Hi Dave! I hope all is well with you & yours!😀I guess you're now in 'too hot to image' season'?🤔Thanks for posting the video!👍I will be adding flat panels to a few OTA's, although it will be with refractors, however I am thinking of going with Deep Sky Dad's flat panels because I like they way his design secures to the dewshield.🤔Cheers! 😀.
Very timely for me, Dave. I have been looking at this dew shield and motorized flat pane. for my Epsilon 160. Good to see it in action in your video. Thanks for posting!
Flat panel/dew shield combo looks great. I'm tempted to get something similar for my rigs in the obsy. And I didn't realise I could use my Dremel to smooth out bottoms! 🤣
Instead of removing, could you have perhaps added some additional material to flatten/raise the bevel and make a small “stand” for the flat panel bracket to sit on?
Couldn't you have just added some aluminum spacers and the motor arms to extend the shield part out further? Then you wouldn't' have had to cut up the shield.
Nicely done, those flats panels look good and well made….👍🏻

I like your videos. Less grumpy this time. :)
Thanks Dave. 👍🏻
Made 3 Lowe’s trips for a leaky pipe yesterday! lol. It’s fixed now
Interesting. I elevate my optical tube until it faces directly up and lay the light panel on it to take flats.
