I love how that Karen ordered gross food for her kids, but ordered herself tiramisu and Gelato, not to mention the sugar in several glasses of wine. The only thing denying them any sugar in childhood will do is cause them to binge it in adulthood. Especially with Karen setting the example of binging. Let them have something they like every now and then. Especially at a restaurant.
I dont particularly want kids, but if I have them, they're getting treated well enough that it's not spoiling them but they still have the times of their lives. I dont want to be like those Karen parents.
@@SillySausage902 That's how their childhood should be. Treated well so they feel valuable as human beings, but not spoiled to the point where they turn into terrible adults who contribute nothing but chaos and misery to the rest of humanity.
I'm a prime example of this. My mom was/is a super health nut no salt no sugar. So after school or whatever I ate as much of those things as I could without puking. It is a habit thay has stayed with me and I now get insane cravings for them. My weight has yoyoed 100lbs because I never learned actual healthy eating. I try to do a Everything in moderation with my son so he doesn't have the same issues growing up
@@patriciamonje6741 I have had similar struggles. My parents would give my brother and I 2 cookies for dessert, but would eat 3/4 of the remainder of the package in one sitting. They would have upwards of 10 cookies each. On another night, we would be given a small scoop of ice cream and they would eat heaping bowls of it, leaving behind only a small amount for another night. My brother and I used to tell each other, "I can't wait until I'm a grown up and get to eat as many cookies as I want!" That's the only thing moderation without properly modeled behavior did for us. It made us resent the restrictions that they didn't place on themselves. I think if they had limited themselves to that amount of cookies or ice cream, it would have just set the example that this was a healthy and normal way to eat sweets. My niece and nephew have a very healthy diet, because their Mom has a ton of food allergies. So, she has to cook all of their food from scratch, because most prepackaged foods have the things she is allergic to. So, they eat a very healthy diet overall. When it comes to sweets, she bakes gluten free cookies and cakes with them. The kids enjoy the baking process and the desserts. However, they aren't obsessed with sweets, because they see their parents moderating their own sweet intake, too. Everyone together eats 2 cookies for dessert and saves the rest for another day. I feel like that is a much healthier approach. For myself, I'm learning to moderate and reminding myself that there are more sweets available for another day, if I don't go overboard and eat too many in one day. I've lost 60 pounds over the last two years by thinking this way about everything I eat. I have only the serving size, and then I have plenty left for the rest of the week.
