Always a pleasure to watch a video by Matt Fryer! Looks massively fun but I'd be jittery beyond all recognition.
For me personally, I really just love the fact that Fryer, despite being a well-known star and great golfer, is just one of us when it really comes down to it. He's up on the first tee scared shitless, and one the second tee beaming with excitement. Of all the stuff he's done, he's still out there like a kid, just jazzed that he's right where the pros were just hours before. And you can tell he's genuinely grateful for the opportunity... Greatness.

Nice video. I followed Xander and Rosey round on Sunday. It was absolutely class to watch. I had to make do with playing Barassie on the Monday. Lovely course though!

Really enjoyed my Saturday at the Open . Very busy obviously but the atmosphere and just being there made the journey from Torquay well worth while. Thanks for showing me bit s of the course I never got near !!

@@Mattfryergolf I played Royal Birkdale the week after The Open in 2017. The experience was awesome unlike my golf but I will never forget that round. That was brutal too….

One of the best golfing days of my life, 18 holes on the Ladies' Course followed by the Championship Course in the afternoon. Those bunkers are so tough to get out of.

I'd like to see the return of the graphic showing each hole/fairway from above (off to the side of the screen). It's hard to picture the courses from ground level.

Good video Matt but it seemed rushed either the play or the edit,appreciate you probably had time restraints but everything about it seemed rushed,maybe it was the nerves on the 1st tee and everything went the same way after we even that looked rushed,like me on my local course when I have a crowd (6 people waiting to tee ha ha) on the 1st tee looking on
#1 short game coach - "there's no bad lies in bunkers" = just get better. ;)
Why does every round for a TH-cam golfer always include one or all of; the ‘worst bounce ever’, the ‘unluckiest kick ever’ and the ‘cruelest lip out ever’ 😂😂😂

With a bit of fortune on those putts you could have been 4 better great to see mere mortals at the open

24 mins is about right for 18 holes on YT. Some of the 60 mins plus course vlogs are painful to watch so i now give them a miss.
Interesting - but not everyone can afford £365 for a round of golf at Troon.

The score wasn’t that bad. Course rating of 76, par of 71, gives a scratch golfer 5 shots there. The normal par is 74 but he was playing the Open course with 3 pars 5s as par 4s. To shoot 80 is a good effort.
