Not even gonna lie, Final Shape, Shadow of the Erdtree, and Minecraft 1.21 all releasing in June genuinely almost prevented this video from being finished on time. Managed to pull it off somehow though
It is also now a bucket list item of mine to “re-found” the Ordre Patriotique des Goglus, except this time as an organization dedicated exclusively to bird conservation, just as God intended. Ilyk when applications open. Have a great day :)

How do you not know our history, have you been too busy playing victim your whole life? French is not a minority at all and we are not victims we are actually number one on the list of battle victories historically. The most violent bloody and brutal of all European peoples is we the French. Our military was the one Hitler respected most ,besides his own.

@@NotLeftarded1 This comment is completely out of touch, we are not french in the slightest, we are Québécois, a distinct nation in every possible way, abandonned by the french as a few acres of snow when carribean slavery was much more profitable than lofty fur trading. Might as well call the Mexicans spanish because they speak spanish and were spanish once. We were exploited, assimilated and persecuted for generations as the insane wage gap between Québécois and english-speaking Canadians showed and the racism we endured when fighting for civil rights and our rightful place following the Quiet Revolution. The french military is not ours in the slightest, lol, they even failed the war of conquest because they wanted to do war the european way rather than the Habitant and Indigenous guerrila-like way. Our military is the Salaberry Voltigeurs who won against the americans, the Royal 22e Regiment who fought bravely in WW1 and WW2 against the very Hitler whomst the sacrifices, human losses and efforts of the Québécois to defeat him you are spitting on, in the grossest way possible. 20,4% is a minority group, a group found nowhere else on Earth, least of all in France outside expats.

Most people don't realize how close Canada, especially Quebec was to becoming Fascist. Arcand wasn't a nobody. I have read some literature on his writings and speeches, and he made some interesting talking points for when it comes to religion from a Roman Catholic perspective as for someone who is a little more Protestant-minded like myself. There is a book called 'Serviam' that you can order online that gave some outlines of Arcand with his own words. If you can look past the more "out there" kind of takes, it's an interesting book. Although, the book supposedly removed a very large portion of his Christian apologetics, to which was supposedly the most central part of Arcand's points.
I highly, HIGHLY recommend you to read Serviam, since it gives clarification as to why Arcand disliked specifically Jews, Capitalists, Liberals and Communists, since he viewed them as Materialists against Christian spiritualists.
Like seriously, wikipedia doesn't ever give you all the details, and is at times arguably deceptive. Go and read the book yourself since it also covers things like his sickness he got in prison/jail and so on.

Ironically, Camilien Houde, former Montréal mayor whom Arcand was bashing in his newspaper at 7:51, was also sent to Petawawa for "re-education" during WWII.
Two ideological enemies meeting in a concentration camp, how lovely.
In his case though, he was imprisoned for public insurrection against the conscription. Yes, Canada would send people to a concentration camp just for that...
Rumor has it he was also lobotomized there. Once he got out and the war was over, he was reelected in office as Montréal's mayor.

So yeah, some of us take pride in being different, we are sort of different because of our ancestry but such pride is often an affront towards others and I don't play that game, I'm a planetary citizen and culturally, I'm North American to the core with a vivid interest for all elsewhere's. BUT sometimes, when I watch the news, yes, our politicians exasperate me profoundly but at least, we're not involved in those stupid wars everywhere, in fact, like the rest of us, our military is like 10 years behind the rest of the world but honestly, 10 years back is a rather comfortable place to be, the less we attract attention, the better! it may come as a surprise to many, but the part about natives, actually reminds me of how hitler actually liked natives, he even called us honorary aryans. he grew up reading german comics about cowboys and indians, that portrayed native people in a sympathic light, they were also portrayed as outsmarting the cowboys often. there's even western movies, made in germany during the nazi reign, with native american characters, also portrayed the same way as they were in the comics hitler grew up reading.

Arcand was always politically isolated and always had a very limited popular base. Even though lots of Quebecois were very conservative, the majority of Quebecois didn't support fascism.
From 1948 (Refus Global) to 1962, the society quickly shifted to the left, until the progressives took power with overwhelming support in the so-called Quiet Revolution. The Quebec independence movement is generally left-leaning, despite some incursions into identity politics.

Do you seriously believe the British attack upon Germany was over their treatment of Jews or the Poles? If that was the case, they would have declared war on the USSR too, but they were too scared of the Russian bear. As absurd as it sounds, I completely agree with Pierre Trudeau in what he said. Yes, I do believe in arresting people for hate speech, and I do agree that there should be laws that clamp down on hateful ideologies, putting people in prison purely due to their race, country of origin, or political beliefs is a step too far. Once we start taking away people's liberties simply because it's an ideology we don't agree with, it's a slippery slope that can lead to the very things we are trying to prevent.
In short, we should be arresting people for what they do, not for what they believe in. People should be allowed to hate whoever they want, as long as their hate does not affect others. Only once hate starts to affect other people should governments get involved.
I may hate the alt-right and extremist ideologies, but if I take away their rights, how far will that slippery slope go?
