Thanks for this, I have been racking my brain trying to figure out why it could not ping anything. The setup does not set a default route. We are demoing, and this saved me a ton of time.

this is such a great video. I did not need to call support anymore I could do this on my own, pretty easy to follow.

Hi there, thanks for your question! When configuring a Catalyst 9800, it is important to understand the behavior of VLAN 1 and how it is used in different AP modes. Here are some key points to consider.
      1. VLAN 1 Usage:
      - Local Mode/Flex Central Switching:
      - Specifying `vlan-name = default` assigns the client to VLAN 1.
      - Using `vlan-id 1` assigns the client to the wireless management VLAN.
      - FlexConnect Local Switching Mode:
      - Specifying `vlan-name = default` assigns the client to VLAN 1.
      - Using `vlan-id 1` assigns the client to the FlexConnect native VLAN.
      2. Default Behavior:
      - If no VLAN is configured under the policy profile, the WLC assigns `vlan-id 1`, so clients will use the wireless management VLAN in local mode and the AP native VLAN for FlexConnect.
      3. Best Practices:
      - It is generally recommended to avoid using VLAN 1 for client traffic due to potential security and management issues.
      - Configure a specific VLAN for client traffic by navigating to `Configuration > Tags & Profiles > Policy` and setting the VLAN field under Access Policies.
      4. Web GUI Access:
      - Ensure that the VLAN used for management traffic is properly configured and allowed on the data interfaces.
      - Verify that the VLANs are allowed in your data interfaces by navigating to `Configuration > Interface > Logical > PortChannel name > General` or `Configuration > Interface > Ethernet > Interface Name > General`.
We hope this information helps, and please let us know if you're still having trouble. Thanks!

On 9800-CL 17.12.3, even if answering no to "initial conf dialog", you cant go through autoinstall, you dont have the prompt.
