- Simon and Rebecca talking about early days of film making with John Polson and Tropfest - short film festival. A few comments from Naomi Watts as well. John has directed 6 episodes of The Mentalist. Simon once commented that there was an Australian director on T M (John) and that Simon found it very difficult not to slip back into his native accent when John was around!
Recently John has directed many episodes of Elementary, which stars Jonny Lee Miller who starred with Simon in Smith (2006) - it's a small world.......

haha thats true, that was cute, but she seemed like didnt take it in humour way but rather more serious.. people are in shock why couple after 30 years being together are divorcing all of a sudden. well its never happing in 1 day, not in 1 month, and sometimes few years lead to that. I dont wanna discuss much coz its his personal life, i just feel it was coming, obviouisly. and its never happening in a quick moment and its never late to turn your life around and start over, even in your 50s! And, it doesnt mean all whats before (his ex wife as an example) wasnt real, or there is no love. It stays, but it just transforms into smth different. They basically grew up together, he has been with her more years in lifetime so far than without, just think of that. As in the mentalist, I loved the quote: " Going back ( to whatever field, or being single again or whatever) doesnt mean going backwards, its moving on"
@@Nati4Truth I also saw the indifference between one another in the videos I saw after I was looking up interviews of Simon after having finished 'The Mentalist'. What astonished me and piqued my interest to find out more was when he said that when he was named 'the sexiest man on television' he basically said that at home it meant nothing and during an award ceremony in Australia I think he said something like "Tell that to my wife!". Meaning she really didn't care about it. At the very least you'd think she would feel proud of him in a way but that was basically indifference so I went to look up more footage of them and it just seemed like a whole bunch of indifference towards one another. A lot of miscommunication and indifference which was baffling because Simon has incredible chemistry with a lót of people he's talking to. He's beaming with them but with his wife it was a véry different vibe most of the time. But I thought "Y'know maybe this is just in interviews. Maybe this is their chemistry and/or they are content living like this.". I could never shake it off though. I just hoped that the both of them were happy. Hearing about their divorce was an unhappy 'being right' kind of moment. You don't wish this upon people. Especially when they have invested so much into one another. But like you said, you can start over at any age. Love has no age limit. Exploring hasn't either. I hope the both of them are happy and/or are on the road to being happy (:
