That friend now lives with my best friend, who tattooed Jethro Cave's finger years ago, who was a fan of my friend's noise band at the time, and demanded he do this bad tattoo for him at the time that they met, so he did. Then yh, he died last year as well. It's pretty weird and crazy.
Nick was the perfect person to sing this song at Shane's funeral. He gave of himself with tremendous feeling and soulfulness and yet has the artistic temperament and understanding not to fall into sentimentality. A beautiful and moving rendition.

Meanwhile performing an absolutely masterful take on his friend’s great song with musicians he’s never worked with before. Everyone did very very well here in extremely trying circumstances. This really was the stand out performance for me and there were many!. Shane's very best work and Nick really captured the mood of the moment perfectly.
