- Attempting to milk the Cows for the very first time in the NEW Pole Barn. All was going perfectly then one cow spooked the other and the challenge began :)

Justin you should be awarded something for being a outstanding husband and dad. Every morning you manage to wrangle the kids and get them out to help. Even in cold weather. Lately I have been arguing with my 17yr old to get her to do anything outside because of the cold and here we have alot of ice and snow. My door was frozen shut yesterday. Ugh. Love watching and learning from you.
The patience of a dad to a child must remain eternal...cudo's to yours.
A lady at a church I attended many years ago said "If you pray for patience, duck" . Oh to be in that wagon with the kids, so much fun. I think the worse that could happen is road rash and I think we all have had that as a kid. You need a morning to do list Justin, your brain is overloaded. Whoa, eyebrow singe, careful young man, always open a fire door slowly. I would love to pile wood for you but alas I live to far away. Love that Jonah does not give up with cooking, well done. Ok, Justin an Apple Watch for you with reminders set for all your chores. Great knowing what is cooking everyday of the week, think I may steal this from you. I have been cooking for 59 years and am tired of deciding what to eat. Thanks for this.

That ash from the wood boiler is an outstanding mineral amendment to a compost pile. Made a noticeable difference when I started adding it to the poultry pen green manure.
You start out talking about obstacles never taking notice of that blessing that was already outside and took the bucket from your hands.
As an empty-nester, I can tell you that those child-based challenges will really be missed someday

Have you thought about an everflow system for the cows? I'm sure it would be a big system but ...might help with the mud problem.

You should put a milking yoke on the hay stand ,like the one you have by the house. So they can’t move out of it. And then no tying down.
