Does the pillion have to listen to the same music and navigation instructions as you? Sorry, never used comms before as been on sports bike and in the process of moving to an Adventure bike.

Nope, only the music afaik and only if you enable it. The only thing that connects as standard, are the mics - so you can communicate.
