  • This is the best camera backpack for hiking and wild camping that I’ve used yet. I can fit in all my camping gear plus loads of camera tech. Comes in 55L & 70L with smaller bag in slightly different models.

    Looks like a solid Bag in direct competition to the Mindshift 180 Rotation 50 Litre Plus. Both have their Pros & Cons but I went with a mindshift as the instant access can be the difference between nailing the shot and missing it. I do like the Lowepro though as I own 4 of them form over a 20 year period. They are the kings of Photography Bags

    • @StephenJReid

      Nice idea on that mindshift! I tent to carry my camera on the outside on a clip for quick access and then the camera section is used for my drone and spare lenses. Lowepro produce some quality kit, I sold them when I worked in a camera shop about 18years ago.

    That looks awesome, what do you think of the Tahoe 150 from Lowepro for day trips, all I need is my GoPro and drone with some water and snacks maybe some coffee

    • @StephenJReid
      @StephenJReid  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haven’t used that bag myself, been using this one for very lightweight day trips: th-cam.com/video/1LedZ_bPZYs/w-d-xo.html

      @@StephenJReid that’s an awesome one just need something a little bigger for GoPro and Mavic to both fit. Maybe LowePro will give you one to review 👊🏻

    • @StephenJReid
      @StephenJReid  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can get my Mavic Air2s in there and a GoPro, it’s a tight squeeze. They have a size up though (24l) that should easily carry everything you need: amzn.to/3qyGz3P
      The Tahoe 150 does look like it might have enough space and it’s a lot cheaper.
      But doesn’t have as many outdoors features, can’t see any rain cover, has a simple flat back, no side access for on the go, no chest or wait straps. Less space for non camera kit.
      Depends what you want to use it for, I’m always thinking of hikes in the mountains.

    great review, do you think a long telelens like Sony 200-600mm can fit in also with camp gears ?

    • @StephenJReid
      @StephenJReid  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve carried a 100-400 in this, not sure about 100-600, you’d need to check dimensions

    I found the dimensions on the camera insert. Is there room for a larger insert? I carry two smaller zooms, a large telephoto and two bodies and of course the supporting extras, batteries, cleaning stuff etc... My camera insert in my FStop is 11 x11 x 7, square with a depth of seven inches. A little bigger than the one that comes in the pack you reviewed.

    • @StephenJReid
      @StephenJReid  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could definitely fit a longer insert into it, would obviously reduce the space left for other things. But should fit in.

    How can it have a frame where there is a back opening with zip to access the camera module? Very curious about this

      @robinlee7531 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@StephenJReid only yourself can justify the additional cost for both front and rear access. Wait, my 70L Berghaus does have front access and only cost merely 20% of the Lowepro. And thanks for reviewing :)

    • @StephenJReid
      @StephenJReid  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah it’s definitely not cheap!
      I can see that being justified for professional photo & video use though as I haven’t really found any alternatives with the same features and pros could easily be carrying around £5000+ plus of gear on an outdoor shoot so £470 by comparison doesn’t seem so bad.
