Hi, for a driver you make 1200~1500 per week. If you own a truck you make 3500~4500 per week. Am also a trucker in America. Karibuni sana pahali yake.

Getting your papers is a different thing compared to the number of years you’ve been here. Simply to put, you should have been in the country for a minimum of three years to be considered for cdl

Good work but how to get the job from outside the US is pretty hard. Getting a visa is a nightmare.

We need to stop converting the $$ to shillings. The standered of living here is so different. On that salary maybe his paying rent of 1200/month then food, internet, electricity, insurance, miscellaneous
In Kenya or Uganda how many people pay insurance, wifi and the rent is not $1200/month. So yes it's good money but converting is not helpful.

I'm tracking driver in burundi I work everyday no weekend but end the I get 150$
All these markets are different. If we through the expenses track drivers go through here in USA you will realize how much money is counted as income..Keep doing what you do and hopefully one day you will inspire someone with your story.Big up!!

I’m curious, which training academy did he attend that never taught him about coupling. That’s mandatory for every driving academy as far as I know.
We will ask him about the company he used to train next time though we don't mention companies as it serves as advertising

No .all that is separate under truck expenses..salary is salary
If you’re owner operator then you meet the expenses yourself but company drivers basically don’t pay anything but then they’re paid less than o/o
Obviously you need to know how to drive before going into the trucking. Do you need to show proof of your previous driving experience before you start the course?

We had a green card option but the period just elapsed a few days ago ..other options includes applying for the different visa options..check on the internet.
