I have been using TruenNas Core since 2017. mostly on spinning rust but I do have a 14 drive Z2 Array. ZFS is the only disk / file system controller I will use. I have just started testing on TrueNas Scale and will use it more once the next release is ready. Thanks for the video !
Thanks for making this video. My LincStation N1 USB drive failed and LincPlus has been unresponsive. I did run into an issue in the install. When I tried to use the internal mmc drive to install TrueNAS, I got an error when it was attempting to create the file systems: "failed to find partition number 2 on mmcblk1". (There were 3 partitions created by the installer, partition 2 was 512MB.) I dropped into the installer shell and used the gdisk "o" command to make a fresh partition table, but the issue persisted. I ended up plugging in a USB SSD drive to host TrueNAS. IMHO, UnRAID has a serious reliability issue by depending on that USB drive and the GUID key. My LincStation was 3 months old when the USB drive died. I have four nvme 2TB drives and two 2TB SSD drives installed and the LincStation runs warm. I could see the USB drive cooking off in this condition. It makes me wish that I had pulled it out and plugged it in externally ... it might have lasted longer.
I encountered the same "failed to find partition number 2 on mmcblk1" issue installing TrueNAS 24.10.1. Moving back to legacy 24.04.2.5 solved my problem.
Unfortunately the part where you setup the Jellyfin instances for the shares did not work for us. SMB works and so does SFTP but we cannot get jellyfin to recognize the host path for our media. Even when we used the 1000 UI and GUID as you did. Update: I was able to get the folders recognized by adding the additional "apps" permissions as per TrueNAS tutorials I read which is for "User" and "Group". So we are now rocking!
Thank you for your review and a script. Once the service is up and running it also runs a HTTP web-server that is located on the 50000 port. There you can manage a led strip AND send POST request onto the /led/opt with two params: targetLed (power / network / hdd0 / hdd1 / nvme0 / nvme1 / nvme2 / nvme3) and state (off / normal / warning / alert)

Excellent, I did everything and my movies don't appear, I created a media folder inside that folder, I created another folder called movies and copied one of my videos, but it doesn't appear in jellifin
I'm four five days in moving into a Lincstation N1, w 6 4TB ssd's. I went w BETA7 as I learned that unraid array w parity is not a good option w ssd's due to TRIM. I did all 6 in a ZFS R1 pool... I too wonder about the Beta. I recon folks will have a higher confidence w the True NAS platform due to zfs maturity.... I see alot of shill / review videos for the N1, but little on the safest deployment using ssd's. Thanks for posting this alternative... I think I will give it a spin...

@@aijokker it is, but you still need an array! From version 7 beta onwards I believe you don't, but I don't mess with betas and my data! :)
