When you say you spent hours to put everything together, do you mean in Photoshop or PTGUI? I am trying to do an indoor panorama using Canon 60D and 8mm Samyang lens using the 'Philopod' Technique and find it damn near impossible to get anything decent. Most of the objects in the bottom and top half seem misaligned. Any tips? By the way, yours is still an impressive 360x180 for which I wouldn't mind giving up my arm too!
Experience shows you how much you can achieve in PTGui fine-tuning control points etc, and what you should just leave for more traditional retouching in Photoshop. Here, there wasn't much I could do in PTGui because the images were so badly shot (i.e. all over the place...). So most of the time was spent in photoshop. In general: the closer by stuff is, the more accurate you have to be in terms of shooting. Philopod is ultimately a question of concentration and practice.
Nice present! Yes, few things can beat being "up there" in a light aircraft. Did you shoot video during the flight? Or did you try your hand at the controls? On my channel there's a cockpit-video from a recent flight, if you're interested.
Cool. So you're going to get a pilot's license? Good move. Just did so myself. TIF seems to be s specific Australian term, have not heard that before.
It was a Trial Introductory Flight (TIF).
Das kam sicherlich ohne Nacharbeit aus PTGui raus. ;-)

Is this a flying lesson? Otherwise it is very unusual for the pilot-in-command to sit in the right-hand seat.
No, couldn't afford going for a license! This was simply a birthday present from my wife, and a well chosen one as it was an awesome experience!

Nice work Florian, interesting to see. How wide an angled lens do you need to get such panos?
