Wait, so say I have some fear equipped and I apply a style to it. But then I eventually get new gear that's better and equip it, do I have to repurchase the style? If so that's really pricey
@Miss Mizz, before I logged off of ESO this evening, I ended up having a friend help me re-spec my character, because the one I DID have - I basically screwed up. I set up my mage-type character as a hands-on-weapons kinda dude (That was a dumbass move - pardon the "French", LOL !!!!) when my friend who helped me advised me to re-spec my points into Magicka or mage-based perks, so I may be working on that. Tomorrow when I get on for a while (probably most of the day unless it storms badly, then I probably will be online or watching TV.... :( ), my friend that is supposedly going to help me said, that, between NOW and the time I get on tomorrow, he'd be making me some mage-type armor for me to wear and mage-type weapons he said he'd work on getting for me. Apparently I suck at character builds, because my ORIGINAL character was supposed to be a mage-type guy but my goofy-@** had hands-on weapons like an idiot...... So it looks like I'll be getting help with that. Can't wait, because THEN, maybe I could go with a group and do some delves and level up well enough to not get my butt handed back to me in a few hits.

I cant use the styles of weapons and armor I found so far and I cant figure out why. Can you, please, tell me? All I can use at the outfit station are all racial outfits, nothing else.
Just found out myself from asking a friend, look for items with "Motif" or "Style" in their name. I haven't found any myself yet, but according to my source, it should be obvious when you get one. I hope this helps someone, cuz I couldn't find anyone else answering this frustrating question :)

Great. i have a hotkey to show helm, and not show helm. i'd like to get a house of reveries mask to use with my outfit armor. There is not the option to use a 'hat' in the out fitter. Is there someway to use a MOR and hotkey it to go on and off when not in battle?

Hey Miss Bizz, what happens when you create your outfit with 2H Sword and Bow equipped, and then afterwards you switch weapons to 2H Axe and Staff...with these new weapons, will there be any influence of the outfit on them? (like does that 2H Axe stay 2H Sword that you chose in your outfit, or does the coloring from Bow pass on the Staff)...And what happens when you switch back to your 2H Sword and Bow that you had equipped while creating the outfit? Will they keep the appearance from the outfit, or will that be lost after you unequip those weapons? In other words, i am trying to find out how outfits affect weapons when you change them to different piece, different type, different weapon class, or when you unequip and reequip them...(does the outfit settings pass on to different weapon pieces/types/class?)

This is just aesthetic right? Just like a costume but with armor that you can create? I am new and here to learn how to get the most out of playing. I was thinking the outfit slot was where you key in a different armor set, like heavy for pvp and light for questing. Was really hoping to be able to use hand to hand without having to hold a weapon... I wouldn't even need the weapons skills if it's a concern for pvp.... Not like I can stay in constant werewolf form to get the feel either....

I just use the free slot they give each character. I think the slots are overpriced as well

can you change a style on an armor set? Let's say i have an argonian hat of mother's sorrow. can i change it to a high elf one?

That's because outfits didn't exist. Outfits are more like "custom costumes".
With the outfit change token for some reason it dosent allow me to use it even tho I have one got no clue y
In the new update did take away everyone's custom outfit because my outfits are gone

Not that I know of. That is a known bug though about it putting on your outfits all the time :/

If you want to dye costumes (which I believe is the second option) you do need ESO+.

Uhm... You just need to know the motif to use it in an outfit. You should have it unlocked already there if you're able to craft that style.

Outfits are just for looks as you suspected. The actual armor your wear is what matters.
can i add outfit skins as highelf if they are for khazit for example? it dont work for me
