It's still under development and not released yet, we should have a full review of it soon. It will be available on Android first and iOS later if it is successful on Android.
For me the HDMI board seem to be the same in most recivers in that price range. Did get a new reciver after 3 years the HDMi board got from tx-SR805 to TX-SR875 without any extra cost. From what I've seen inside the reciver , I'm pretty sure the HDMI board is different in the newer model, can't see the similar IC manufactures. Anyway I had fault from very begining on my old reciver, just didn't know it was HDMI board until it died totaly and I got a new one fully working.
I had the 609 beware their is a common issue with the HDMI out board failing mines did and i got a upgrade to 626 for free, tried to get the 717 .... Sweet amp, main reason i perfer it to 609 is the bluetooth wifi built in but the two hdmi out puts was a winner as i wanted a project and tv ..... but 616 dont have THX which is not a problem its not easy or simple to have true THX need all your application to be certified blah blah and design for large rooms.
With 4K does that mean that if you have Sky or Virgin Media Box and you take the output via HDMI to a 4K TV like Samsung UE55 it will amplify those signals and give a better output to your 4K TV so you can view almost 4K like content from standard definition? Please could anyone shed some light here!
I have one of these little gems. It randomly stops passing video through the HDMI subsystem till it is put into standby for a half hour or so, infuriating. According the fixit types on TH-cam this and the prior product line has known issues with capacitors and it can maybe be fixed, can you solder? Also there is an obscure, confusing, setting buried deep, I think it's output source type, blah blah..... If it's not set right when Windows goes to sleep it won't work when you wake it. In the sound control panel it says 'device used by another program' I don't remember how I cleared it each time, probably restating the PC. It took a year of farting around to figure out 'fix' that super annoying issue which I could not find a post for. If you are plagued by it message me and I will go into the menus and try and remember. This thing is hard to configure (there are no 'help' items in the menus) the terminology used is confusing, even for the savvy. Unless you want to spend hours studying to be a sound tech to be able to get an initial setup to work and like to solder I would just stay away. The HK unit that this replaced just worked but no HDMI. Stay away.
Switching between different sound selections is very disappointing: it takes about 3 - 5 seconds with total silence between the "old" and "new" selection - it is very difficult to discern the differences .... !
can anyone tell me if i can set a max hz for say the surround right left, or set 4 ohm speakers only to surround? i have a nice set of speakers, but my fronts are 8 ohm, but my other set are 4... i'd like to use them both... any thoughts?
It's an Onkyo, so I wonder how long the HDMI board will last this year, before it fails and needs to be sent off to the repair shop for several months while the "new and improved" HDMI board is on back order..................Sounds like I know what I'm talking about, huh?
Amazing review very in depth, awesome job. Wow
Awesome review thank you!

I wanna know it too.... ;) Have for time being the 609er.
Can I connect a speaker to the 626 via bluetooth?
when you're hooking up bare wire first put a dab of solder on the end of the wire, this way it won't split apart when you connect it.

Well done

this AV receiver will not show the menu on my TV and i've got a VIZIO SMART why?
looks like they got rid of the butt-ugly 2 tone styling the earlier units had.
its garbage, my hdmi went out already
