i definitely think a story told through the eyes of a “parasitic” member of society is incredibly valuable to world-building. if you show the view point of the character or characters who the systems were not meant to serve it can really bring a different viewpoint on your other main characters who do have privilege in that sense (or ones that don’t, which can have a connection to said new character). gollum is an interesting character in that sense, he is seen as a nuisance, and a game revolving his survival and going through the world could genuinely be so engaging. this “experience” turned into a puzzle stealth game instead of an exploratory open world experience. it’s a shame because if given the right team or resources it could’ve turned out well.

I'm really sad this game killed Daedalic's development team. I love the Deponia games, so for this to be their legacy now is incredibly disappointing. What a shock that when a small studio is given a big property to make shovelware, it benefits absolutely nobody except the peanut gallery.
