I am the one singing on this recording. No, it's not The Beatles (obviously), but the opening track from an album of songs that John & Paul wrote but gave away to other artists called It's Four You, that my mates & I recorded in 1994 during our time with an Australian group (owned by someone else) called The Beatnix. We formed our own group called The Beatels in 1996 & only just called it a day earlier this year (2024). There is also a clip you can find of us doing this one live on daytime TV from back in the day. Thanks for putting this one up 👏
You did a damn good job with this. A full Beatles version from 1963 would have taken over the world, except they'd already done it with the hits we all know. Thanks for giving us a taste of what might have been.
@georgecase188 Really kind words...we put our heart & soul into it & had a few years of pretty intense live shows to draw on. If we did it now, there would likely be some subtle changes, but I still really enjoy hearing this.
This is a great recording you and the band made. It really capturedls the feel of early Bealtes. I'm shocked that John gave this song away, considering how good it is.
This is by The Beatniks, from a Beatles tribute album called 'Its Four You'. Its an album of songs Lennon/McCartney wrote for others but didn't do themselves. The Beatkniks did them as the Beatles might have.
Would have been amazing if the Beatles had released an album in 1963/1964 with songs like this and "Bad To Me" etc. on it. They gave away so many great songs.
You know you're the greatest band in the world when a song like this is one of your throwaways...Any other artist would call "I'm In Love" their masterpiece. For the Beatles, with "She Loves You," "I Want to Hold Your Hand," "Please Please Me" and "All My Loving" in their repertoire, it's a backup plan.
LONG LIVE BEATLES!!!...
There is a heart wrenching Lennon demo of this one from '63. He did some of his most interesting work in home demos but I love this one as an attempt to present it as full group song.
Arrius Scholanus That version you're talking about is not from '63, but everyone thinks it is - wishful thinking. It's a lost Lennon tape from his Dakota days. (To those who can't read: I'm not talking about the version in the video.)
I've got something to tell you , I'm in love. I've been longing to tell you, I'm in love. You'll believe me, when I tell you, I'm in love with you. You're my kind of girl, you make me feel pround, you make me want to shout aloud, yes, I'm telling all my friends, I'm in love. Every night I can't sleep, thinking of you, and every little thing that you do, yes, I'm telling all my friends, I'm in love. Oh yeah, I'm sittin' on the top of the world, I'm in love with a wonderful girl, and I never felt so good before, if this is love, give me more, more, more. Every night I can't sleep, thinking of you, and every little thing that you do, yes, I'm telling all my friends, I'm in love. Yes, I'm telling all my friends, I'm in love, in love. Yes, I'm telling all my friends, I'm in love.
this is fucking good....I have worked with people like the guys in Klaatu and had my own Beatle band and this is great stuff I hear, here. Merseybeats forever
It's a Lennon composition that The Beatles might've included on Please Please Me, With The Beatles.....or a b-side! Sadly, they didn't. A song they should never have given away to The Fourmost (who had the hit with it) and also, Billy J Kramer.
This is an interesting take on the song. The way the instruments are played almost makes me think this would belong on Rubber Soul, but the lyrics are clearly 1963-64.
I think it's totally okay to upload this kind of stuff, as long as it's marked "in the style of the Beatles" or something like that. But if you just call it "the Beatles", some people who don't know so much about the Beatles are gonna think it really is. What's the point?
neko5beatle This is definitely NOT The Fab Four -- the only CDs they've released to date are their Christmas song albums done in the style of assorted Beatles songs. Plus this sounds nothing like Ron and Ardi.
Well done! The vocals don't sound quite like Lennon. Close enough I guess. However the arrangement and performance are dead on early era Beatles. This would have made a great song on any early album.
Adrian Everett But it is a song written by John Lennon but never published, so I think The Rutles did it instead. John Lennon recorded this song as a private demo in poor quality, it is on youtube somewhere
This band just doesn't get it. Beautiful song. The dynamics, the inflections, the chords, the drumming. Miss the incredible beauty of the original Lennon demo. I understand what they are trying to do. But, sorry, lacks subtlety and sensitivity to the details that make this song leap about great to genius level.
The title of the video is misleading as well as the photo. This is not the Beatles, it is a Beatles tribute band. It is annoying how desperate youtubers are for clicks.

This is the best song I've ever heard in my life
how about now?

@@Hungjover Hopefully they are.
It's been 9 years now

I love that descending verse progression.
This is a GREAT song! I get chills down my spine!
Beatnix made a fantastic job. They gave back to the world a lost (almost) beatles song.
There is a heart wrenching Lennon demo of this one from '63. He did some of his most interesting work in home demos but I love this one as an attempt to present it as full group song.

Best recording ive heard of this John Lennon song. 👏
Good version by Not the Beatles. Sounds great though.

Hi there fellow BEATNIK!!! Jack Kerouac + Beatles unbelievable!!!!
I'll bet my life this is not the beatles, but these guys are damn good!!
They're not.
The Beatnix*
John Lennon wrote the song and gave it away to someone else. This Beatles cover band is covering all of the songs the Beatles gave away.
I don't really care if it's the Beatles its still good
Brutal!!!! Buenísima!!!
I love the anthology beatles, it is very beautiful
John and Paul wrote this song, but they let another band sing the song instead.
FoxieRoxie365 A pity. Its a great song which I think they should have recorded them self as well as Pauls a "World without love".
FoxieRoxie365 yeah why
Its johns songs
It's so cool!
Great version. Congratulation,
this is fucking good....I have worked with people like the guys in Klaatu and had my own Beatle band and this is great stuff I hear, here. Merseybeats forever

This is pretty darn good.
I got this album, I heard the best versions of the Beatles' music, but I know, everybody wants to hear The Beatles singing....
These are fantastic. Would be great to hear a cover of Don't Pass Me By done in the style of the Beatles circa 1964.
Not the Beatles but damn good.
^^ Hermosa Hermossa!!! ^^!!!
Wow,yeah!!!
I'm In Love with you Dawn Rachel Rodriguez ♥️ ❤️ 💕 💖
I’m in love with you Mario Lopez Rodriguez ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Bruce Coble As John Steven Shipely As Paul David Wood As George And John Taylor As Ringo
This channel is probably for The Beatnix. I love their song, too.
This is NOT the Beatles BUT its a good cover! 👍
Awesome. So am I.

I want to go home around that time .
Greath version played for "Beatnix" band.

neko5beatle This is definitely NOT The Fab Four -- the only CDs they've released to date are their Christmas song albums done in the style of assorted Beatles songs. Plus this sounds nothing like Ron and Ardi.
th-cam.com/video/3WfoccRna6I/w-d-xo.html
Isn't that "The Beatels", an Australian tribute band? I've had this version on my iTunes since 2002!...
I sang on this recording & I am in The Beatels now, though I was performing with The Beatnix when this was recorded...so you are half right :)
This is not the Beatniks, but The Beatels, an australian group. You can find this song on their website.
Beatles never released this. It was passed on to the Foremost, who did reease it. This actual track is by the Beatbix
I have the demo of this music too. The demo version is COMPLETELY different of the complete.
não é the beatles é cover tocado por uma banda argentina the beats
Ata sei...
Is The Beatnix A Beatles Band From Australia
I wish they really did this song..
Happy New Year Darling.
This is the Aussie Beatles cover band - The Beatnix
Jojojo que temaso ......❤❤❤
Good cover mate! But don't do these kind of jokes.......!
It gives you a pretty good idea of the Beatles would've recorded the song-had they actually decided to record the song.
Cover but good one in deed ! McC
can i buy this on cd love your arrangements of these songs.
#TheBeatlesForever
Didn’t John write this about Cynthia ❤️💕❤️
If u would have played this to me i would have thought that this was them, its because i haven't heard an original so i cant Judge
This band (beatnix) has produced others discs?
If this is love give me more
The Beatnix from Autralia.
Well done! The vocals don't sound quite like Lennon. Close enough I guess. However the arrangement and performance are dead on early era Beatles. This would have made a great song on any early album.
no they are not the beatles , just the song . but the sound , definitively are the beatles.
Sounded far more haunting on just the piano
She is my girl beatles
Too bad the title isn't showing the correct "The Beatnix" band name.
I am in in desperate need of sleep.
The beatnix , australian group
I love the beatles, but the version of the Dakotas is really better good to me
I think " that tink you do " from the wondre inspire frm this song
Is this really The Beatles? They sound different.
+LovelyMiss90 Its just quite OK interpretations of the how the Beatles would have sounded if they kept their "Give away songs"!
not the beatles is cover of band the beats.
This is a song by The Rutles from All you need is Cash !
Adrian Everett But it is a song written by John Lennon but never published, so I think The Rutles did it instead. John Lennon recorded this song as a private demo in poor quality, it is on youtube somewhere
EliasVideoProduction This has nothing to do with The Rutles, you guys.
The Rutles song was I Must Be In Love
not the beatles, but still really good!
The Pre Fab Four who did not make it, The Rutles !
+Adrian Everett No.
Oh gosh
Estos no son los Beatles. La letra si es Beatle.
Great COVER, but it isn't the beatles version :p

This band just doesn't get it. Beautiful song. The dynamics, the inflections, the chords, the drumming. Miss the incredible beauty of the original Lennon demo. *JOHN LENNON DEMO*
Do they always have to write "The Beatles" if it's not them? -.-'''
Calling yourelf the Beatles would be a copyright infringement. Be careful. The song is good.
Deceitful to put Beatles thumbnail when it's not them!
Where's John's original demo?
fucking george. thats my dude
This sounds like an anime intro lol
Sounds like the Rutles

John Lennon wrote this song
I though this was The Rutles one
