Acid melting metal lock, but not the taxi nor the pipes lmao
There are paints that can protect against acid designed to be used in places where acid exposure does happen, and not all metals are affected as strongly by all acids.
It's plausible the metal of the chain was something highly reactive which would explain why a small amount of acid could produce such a rapid melting(although it should generate a lot of heat and hydrogen gas, which we didn't see).
or the plastic container they filled it with lol.

@@samsmusichub you see, plastic (including most likely the umbrella) is very very resistant to acid. It's one of the sturdiest materials on earth. Otherwise, it wouldn't have been as problematic as it is today. Also, what do you think people use to store acid? Well you've guessed it, plastic jugs. So that part is true. But how the acid water doesn't splash around the umbrella and the ground and how they can touch things including the car door handle without getting burned is silly 😂

Interesting I've seen this film, but with a different beginning and much longer plus different ending. I was aware there are a couple of alternative endings, but wasn't aware of a different version of the film with different characters. Sonia is a different person and a different character completely in the version I've seen. Thanks for the recap, interesting to see a different version.

That explains it! I just watched a version on Netflix, and the ending and explanation seemed completely different! In it, the designer created the game because Minos had her daughter hostage. Zoey saves Ben from a drowning room instead of a sauna room.
