back to Hull.
One of my favourite boats, this is no nonsense. I also like Grand Banks who are not necessarily built for speed but designed to be seaworthy too, the Grand Banks 42 was a great design in its way too. Classic designs never go out of date. I can see why the pilots have the Nelson hull and Seaward have built a great interior. Very good video and well done for pulling it off as it were.
Now then, that's a fab machine. I always like the more industrial things in life, you can keep the fancy cars, My Ford pickup rules! If I had the money this would be right up there on the list, looks an absolute blast, thanks Nick and thanks to the gentlemen for a brief glimpse.
I must admit I this is by far the worst boat for the money I have ever seen in my life, and believe me I’ve seen a lot of them. 650k£ for 5 years old vessel with one call it a cabin and call it an en-suite? For this amount of money you are easily looking for 55-60 foot Sunseeker or Princess of that age. Proper 3 or 4 cabin boats with 2-3 en-suites, bigger living room, proper dining area, and a kitchen, possibly a Flybridge and what you wish for. This is a lot of money for shitty 5 year old 13 meter boat. Before any of you say anything, ask yourselves would you choose this shit over an actual yacht.
This boat can go anywhere yes i would choose this over any other boat at this price. You can actually go boating stress free in the med as long as u want not like in princess that’s mostly useless unless u wanna spend most your vacation worrying while docked. Dale classic 45 over this tho.
@@naboftheuniverse3465 So you ate justifying the price of almost 800k€ for 5 years old 42 foot with one cabin and one en-suite without proper shower door? You are not going for trans Atlantic for God’s sake and yet 55-60 boats are not little tender which could be flipped at any time…
@@lukapindzo274 I really wanna see you in the med in a 40 foot princess in a storm you can’t outrun in a boat that can’t take it with not enough fuel left to even have a decent speed. But of course you probably are some amazing captain that knows something else other people who also wanna go boating all the time regardless of weather conditions in luxury don’t know. Right?
@@naboftheuniverse3465 First of all, I said 55 foot boat, not 40 foot princess which actually makes a difference. Furthermore, yes, I actually do know something since I am in a minority of people on this channel who are blessed to own a boat, and probably if you were in the same situation you wouldn’t even think about spending this amount of money on a vessel like this one, but you do know better, right?
That boat is astonishing! Give me that over something three times the price anyday. Loved the touch in the bow with the anchor chain, I wasn't expecting that. Brilliant as always Nick and your sky high enthusiasm seemed to hit another level today, love it!
That’s a proper Swiss Army knife of boats! I love the function over form of these types of these boats. The viewable chain hatch is so cool 😎 great video as always Nick
An excellent review of a stunning craft. The fabulous fit takes this traditional boat to a whole new level. I suspect the only limiting factor in heavy seas is the sailor and not the legendary Nelson hull!
Just came over from the Seaward 29, proper serious kit indeed! I know it’s a bit of a departure from the normal review, but the close quarters handling and the 3+ meter seas reference was well received! Thanks for the review Nick!
One of my top 5 boats. 1998 Altena Dutch Steel , that weird yacht that had a micro cabin hidden away in front of the boat that's accessible by a hatch, and this one. What I would do with this seaward 42 is to extend it for a proper galley & additional storage. That way it's basically a house boat that can go up and down the coast.
A very nice boat, and one for the lottery list, quick syncro story I had a syncro cable snap on a 65 fairline at cruise speed felt like the prop had come off got into Newport RI and it took us longer to find a fitter skinny enough to squeeze down the front of the MAN engines and the bulkhead, than it took to find the part ... at least the engines cooled down by then .... salty stories Thanks Nick
A great little ship that is substance over style, not the normal, but safer for it. All you could need, without the bells and whistles, but all you need.
That is a very impressive boat where you can do some pretty dumb things and come out unscathed. On may boats the side decks are so narrow that you need to watch your footwork as you move forward stepping between the pilot house and the outer rail where on this boat it seems safer to completely remove that outer rail. Brilliant idea. Seems nice and light even below deck with good accommodations for a couple with the occasional guests. Angus was probably more disappointed than we were that the weather wasn't rougher - this was way too easy for him. A big well done to the three guys who made this possible.
WOW! If TONKA Toys made full sized boats, this would be it. Practical and practically indestructible. This is the ducks nuts, brilliant. Excellent tour as per usual, more really nice boat people, fantastic. Thank you, take care and stay safe. 👍👍👍🛥🛳☠🚤⛴🏴☠️🚢⛵⚓😎
This is one of the best reports I've seen on your channel. Practical, understandable and to the point. The presence of the company's management on board attracts attention. The fact is that they have nothing to be ashamed of. Cool boat! Please create a review of the 50 series. I really want to order, but 50 series.
18:40 unremarkable boat, the understatement of the year, quite frankly the opposite is true, with that heratige behind her, she is definitely remarkable, i love the understated charm, great video Nick, these ride along videos are the icing on the cake, thank you seaward for this.
That Mangusta 165 Force India you were eyeing up is now back with its owner having been repossessed by the bank 3 or so years ago Mind you I understand one engine is totally seized up so not going anywhere for a while. At least its being kept clean,, it was becomining an eyesore

Shocking! Am truly alarmed to find out that pilots don't bathe! 🤣 Excellent video. One hell of a rugged boat, nice.👍🍻
What an awesome boat! Being Dutch i really like boats that are this capable. Just the idea of being able to go from Britain to Norway appeals to me. 19:15 I bet you could do this in any Elling as well. (E6, E4 and even E3). This Seaward might be a little more suitable for punching through big waves though. Love it!
Nick you really must get over here to Co. Cork and go see 'Safehaven Marine' in Youghal. I'm sure you know about their amazing craft - Thunderchild. If not, there's plenty on here about it.
that would be the ideal boat if you travelled to the isle of Arran a lot .... the sea in the firth of Clyde can get pretty rough at times even for Cal Mac ferries which are huge .... looks a sturdy well built boat .... no short cuts taken there when building it .... i would most definitely change the decor ... not my favourite shade of blue if being honest ... i'm 5 foot 8 and the bed looks short even for me .... my sole gripes ... but as you said in the review the boat can be customised to suit your own requirements
It’s nice to see the princesses and Sunseekers of various sizes, but it’s really nice to see some thing a bit different. I’d still prefer the Dale Version myself though.
Very Interested in this model; wow, just wow. I could see myself putting twin trawlers in the engine room if it were possible. Almost liking Seaward more than Nordhavn. Still needs a "proper" desk area/workstation. Every time I think you have showed me everything, you bring me something like this. I am amazed by this crafts capability; almost everything I want in a boat.
Don't get twin 420s, if you are happy traveling at Nordhavn speeds... You have to have a "need" to burn 10x the fuel burn to go twice as fast, for this to make sense. Otherwise, you're just accumulating maintenance requirements, while throwing money out the window. Most of the time, if you have a "fast" boat, you rarely need to go out when the weather favors this over more normal planing boats. You can hop to the next harbor during a weather window. Or even get out deteriorating weather, should it build while you are out. Pilots still have to work, since even perfectly acceptable conditions for a ship, can be pretty rough for a small boat. But their usage really is different from most leisure boating. From a Med perspective, I cold see this making sense for more active usage year 'round. But man, would you look the odd man out in Ibiza come summer :) Aside from that, I suspect it holds appeal for ex sailors who can't get comfortable with neither the layout nor ride nor seeming fragility of more typically laid out planing boats. Here they'd get much more speed, less need for physical work and standing outside in bad weather, while retaining a more familiar layout and motion-at-sea.
Great tour. I wanted so badly for you to explain what the big downward facing "scoops" on the outside (00:34) were about as well as the horizontal ones we see all over the fore deck at 01:40, etc. Unusual looking and I am sure they are very purpose built - and I have a guess or two but really no idea. (About 169 comments below as I got to this so apologies if someone else explained...) Thanks again for giving us something outside the norm to view. 👍
As the second commenter, I feel entitled to mention how wonderful this boat is an how lovely and eloquently you tour vessels. Very good job nick keep it up. I am now an Aquaholic-holic
Absolutely love these boats. Would love to take one out in a Force 8 or above to see what she can really do. You don't expect 25 kts from a boat like that.
I’ve said it before, but your explanation and attention to detail...especially on a boat like this, is much appreciated. Keep rocking Nick.

When a Princess and a Nordhaven love each other very much, a baby Seaward is welcomed into the world. Quite a lot of boat, for the cost, really.

Angus was probably more disappointed than we were that the weather wasn't rougher - this was way too easy for him. A big well done to the three guys who made this possible.

Love you Aquaholic!!! From Aussie😉
Wow amazing boat! Thanks for letting us come with you
Thanks for coming
This is one I have never seen before. Cool find Nick and a fantastic tour. Take care 🙏✌
This is one of the best reports I've seen on your channel. Practical, understandable and to the point. The presence of the company's management on board attracts attention. The fact is that they have nothing to be ashamed of. Cool boat! Please create a review of the 50 series. I really want to order, but 50 series.
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
If I had the money this would be the boat for me, love it. Good vid Nick👍
Superb video. Love the access that you are granted by he industry. It is a sign of the respect you have earned. Always a pleasure to watch.
Much appreciated!
What a tank. I love the variety of your shows. Thanks for inspiriting me
Thanks for watching!
Awesome bit of kit... Certainly not a Sunseeker show pony. Mega impressed. Excellent tour Nick as usual
Glad you enjoyed it
18:40 unremarkable boat, the understatement of the year, quite frankly the opposite is true, with that heratige behind her, she is definitely remarkable, i love the understated charm, great video Nick, these ride along videos are the icing on the cake, thank you seaward for this.
Excellent video. One hell of a rugged boat, nice.👍🍻
Yep. After thirty years of boating, this is the one. I'd go out and buy tomorrow...if I could.

Quite a yacht, awesome!!!! Thank you Nick and Seaward!!!!
That ancor chain art piece was fantastic. Wow!
What a treat! Fantastic tour and great test. Thanks Nick
Glad you enjoyed it!
that would be the ideal boat if you travelled to the isle of Arran a lot .... the sea in the firth of Clyde can get pretty rough at times even for Cal Mac ferries which are huge .... looks a sturdy well built boat .... no short cuts taken there when building it .... i would most definitely change the decor ... not my favourite shade of blue if being honest ... i'm 5 foot 8 and the bed looks short even for me .... my sole gripes ... but as you said in the review the boat can be customised to suit your own requirements
It’s nice to see the princesses and Sunseekers of various sizes, but it’s really nice to see some thing a bit different. I’d still prefer the Dale Version myself though.
This baby is a real little beast. I got a serious armchair thrill experiencing your trial run. Thanks mate!
You're very welcome 🙂
Wow.. Wonderful boat and again brilliant review by you Nick Sir... You are mesmerizing and amazing...
Very interested in you reviewing more of the Seaward Vessels.
Great tour. I wanted so badly for you to explain what the big downward facing "scoops" on the outside (00:34) were about as well as the horizontal ones we see all over the fore deck at 01:40, etc. Unusual looking and I am sure they are very purpose built - and I have a guess or two but really no idea. (About 169 comments below as I got to this so apologies if someone else explained...)
Thanks again for giving us something outside the norm to view. 👍
Foredeck scoops are cabin vents, the ones of the side are engineroom air intakes
As the second commenter, I feel entitled to mention how wonderful this boat is an how lovely and eloquently you tour vessels. Very good job nick keep it up. I am now an Aquaholic-holic
Many thanks!
Absolutely love these boats. Would love to take one out in a Force 8 or above to see what she can really do. You don't expect 25 kts from a boat like that.
I can say with some degree of experience, that the only way to describe it is that it’s like being inside a washing machine!

This could be my favorite video of yours yet!
Thanks!
