@@Venom-ct8yy $500 is a lot of money that you can put towards something else. A drive shaft is easy to change. And you are probably going to wait some time for it to be made. I would go for the custom set-up . That way you can get the car running faster
U are aware that the automatic transmission will always fall short to a manual rite. Examples are Manual trans has more acceleration Manual transmission is not sensitive to heat as much Manual trans can handle more hp
I totally understand manual Is always the most reliable.. However the new transmissions are very Strong And advanced in new cars nowadays. Some of the fastest cars have automatic transmissions But that doesn't take away the reliability of a manual. In my situation, I wanted to keep my car automatic. This was the solution to keeping it automatic with an upgraded transmission for the cheapest price🤙
@@INFINITIBROTHERS I am new to infinity and there transmissions I know a good amount about the 350-370z model cars I always liked em and kept up to date so your saying the vr30 is a good alternative to swap into my wife's g37 also I am planning to turbo the car after I restore it I picked it up with low miles but kind of cheap with an r title no actual damage just got totaled out over the bumper being messed up when someone backed into it this was great deal as the car had records from Infiniti showed an entire suspension in FL the front end being done less the 10k miles prior to the bumper getting backed into and I looked under the front end and sure enough nothing was bent anywhere at all and all components are brand new car drives so good and looks good now with a properly paint matched bumper u cant even tell keep me in ur comments and keep me updated I am no slouch to working on cars or doing swap this one is for my wife but I have a evo 8 swapped 3g eclipse on my channel as my baby soon the g37 will get boosted on my channel maybe in a year or two
That's awesome my man! Yes, the v r transmission is an upgraded version of the v q. It has an upgraded valve body with 10 Extra clutches and an upgraded bigger torque converter. It is basically a v q transmission on steroids. This is the cheapest route to go when you boost an automatic g37/370 In my honest opinion, the best upgrade besides boost.🤙

The very first VR started in 2016. So that means you would need a 2016+ VR transmission. It doesn't need to be red sport or silver sport. As long as its a 3.0T. You can tell the difference when you put them side-by-side I have a video of it on my channel the torque converter is way bigger

The crank sensor needs to be in the original spot where the VQ transmission was. On the VR transmission it's located in a different spot so what you want to do is cut open a big open area so that it will fit on the VR transmission.
@@INFINITIBROTHERS Nissan/Infiniti Traction Control is not completely turned off until you figure out some wiring magic to completely turn it off unless you had it completely wired off? That's sort of how it works on my V35 sedan so I'm making assumptions.
My stock 7AT in my 370z only shifts like that when it's cold.... once it heats up - it will shift "okay" in 1-2-3, but the 3-4 shift is trashy (Flare)... that being said, I still beat a tuned R8 V8 version in my "...POS Nissan..." so... I guess my car isn't that bad, but I know the 7AT is slowly going as I think I have a TQ converter "whirrrrrrrrrrrrr ing" like noise (It kinda sounds like an older modified lifted jeep sorta) - it's rpm related and happens in all gears from 2000-3000 rpms regardless of temps. Are the Ratios any different in the VR 7AT? I dislike that 1-2-3 are closely spaced, and then, you hit 4th and it's simply too tall.. it works, but on mine you seem to lose some mechanical advantage once you hit that gear (obviously it may be a good thing if I ever go boosted)... Yes same process for all wheel drive but from what my friend is telling me you don't need to modify your transmission mount and you can use the same drive shaft but you need to put a spacer to compensate for the half inch
I put the same power to i have now to the vq but with 127k miles which is now bad.. and it didn't last6 months. But that all depends on how u drive.. 🤙
It's funny you mentioned! I started hearing a noise kind of like a rattling shaking noise yesterday when I changed my oil I was flipping out! But I couldn't believe that something was failing. I went underneath and I found out that my torque converter was loose one bolt was coming out already. I tightened it up and now the noise is gone the transmission is running better than ever like I just slapped it on!

The Q60 valve body is better than the VQ. You need to use TCM from G37 and put to Q60 valve body. the VR transmission valve body is BETTER. So you would have to take the TCM from the G37 and put it into the Q60 you are only swapping the TCM and solinoid s. If you do the VR swap you need to use the same TCM solinoids from the VQ to the VR
I have a stock 13 g37x and when I floor it and it reaches to 7-9 rpm i can hear a loud whistle sound and I think its my trans. I’ve been reading a lot about It and they say when you hear that it’s your trans making sounds. Can I get the vr trans and not have a tune just stock on my g37x will it drive fine?
And Iknow you have to transfer over the harness in the old valve body in the new one trans but just wanna know if you have to have a tune or can you be completely stock and still swap trans with no problem?

Q50/60's have been doing well under the 600ft lbs of tq mark and 600ish hp. Nostrum Energy has a stock trans in their development Q50 and they are running 700ish hp in their car. They have broken one trans though. I think they just lowered the tq curve in the tune and it's held since. There are a couple of options for stronger built VR transmissions if you are planning on really pushing it or doing some tracking.
615 Alpha is right. BUT. If you aren't going past those numbers. You SHOULD be 👍. My car is doing about 550whp. Could be more. Never been on dyno yet but its held up and running strong. I dont drive it crazy all the time. Only when i need to 🙉. You are better off doing this transmission swap no matter what even if it's a daily.

the esp light comes on only when you abuse your car because your brake fluid is going from side to side , add some brake fluid and you're good.
Top off your brake fluid for the traction control light to stop coming on, that’s what happened to me

The traction control light might be your rear speed sensors going out or you're low on brake fluid. That's what happens on my 2011 g.

You'll get used to it, My uncomfortable speed is 160. You're literally going 2x the speed of traffic and need 4x the stopping distance.

Yes this was a direct swap I use the same TCM and solenoids from my VQ transmission onto the VR. I didn't have to retune or anyting

Say did you have to do any ECU tuning specifically for the transmission to get it to sync with the motor? Or was all of that done off of ecutek?
As long as you use your same tcm you don't have to tune anything. Your tuner can tune from ecutek.

They are the same length so you will need to shorten either sedan or Coupe driveshaft.

I put the same power to i have now to the vq but with 127k miles which is now bad.. and it didn't last6 months. But that all depends on how u drive.. 🤙

It's funny you mentioned! I started hearing a noise kind of like a rattling shaking noise yesterday when I changed my oil I was flipping out! But I couldn't believe that something was failing. I went underneath and I found out that my torque converter was loose one bolt was coming out already. I tightened it up and now the noise is gone the transmission is running better than ever like I just slapped it on!

You can get one on eBay for a fraction of the price. I get all my engines & transmissions there. LKQ ebay

Would you say this be transmission shifts almost as quick as GTR transmission? Did you upgrade the valvebody also ? Or is the q60 transmission valvebody already better.
The Q60 valve body is upgraded when you upshift it is almost instant

From the VQ platform yes. It has 12 extra clutches bigger torque converter and upgraded valve body

The Q60 valve body is better than the VQ. You need to use TCM from G37 and put to Q60 valve body. the VR transmission valve body is BETTER. So you would have to take the TCM from the G37 and put it into the Q60 you are only swapping the TCM and solinoid s. If you do the VR swap you need to use the same TCM solinoids from the VQ to the VR

I have a stock 13 g37x and when I floor it and it reaches to 7-9 rpm i can hear a loud whistle sound and I think its my trans. I’ve been reading a lot about It and they say when you hear that it’s your trans making sounds. Can I get the vr trans and not have a tune just stock on my g37x will it drive fine?
And Iknow you have to transfer over the harness in the old valve body in the new one trans but just wanna know if you have to have a tune or can you be completely stock and still swap trans with no problem?

Yes. Same process as in my video. Your car us a vq. Vr transmission is 1/2 longer. So u will need a 1 piece driveshaft

This thing shifts super quick plan to do it to my 370z soon how much whp and tq can this trans actually take longevity wise?
Q50/60's have been doing well under the 600ft lbs of tq mark and 600ish hp. Nostrum Energy has a stock trans in their development Q50 and they are running 700ish hp in their car. They have broken one trans though. I think they just lowered the tq curve in the tune and it's held since. There are a couple of options for stronger built VR transmissions if you are planning on really pushing it or doing some tracking.
615 Alpha is right. BUT. If you aren't going past those numbers. You SHOULD be 👍. My car is doing about 550whp. Could be more. Never been on dyno yet but its held up and running strong. I dont drive it crazy all the time. Only when i need to 🙉. You are better off doing this transmission swap no matter what even if it's a daily.

It will bolt up but because your g37 is 5AT and this is 7AT. Idk. You might have TCM problems. Might not shift. But I'm not sure. There's only one way to find out! 🤙🙏
I want to do this to my manual 2007 350z, its twin turbo boosted with 500 HP but I'm not sure if this transmission swap would work for it, do you know? Also what exactly would I need for it to work? Thank you my man the front bumper is a Duraflex ts1. My car is pushing about 620 crank and 520 wheel these numbers are not confirmed because I've never been on a dyno I am remote tuned

I am full FBO boosted with all supporting mods. My transmission is a 2019 Q60 red sport VR transmission. I converted it from the VQ
Also I don't abuse my car I drive it like a grandpa.
