The pattern of the Rosary I think it's also at the level of a single day: you start joyful, go through the sorrows and difficulties of the day, and you end in glory before going to sleep (mini death). It feels very natural to pray the mysteries like that, joyful in the morning anticipating the day, sorrowful in the afternoon, glorious at night.

Fr Mawdsley has understood the true *anthropological and metaphysical significance of transubstantiation.* This is how God brings species, including us Adamites, into being, from prior but apparently identical or unchanged forms (ie., non-Adamic hominins).

The lamb, the altar, the light and the cross immediately made me think about the appearance of Our Lady of Knock. All of those elements are featured in that apparition, as is the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. I have always believed that the apparition contained, among other things, a very clear instruction or warning not to change the Mass. Yet, look at the Church that was built at Knock.

To understand the depth of revelation is to learn from those whose holiness has made them instruments of God to communicate the faith. St. Thomas Aquinas Commenting on Isaiah 2:3:“ Come. Here he places the calling. And they are called to three things.
To eminence of faith; hence he says, come, through consensus, let us go up, through faith, to the mountain of the Lord, that is, to Christ, and to the house of the God of Jacob, that is, to the Church: arise, and let us go up to Zion to the Lord our God. For thus saith the Lord: rejoice ye in the joy of Jacob (Jer 31:6-7); ascent to mount Zion (Heb 12:22).
Second, to teaching, when he says, he will teach us his ways, that is, the precepts by which one goes to him: there thou shalt teach me, and I will give thee a cup of spiced wine and new wine of my pomegranates (Song 8:2).
Third, to obedience: and we will walk, after him, in the paths, of his counsels: ask for the old paths, which is the good way, and walk ye in it (Jer 6:16).
For the law shall come forth from Zion. Here he places the reason for the order of the calling, saying, for the law shall come forth, understood spiritually, from Zion, not from Mount Sinai, and the word of the Lord, that is, the Gospel, from Jerusalem, for the contemplation of peace: for salvation is of the Jews (John 4:22), and below: when they rush out from Jacob, Israel shall blossom and bud (Isa 27:6).” [St. Thomas Aquinas, Commentary on Isaiah, trans. Louis St. Hilaire (Steubenville, OH; Green Bay, WI: Emmaus Academic; Aquinas Institute, 2021), 57-58.]

Father is so intelligent it's hard for me to follow. If I got this book I definitely would have to take it ve....ry..... slow.....ly. I do recognize some patterns from the Old Testament to the New and maybe my Faith in that is good enough for now. For example, the lamb was sacrificed by the Jews in the Old Testament and they carried it to sacrifice on a "tree" in the shape of the Cross. It's obvious they practiced God's Will unwittingly and their sacrifice has endured throughout time.
Thank you, Fatima Center and God bless 🙏. 🙏 😇

I have learned so much from reading all of Fr. Mawdsley's books. I am so grateful for his work and intellect and inspiration. I have a question I would love to ask him: I'm confused in the story of Abraham and Isaac, when at the end Abraham finds a '''ram" for the sacrifice, instead of a lamb. Why a ram instead of the traditional lamb? But I'm wondering if the ram doesn't represent the Father, and the sacrifice He will make by allowing His "only begotten son,...whom (thou) lovest..." to be sacrificed and so brutally sacrificed. When I think of the ram representing God the Father, my heart aches for Him, as any parent could understand.

    • @ScriptureandTraditionFrJM
      @ScriptureandTraditionFrJM ปีที่แล้ว +4

It is good to see that angle present! As the ram and the lamb are the same species, there is the continuity with, for example, the firstling of Abel's flock and Pascal Lamb of the Exodus and those lambs later offered in the Temple, all leading up to the Lamb of God on the Cross. But it being a ram that was sacrificed by Abraham carries those elements of leadership, strength, even royalty, which all fit perfectly for Christ, but do put us in mind also of the Father. And this is a great insight you give. Because although we know God cannot suffer anything in His Divinity, it is a total misunderstanding of God and His Love when people protest that the Father must have (I hate to write it) been cruel to send His Son. Rather the Father, Son and Spirit are of One Divine Will, total agreement on this, and the Son willingly and lovingly subjected His human will to the Divine Will.
If God could feel pain (which for those zealous to make corrections I stress again He cannot), then the pain God the Father would feel about Calvary is exactly the same as that experienced by the Son. Any loving parent finds it harder to see their child suffer than to suffer themself. So Mary, too, felt the agony of Calvary. But like Father and Spirit, Mary was willing to offer her Son,, because they all love us so much. I think you are right that the use of a ram, even though it prefigures Jesus, does also give us the perspective of the Father -- especially as it was done at the hands of Abraham. For the greatness of Genesis 22, is not primarily in Isaac's awesome willingness to be sacrificed, but the awesome willingness and faith of the father, Abraham, to go through with it, because God asked it. So He shows us the Father.
Anyway, it is late and I might be going in circles. I think what is important is: we understand the ram is a figure of the humanity of Christ (while Isaac shows Christ's divinity); but the use of a ram and the emphasis on Abraham is all meant to put us in mind of the Father, and understand the greatness of His giving His Son is the equal of the Son's greatness in obeying.
      Blessed Trinity Sunday!
(The fire that Isaac carried up Mt Moriah is the sign of the Holy Spirit.)

@@ScriptureandTraditionFrJM Thank you, Father Mawdsley, your response helps me to not only understand the meaning of the prefigurement much better, but also to be able to envision it more clearly. Your description of the ram as "carrying elements of leadership, strength, even royalty," is stunning, as I picture the mighty ram caught in the thorns, yet to be sacrificed. It is not a lamb, it could have been a lamb, but it is a RAM, and then I envision Jesus in His "leadership, strength, ...royalty," being crucified. This prefigurement of Jesus' crucifixion is powerful. The ram at first reminds me of Abraham and the sorrow the Father must have felt, but then of course, as you said, it must first and foremost represent Jesus, in His power and strength yet Who willingly was sacrificed.
And I am grateful to learn that the fire being carried up the mountain here is the sign of the Holy Spirit. I have just been studying Ephesians Ch. 1 where Paul writes about "The Eternal Plan of the Father," "Realized in the Son," and "Fulfilled through the Holy Spirit." (DR) It makes sense that the Holy Spirit would be represented in this profound Abraham and Isaac prefigurement, as you are teaching us just how often the Trinity truly was represented in the OT. I am fascinated by your topic of the Hebrew, the Greek, and the Latin Scriptures being "the voices of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit." I look forward to learning more from you, Father. What an incredibly, deep, rich Salvation History we have. God is so good!
Thank you, Father Mawdsley! You are in my prayers as I am reading and studying your wonderful books.
p.s. Every time I pick up your book, "Crucifixion to Creation," I admire how the "X" in Crucifixion reaches down to connect to the "T" (tau/cross) in Creation. It is such a meaningful design!

Eliseus did not kill any of the idolators with the material sword; but he is here joined with hazael and Jehu, the great instruments of GOD in punishing the idolatry of isael, because He foretold to the former His exaltation to the Kingdom of Syria, and the Vengeance He would excute against Israel and anointed the latter by one of His disciples to be King of Israel with the Commission to Extirpate the house of Achab.

Thank you for your interest in Father Mawdsley’s works. For videos besides those on our channel, see his TH-cam channel, Scripture and Tradition. He describes his book series as follows:
"Although any one of the books can be read on its own, there is a theme developing through them all which makes it helpful to read them in the order they were published: Adam's Deep Sleep, then Crushing satan's head, then Crucifixion to Creation, then If You Believed Moses.
"The theme is how we are to understand the New Covenant and the Old, including the New Testament and the Old Testament Scriptures. This is easiest shown with the Passion of Christ (hence, Adam's Deep Sleep), which explains everything. Next, it is seen in the Blessed Virgin Mary, who gives us hope for victory in the end -- so Crushing satan's head. And thirdly, it informs our daily life through Holy Mass, hence Crucifixion to Creation.
"The fourth book, If You Believed Moses (2 volumes), is written to address the suffocation of the life of the world through globalism and the attempted destruction of the traditional Mass -- the chief apostolic liturgy -- by the modernists in Rome. But these issues are perhaps hard to understand if one has not read any of the earlier books of the series, as I attempt to demonstrate what lies ahead by relying on a true reading of the Torah (and Prophets, Writings and Historical books of the OT) -- as revealed in the light of Christ and His Gospel.
"Alternatively: just jump in with whichever one catches your attention!"
      God bless you.
