I drove this as part of m tour last year, it was only about 15 mins but omg it was incredible, the acceleration and it is so comfortable, love those seats!!

Just one thing , does the M5 start at €65k? I thought they were around the €100 mark? Did you say the one you’re test driving is €200k?!!

On the glitches in I drive which I seen you mention in this video and also the recent one in the new 330i I’ve never found it in the new 5 series to be honest. I do agree car play can be a bit annoying at times as it can have a mind of its own and just turn of the radio and start playing music from your phone or my pet hate is when you have google maps on the car screen and you check a whatapp message on your phone google maps goes of the screen. Also annoying that you can’t see WhatsApp messages on the screen and you have to ask it to read them. Ive heard that the new release of CarPlay will allow you to have one app open on your phone and another app open on the car screen at the same time which will help a lot.

20-30MPG is terrible but not the worst considering it's a V8, but ya know what, if I had the money for such a car the smiles per gallon would be above a 100. Great review Bob.
The issue with the fuel economy is the accompanying bill for vrt
I'd rather be broke and happy than rich and miserable, a little of both doesn't hurt though
They will tax the bejesus out of you.
The new M5 will likely be a plugin so you should get the plug in grant.
You don't think about the tax on a car like this, it'll hurt your brain. The tyres are over 350 each so tax is the least of your worries

My point on the plugin grant would be a hybrid M5 would have a co2 figure of 49 grams and would be in the lowest 14% bracket and will even have grants. They would make it likely 50 000 cheeper and we might see more of them I've never seen a new M5 outside of a review.
They must love your reviews aswel because someone done their homework, leaving a usb adaptor for you. I wonder is that standard or specially for the journalist that always points out the usb connectors?
If the world had Nat rotation it would create a quantum fluctuation. Also you should watch Prof Seth Lloyd on quantum time travel and many other interesting subjects but you need to clear your mind as the maths will leave you extremely confused this guy is a genius and based in the USA and head of Mechanical engineering
Excellent review. Reviews of such cars may not be possible in 10 years time when V8s are part of nostalgia history. The future owner of this beauty may be facing a depreciation cliff edge when it comes time to change it.
it will go up in value in the furture its got a glorious V8, and anyways its an object to be enjoyed. I peed off that borjn nilon tesla (glorified iPhone on wheels) youtuber. he had a short vid on the modal 3 super duper something going 0-155 in 30 seconds or some slow time that he thought was fast, I just replied, laferrafi V12 hybrid 0-186 15 seconds. he got a bit triggered. he is giving me the silent treatment now.

look at the button and knob position of those controls bobby boy, perhaps you could take a few pikkys and forward it to audi uk with a note saying"this is how you design a S A F E interior" !!!!!

Anyone else having issues with the sound on this? Nothing on my mobile phone, and at home on the desktop PC I have to have the volume up to maximum to hear it at just a reasonable sound level

Makes The Tesla Model S P100D Ludicrous seem cheap but not as a quick as one
P100 is quick but there's no emotion in the speed, that V8 howling makes a hell of a lot of difference

Daniel 1 I love to hear all the petrol heads hating on EVs. It means it will take the public so much longer to catch on to them and for them to go mainstream. Just watch next April when the car benefit rate on EVs is totally slashed. The maximum benefit in kind tax to pay on a 40k Model 3 in UK will become £320/year. Massive drop compared to petrol equivalents. The demand will (unfortunately) go berserk when company car drivers realise they will literally save themselves around £4,000/ year in take home pay. It will literally be a game changer. You heard it here first. Bob you may want to do in video about it in advance. It will be truly massive and no one is talking about it yet. Great channel by the way, love your reviews. By the way, I used to own the V8 Audi S5 before they spoiled it with the crappy V6 version. There really isn’t anything better than the smile that V8 roar brings to your face. However, that said now I have a Model S the surreality of silently accelerating equally as fast as that BMW brings with it a different form of elation. It’s interesting that the only difference between the experiences is sound stimulating the senses. There’s nothing that quite brings a smile to my face better than silently gliding past an engine screeching boy racer. Oh how times have changed ✅

All very well, but this is a museum piece looking for a home. Quite why BMW bother making exhibits for motoring museums I cannot imagine. Perhaps you should do a video on your governments plans for private motoring in the next few decades...
flickering inside lighting, instant fail , otherwise it's non EV so it''s out of date. 200K euro and the reliability will be suspect BMW are taking the p....
They're only flickering on the camera because they're LED... Not out of date, I'd take a gulping V8 over some slow quiet coffee express that won't get you far either and those batteries would deplete with charge cycles. Think how much CO2 emissions the production of those batteries actually requires..
@@Niko56PL they are only flickering LED because BMW cannot be bothered to use slightly more expensive control circuity that does not require PWM to produce dimming.
Tesla slow? clearly you have missed all of the ludicrous videos. CO2 emissions are a V8 forte. Tesla model 3 will still be buzzing around way after this BMW is scrap.
@@tomquimby8669 They should not flicker in person.. Cars are nothing compared to cows and ships anyway. Teslas are very fast but what fun is it without any sound and rawness. Im pretty sure those batteries will not last at full capacity as long as the V8 engine would.

I drove my two on extended road trips annually but came to realize the risk of a breakdown in the middle of injun country - and there was ALWAYS a maintenance issue somewhere along the trip.
there's a very good reason why purchase prices are falling (and it's not the economy..)
The flickering comes from the frame rate of the camera not matching the LED flicker. All lights flicker except the old halogen ones or an element bulb that uses heat to light. It's the camera that shows the flicker, it's impossible to see with your eye.
Watch some motorsport on BBC to see flickers all over the place as they shoot with high-speed cameras.
Now you should apologise to @nikogaming as he is dead right on the flicker.
Also, Model S will run out of power and speed while the M5 will keep on going, there's almost no difference in the 0-100 time of either car.
