Thank you! Watched a few videos and this one gave the best angles and visuals to complete the repair. Many videos only show disassemble. This shows reassemble as well.
Great video!!! Most detailed video found to replace S3 Frontier battery. Confident I'll be able to do it with no problem. Thanks, keep up the good work 👍🏾
Hello, thanks for your feedback, glad to hear that! Yes, you are right, the adhesive is not that strong but heating just a little will make it much easier. It is just a suggestion. Best regards from the REPEDIA team
just cleaned it using this video. i didn't touch the ball barring much as I was afraid i might lose the spring. So just cleaned everything around it and stuck back the last properly. and now the cradle works smoothly. It was sticky for some reason. it's working fine now. thanks for the tips. (I have galaxy watch 46 mm btw.) similar design.
I have reviewed many videos and finally used this one, its excellent, I managed to replace the battery flawlessly, and also got time to clean up the watch interior 👌 👍
Thank goodness for your excellent video, without it the battery replacement would have been impossible. Followed your video and success! Thank you so much
Great video! One thing I can critic is maybe zooming in on the watch while you work on it. If anyone looking to do this take your time and set aside at least 1 hour.
Where did you get another motherboard from? I looked all around and could not find one so, I had to solder the flex back myself. It took a while. I don't know if it operates the same way but it tells time and most of everything works. I'm just surprised the dam thing is working.
Hello my friend. I need your help. I have a gear s3 classic model watch, the lcd screen is defective. I found one frontier with a faulty motherboard. can i plug a classic motherboard into a frontier watch? do you know I was undecided
How about if battery and motherboards is been replaced and while charging still red light blinking, is the problem in lcd screens or back cover?. I've try to fix over a year still no results. Thanks if you able to give me a solution. Andry
Ηello there! Does anybody know if when replacing the motherboard on a Samsung S3 classic, the entire watch needs to be reprogrammed from an authorised service in order to function properly? I was told so and I wonder if I can replace motherboard on my own or do I need to have that process done by Samsung inevitably....? thank you in advance!
Hello, yes in general, each opening influences the water resistance. It depends on how thoroughly you work. Normally, the dust and splash protection is still present after the repair. But when the watch is completely submerged in water you do not have the same ip68 capability as before. Nobody can guarantee it. Best regards from the REPEDIA team
Hello, there is no guarantee for water resistance after replacing the battery. You can use an adhesive for fixing the back cover: stellatech.com/de/samsung-sm-r765-gear-s3-frontier-lte-klebe-folie-f.-back-cover,a,828614.html/ But it also does not ensure that the watch is water resistant because each little mistake in processing will increase the risk of water entering. Best regards from the REPEDIA team
When I opened mine, I realized that there is no glue, and the lid is pressed together with a rubber gasket, so if you open it carefully and do not damage the gasket it should maintain the protection against water when it is returned to close, my watch kept its IP protection
Hello, thanks for your feedback! Next smartwatch video will be Apple Watch. But I will keep Sony Smartwatch in mind! Best regards from the REPEDIA team
Hello, I am not sure whether you will find a new power button separately. In the worst case, you have to replace the whole LCD screen because the power button is included in the display. Before doing this, I would suggest opening the device and check all relevant connectors. We wish you much success!
great video, thanks to post it, how i can recover my smart watch to odin mode, in the middle to process lost conection and didn´t finish download program, thanks again. hello from mexico. max landin
Hello, sorry, that's very difficult to answer because there could be several reasons for that. Maybe you can ask in a special forum for help. Best regards from the REPEDIA team!
Hi! Thanks a lot for the video, really useful. Unfortunately, while manipulating the device I cut the flat wire that goes out from the battery. My original intention was not replacing the battery, but to clean up the thing to try to fix the power button. Do you think that I should buy a new battery? Or would it be possible to fix it somehow? Thanks in advance and kind regards!
Yeah I can see how that might happen following this one if all you're doing is replacing the battery. It's not that this one is "wrong" necessarily but after removing the 3 connectors and 2 main board screws they go to straight into removing the LCD (which involves lifting out the entire middle frame that the main board is attached to), which is completely unnecessary if all you want to do is replace the battery because at that point all you have to do is disconnect the battery connector from the main board and then it'll lift up and flip over exposing the battery (you just have to be careful not to rip out the button ribbon which will stay connected to other side of the board). Anyway I can see how following this video could lead someone think they should pry up on the main board after unscrewing it (instead of the middle frame) which could cause them to rip the button ribbon out of the board, and I obviously don't think they're liable or anything but it's why you should always watch several different teardown videos before trying anything especially if you don't have a lot of experience with this kind of stuff. Sorry to hear that though and luckily the button ribbon is pretty cheap at least!
Please explain that when detaching the flex you mean the tape. I broke that silver button off the flex. I broke my freaking watch because your terminology literally or latterly. I see why you use your disclaimer. Explain the importance of the flexer PLEASE!
I want to complete my comment with a thank you. Even though I found some difficulties along the way. I actually fixed my watch. But I had to incorporate both different repair videos to learn how to solder the flex to the motherboard. But for the most part, I used this video the most to assemble and disassemble the watch. Without this video, I would have lost over 350 bucks trying to replace a battery. Thanks.

Glad to hear that. Thank you!
You don't need heat, the adhesive on the antenna is not that strong.
Edit: Best how to I have seen for this watch thus far. Thank you very much sir!

Very helpful video! Mind if I ask what kind of connector the LCD screen has? I haven't been able to find much cohesive information anywhere.

Is it still water resistant after replacing battery yourself?

It's still not completely disassembled. The physical buttons are still in the case/bezel.
thanks you bro..
Thank you for this excellent demonstration! May I nominate Sony SmartWatch 3 for the next disassembling session?

By using the metal opener will damage and scratch the watch metal by priding open back cover must be another way
You just breeze through the hardest parts without much explanation. I ended up breaking a button following this video.

This was fairly easy. It costs $25 (tools+ heat gun) & 15 minutes overall.
Mine finally died. At first it was the green screen crap then seemed ok then battery is dead now and wont charge.
I messed up somewhere😢
Im sorry for everyone who had to watch this video
Electric tool.... aka... guitar pick lmfao!!
These are specific tools for this kind of work. Each corner are diffrent thicknesses for prying delicate electronics.
I would buy one if it were 💯 % iOS compatibility

Made me ruin my watch following this guide instead of a correct one. Do not follow this guide.
Sorry but there are quicker easier ways to do this repair.
