@@vincegalila7211 retro johnny was refering to something from an early GoT episode when Dani was told if there aren't at least 4 deaths at a wedding dothraki consider it a dull affair i was actually in the comments to say the same
You totally missed what was happening when she came in wearing green, that was a war declaration, they literally said it, there is a lot of subtle dialogue that is important that you are gonna miss if you're not careful, that was a big turning point hence why there was so much focus on it.
@@MichaelAury Well directory after it they were still speculating what was going on in that scene, looked pretty clear they missed it, and looking at the comments not just to me either, but it's no big deal, but it's easy to miss key things if you are not paying attention.
The green dress Alicent had when she walk down in the wedding is the color from the Hightowers family and I’m pretty sure that her wearing green meant declaring war
@@JessChillN_ Yeah 😂 Daemon is the best example of why we love Targaryens imo. They're a bit crazy sure, but also they're extraordinary, so f...ng strong and intelligent. They just don't give a f and I love it, lol. It's great to have an ally with them BUT when you're their enemy... damn, good luck! 😅😂
@@willfaulkner7225 Well, she wasn't offended so maybe she likes it?? 😏 Who knows.. 🤔🙃 I mean it's not for us to judge their husband-wife relationship, every couple has their little sins... lmao. Also I didn't say they're PERFECT lol as everyone they has their pros and cons, I just said I love their strengths. He's also the one who sent his daughter to Viserys in his moment of grief to comfort him and become his wife, ultimately to secure his own position, so he has orchestrated everything and is now orchestrating stealing Rhaenyra's claim. Not a great time for him to grow on someone lmao.
I don't get why Alicent feels like Rhaenyra owed her the truth about her virtue when Alicent herself was seeing Viserys after his wife died for 6 months and she didn't tell Rhaenyra about that so I don't think she should expect the same from Rhaenyra. Alicent is upset that Rhaenyra got to choose who she slept with to where as Alicent didn't get to choose and Alicent feels like that's unfair.
Alicent didn’t do any of it willingly though. And she literally COULDNT tell Rhaenyra even if she wanted to. The king told her not to tell her and Otto clearly didn’t want that either; that’s the two most powerful men in the realm. She can’t go against that. So yes, she’s upset when Rhaenyra has no regard for how this world they’re in works and does only what she wants without thinking of consequence. I think another thing which helps understanding Alicent here is that she’s jealous. Not just jealous of Rhaenyra’s position and how she can choose, but jealous of Criston. In some way, it is clear that she loved Rhaenyra (and it’s even confirmed by the actors/showrunners/writers) and this felt like a total betrayal of that love and trust she put in her. Alicent foolishly believed her and defended her and all she got in return was betrayal and her father (even if he is a vile man and a bad father, he is still her only ‘family and support’ there) sent away.
Yes, that's part of it but if Rhaenyra is lying to her then how can Alicent believe anything she says?? Could she trust that if Rhaenyra swears not to touch her children she will respect that?
she has every reason to expect it. alicent was forced and under orders from her father, which you conveniently left out. rhaenyra did it purely for her own reckless self indulgence, knowing it risked criston's head.
Just in case you didn’t hear it, the reason why Queen Alicent was wearing a green dress was a way for her to declare war on Rhaenyra. House Hightower’s war color is green since their beacon on the High Tower glows green when they summon their army to a war. Queen Alicent is also a couple steps ahead of Rhaenyra too because she has the her house’s armies standing with her and possibly a knight of the Kingsguard on her side as well. And the guy who has married Rhaenyra is named Laenor Velaryon(Lae-nor). His sister is Laena, the girl who flirted with Daemon and their mother is Princess Rhaenys(Cousin to King Viserys and the wife of Lord Corlys). And Otto is 100% right about there being a war once Rhaenyra ascends. Some people will not accept her as Queen because Viserys now has a son named Prince Aegon and some will choose him to be king rather than Rhaenyra because he’s the firstborn son and rightful heir in their eyes. And Otto is also right about Rhaenyra possibly killing Alicent’s children in order to have a peaceful ascension. One of the reasons why Alicent is now supporting her children’s claims is so she can protect them from Rhaenrya(although I personally don’t think she would do kill her half-siblings). I don’t think they would choose Daemon to be king because Aegon has a stronger claim than he does. A child of the King has a stronger claim to the throne than a sibling. And the guy who told Alicent of the moon tea is Larys Strong, the youngest son of Lord Lyonel Strong(Current Hand of the King)and younger brother of Ser Harwin Strong(the one who saved Rhaenyra at the wedding) Sorry if you guys think this is a mean comment that isn’t my intentions at all.
im so glad you commented this lol it bugged the hell outta me watching them talk over that part. one of the best scenes in the episode and they completely missed it lol
The Green Wedding. "One flesh. one heart. I am yours and you're mine. Whatever may come"...that was about the two tortured souls, being united by fate, in the godswood, under the moonlit tree. It's them who were forever becoming one, until the bitter end. And together they will make a king.
It needs to be said: Criston is NOT from Dorne. His mother was Dornish, but his father and himself are from the Stormlands. Dorne isn’t yet a part of the Seven Kingdoms, and Criston fought in war against “Dornish incursions” along the southern border. He’s a Stormlander whose half-Dornish.
Just some lil details I noticed and loved. 1. The red beads in Rhaenyra’s hair matching the red bead detailing on Daemon’s top. 2. The crabfeeder’s mask now being a part of Corlys’ hoard/collection of trophies and treasures. 3. During the messy part of the wedding party when Laenor was getting hurt the entire time Laena was doing what she could to get to her brother despite the potential danger to herself. Love their bond 🥺. 4. Harwin was already throwing his dad looks when things got messy. My mans was ready to get in there. And once he got the go ahead he literally just pushed like 4 grown adults out of his way like it was as easy as pushing aside air. And note for the first few seconds we see him being about as gentle as he can be pushing and shoving his way to get to the Princess, it’s only after she’s literally shoved into the side of the table and falls he starts throwing hands and is more or less DONE telling people to move NICELY.
Christian killed Joffrey because he has no self-control and possibly to ensure no one else would learn of his misdeeds. Many believe Rhaenyra lying was what instigates a feud but always forget Allicent lied about seducing her bestfriend’s father. I’m not sure if you missed it but Allicents wearing green was an informal declaration of war.
That is true with Alicent, it is a bit hypocritical yet human in a way she didn't think about Rhaenrya feeling betrayed and lied to with her meeting her father in secret tho it was something Otto pushed her into and not something she wanted for herself (not an excuse tho). Only that Rhanerya lied to her just when they were mending their friendship after years of Rhaenrya being angry with her. There is also a ting of jealousy I think, Alicent is someone who does things that are expected of her or that are proper tho she doesn't want those things while Rhanerya gets to choose who she loses her virginity to and suffer no consequences for her impropriety. Also the young actresses playing the roles purposely suggested that Alicent could feel more then just friendship for Rhaenrya, if you look at it from that view it adds another layer to her character if she is in love with Rhaenrya but is very repressed due to the times they live in and Alicent not wanting to be "improper" so she can never have Rhaenrya in her mind then it could be very upsetting to hear them carry on with someone else. Alicent could even be so repressed she's not even aware of her true feelings so that makes her very interesting as a character, more complex. I think they did such a great job making these characters multi-dimensional not just one note so you can see why some are like they are and even sympathize with them but also dislike their choices or what they do.
@@roguechevelle Agreed. Both actresses indicated in an interview they were both playing the role as of they were lovers. Rhaenyra was the one not sepia while Allicent was in love. Many people don’t realize that when they watch it. I thought those were brilliant choices and I hope towards the end we get Allicent admitting her feelings even if she is in a room alone.
It kinda makes sense though because once Rhaenyra ascends some people will choose Aegon as king and some will choose her and to secure her claim she would have to kill Alicent’s children to have a peaceful ascension to the throne. And she already hates her half-siblings too, so it’s possible.
@@Mcherri as soon as I found out the books are told by unreliable sources I dont believe much about what is said however your comment is something I definitely believe.

Criston's whole idea was very selfish.. HE CHOSE to break his oath and sleep with Rhaenyra then he expected her to abandon her duty, title, and family so that he can feel better about HIS decision...
@@motivationmike4722 yep and it was made clear he liked Rhaenyra prior to her making the first move so all that BS of ppl trying to say she forced him into it or he couldn’t refuse is obnoxious
@@iris-xo but who initiated and kept insisting the sex? Was it Cole or was it Rhaenyra? Cole asked her to give his helmet back, but she pulled him into her room. He asked her if she was done playing, but she grinned, moved forward at his face and kissed him. He kept saying no and looked back at the door, but she hold his arm tightly, and she began removing his armor off. If the role were reversed, if a man seduced a woman like how Rhaenyra seduced Cole into sex, would you say it's the woman's fault too? Lol. Hypocrite 😂
The ending montage was my favorite scene up to this point. Give me the red hue of the weirdwood tree glowing in twilight, give me the dim lights, give me the gloomy ambience of a GoT wedding with an equally gloomy Ramin Djawadi soundtrack & hook it to my veins! That pause when Criston looks up & you hear the final note of that haunting tune? So well done! The uncharacteristically heartfelt exchange between Otto and Alicent was the most significant moment so far. It's the Tywin Jaime "we can establish a dynasty that last a thousand years" scene. We Light the Way is the motto of House Hightower. This is the episode the Greens come into their own. Out of this cursed wedding the ties that bind are lost and found forever. Rhaenyra and Laenor were exchanging wedding vows, but it was Alicent and Criston who were getting “married”.
Thats not true.. everyone else's grandmother is married. They have been marrying since the dawn of man. Everybody's baker's blacksmith's sister's handmaiden is married.
@@IanM92 No violence at wedding but at tourney Ser Criston Cole crack his helmet with his morning star, which make Joffrey fell in coma, after six days he died.
For real though. Viserys cause of death is officially going to be leprosy but honestly that’s only gonna be maybe 10% of the cause. The rest is absolutely going to be the stress induced by his own family. That aside though we really gotta talk about Ser Criston Cole. I’ve seen so many reactors bseem to think his words and reactions in this episode are coming from a place of being heartbroken in Rhaenyra rejecting his proposal and being pressed over her getting married & more or less knowing the most he can ever be is her secret lover. And I’m sure that plays a part in all this but I haven’t seen a lot of people discussing the matter of his PRIDE in all of this. It’s clear that Criston is not in a good place in this episode, I mean we see him more or less ready to commit seppuku till Alicent stops him. But really listen to what he says to Rhaenyra. He talks about having soiled his white cloak, how he’s broken his vows, how the only thing he seems to consider of worth about himself has been marred by his lapse in honor in breaking his vow of celibacy. The way he talks about it, it’s almost in the same tones you’ll hear zealots talk about themselves after they’ve sinned. And he’s so quick to tell on himself to Alicent, which-- SCREWING UP HIS VOWS THERE TELLING ON HIMSELF AND RHAENYRA IN THE PROCESS IS N O T PROTECTING HER, how easy just how he was acting at the wedding party made it for Joffrey to figure out that he’s who Rhaenyra’s paramour is, and then later in the godswood well…. That coupled with his arguably impossible proposal to Rhaenerya and his response when she rejects him. Sure it may be colored with shades of love but ultimately this man more than anything seems consumed by guilt of what he’s done and is trying to find a way out. Marrying Rhaenyra and running away with her? Didn’t work. Confessing to the crime to the queen? Didn’t work. We see him slowly but surely unravel until he gets to the point where the man is ready to end it himself… I’m not saying he doesn’t love Rhaenyra. But I’m not entirely sold on him being IN love with her. More than anything I think his actions in this episode were driven by guilt, pride, his own ego, and-- I feel even a lack of awareness of himself, others, just reality. No cap man was kinda acting selfish & self-centered with his proposal in the more you look at it the more I imagine it’s easier to see how it’s more about himself and how he feels and looks vs about THEM. Even his reaction to Rhaenyra more or less telling him her fiancé is ok with them remaining lovers like it’s an insult and hurtful to remain as they are to eachother. Rhaenyra clearing wasn’t trying to insult him, or hurt him, yet he acts like she did which in comparison to him asking her to throw away the throne and her family and her name???? It all together just comes off as extremely short sighted, self-centered, egotistical, and selfish. And even while he’s pitching his proposal-- watch his body language. He keeps pointing, gesturing to HIMSELF…….. He may have love for Rhae but personally my opinion is that his proposal had next to nothing to do with Love and giving the woman he loves an escape to a happier life and everything to do with giving himself an OUT of the choices he regrets.
completely agree, he exposes himself during his proposal to run away that he is not proposing it out of love but to rescue himself from his own bad choices. Leanor's lover, who genuinely seemed to love him, was happy to continue their relationship in secret. Criston however was too prideful and careless. Because he admitted to Alicent what happened, somebody uninvolved was now aware and thus he could never continue a secret relationship with rhaenyra, even if he had been genuinely in love and wanted to do so after all. He ruined it all for himself, first by sleeping with her and then by opening up to Alicent, and if he couldn't have happiness then Leanor's lover shouldn't either in his mind so he killed him in a rage of anger at himself.
Sir Criston is a perfect manly man that can't do no wrong!! he's an alpha male! it's all Hoenyra's fault for seducing him in the first place! She was lucky to be proposed by him, but instead of accepting it, she chose to marry a fa990t and be a wh0re sleeping with all of westerosi men. and good for him for unaliveing that fa990t at the wedding 💖
@@thoroughlyrustled6186 only if he told on himself and by extension her. I get where you’re coming from but Rhaenyra actually isn’t to blame for Criston’s choices. He’s a grown man. A knight of the kingsguard. More than capable of having physically removed himself from the situation if he truly wanted no part in it and without harming Rhaenyra in the process. You can make the argument that there was an imbalance of power with her being a princess and the heir apparent to the throne and more or less his BOSS. But-- context. It isn’t nearly that cut and dry. This is a relationship that is based in business with him being her sworn knight yes but it’s made clear a few times that there is a genuine fondness for eachother that goes beyond the bonds of duty. Criston was never in danger of being fired or being ‘in trouble’ with Rhaenyra had he simply walked away. Things may have been awkward in the aftermath but in my opinion I do believe that later on they’d have talked it over and through and probably laughed about it after some apologies and things might’ve gone on as they had and their friendship or whatever term you want to give their relationship before strengthened by the incident. Instead when Criston has more than a few moments to simply walk away he lets her draw him further into the room, doesn’t stop her from removing his armor and ultimately CHOOSES to remove his own cloak and return her physical affections. Further into the scene we clearly see them smiling and laughing together. Man doesn’t look like he’s been forced or compromised to me. Should Rhaenyra have opened the door to the events that unfolded? Absolutely not. No. Bad girl. Bad horny TEENAGER (she’s like 18/19 in that Ep so legally an adult but still in her TEENS). She shouldn’t have. She started it. But Criston is a GROWN MAN and his literal job is to protect the Princess. I would think that would likely include making stupid decisions when she’s feeling sorts of ways or at the very least not involving himself in them when she makes them. Rhaenyra may have started it, but it was his job to end it before anything actually happened. Physically he was capable, morally he should have. He didn’t. Rhaenyra is 💯 responsible for the choices she makes. As Criston Cole is of his own. Whatever his reasons for letting himself be seduced, they were his own, and it was a choice he made, one that Rhaenyra had no control over. No one ever said Rhaenyra wasn’t selfish. I’m just not a fan of people who act like she’s solely responsible for how things turned out for Criston.
At his core, Daemon sees himself as Valerian; he wants to ride dragons, conquer lands, marry a white-haired bride of pure Valerian blood (*cough* like Viserys had *cough*), make white-haired dragon-riding children, and restore the power and pride of the Valerian empire. No matter how beautiful or spunky or highborn Lady Rhea was, she would never have been enough for him.
Its so funny to see the reactors liking Ser Criston in this episode, as we all did except the readers of Fire and Blood, then the next episode we all hate him, and from episode now on lol. Next episode is the biggest time jump and it might be confusing, and I know you already saw that but wanted to point it out.
Ser Criston isnt actually from Dorne he is from Stromlands more specificly dornish marches , he even said that he served in combat against the Dornish . The idea that he is from Dorne is becae Alicent said so but well she wrong
Not Spoiler: If you can remember, The Citadel or the place where Maesters train is in Old Town the home of House Hightower. So there's this theory originating from the books that Otto is plotting with the Maesters of the Red Keep to slowly kill King Viserys through poison. Edit: If you missed the conversation between Larys & Harwin Strong during Alicent's entrance, Larys told Harwin "what's the color of the beacon of Old Town when they call it's bannermen to war?" (not the exact wording) to which Harwin replied "Green" indicating that Alicent's declaring war against Rhaenyra by wearing a Green dress at her wedding. And it should be noted that most of the time if not all that we saw Alicent after her & Viserys' wedding she was always wearing red/black since she's now a Targaryen by name.
That's a silly theory... why would Otto start to poison the king from the first episodes?? That's so risky, if the king dies while Aegon is still too young Rhaenyra has all the power to do whatever she wants. Also, the king is not that sick in the books, he's just lazy and fat. Anyway, Condal has confirmed, Visaerys has leprosy, that's why the cuts don't heal and they keep chopping up pieces of him.
If Otto believes that Rhaenyra will kill his daughter's children after Viserys' eventual death, what does it say about Otto that he pushed Alicent into the marriage that produced those kids?
Otto painted himself into a corner by pushing Viserys to name Rhaenyra heir purely because of his hatred for Deamon but then when it's time for Rhaenyra to take the throne, he has a grandson that would be king had he not pushed Rhaenyra to be heir in the first place.
D-did you just say Ser Criston is the Jon Snow of this show????? 😅 Also, you missed the significance of Alicent being latr and showing up in a green dress.
In the book, Daemon's wife falls from the horse and dies and this is what is said at no time and it is said that it was Daemon remembering that the book fire and blood is narrated by dubious narrators The book is told by rumors and gossip so it is not reliable in the book it says that the Daemon always hate his wife the daemon was forced to marry his wife she is not important in the story In the book there is nothing about her just that she is married to Daemon and that after a while she falls off the horse and dies that's all they have in the book about daemon's wife As I said, Daemon's wife is not important in the story, nobody cares about her and just when Rhaenys says that Daemon's wife died, nobody called the news that she said it because she It's not important, in the books it's not known if it was the daemon that killed his wife because when she dies the daemon is fighting a war so it's not known if it was him already in the series The Scriptwriters said that it was the daemon that killed his wife, she was very stupid because the Daemon is not the one to kill his wife because she had already lost her body movement So much so that he was leaving but that donkey opened her mouth so he kills her, the Scriptwriters are right said that Daemon is not going to kill his wife if she doesn't open her mouth more like She opened her mouth so I kill her Ser christian if you dirty your white mando it was because you wanted to because Rhaenyra didn't put a knife to your neck forcing you to do what you did, do you really think that Rhaenyra And to drop everything just to be with him my god this girl she is a princess she is heir to the throne she has her customs she is not to drop everything to have a simple life , Rhaenyra is not in love with Christian she just wants to have fun she just wants sex nothing else Christian you are very emotional you are very deluded you are stupid rhaenyra would never give up everything for you ,Christian You and only a knight have nothing to offer her
Ser Criston just wanted Rhaenyra to fun off with him because he feels guilty about breaking his vows. If Rhaenyra ran off with him her father would send spy's to look for them plus how is Rhaenyra going to hide her dragon, her dragon will follow her. Also Criston did kill Joffrey Lonmouth because he was hoping that he'd be executed for it and the reason he confessed to Alicent is because he hoped she'd have him executed for breaking his vows.
*they make an insane, ridiculous, completely improbable prediction* me, laughing nervously: "i know haha... wouldn't that be crazy.................... o_o"
This episode was so good the first time I watched it! This episode got me really intrigued about the book. Once the show ended I got the book and read it in a few days 😂 I can’t wait to see what they do next season!
37:37 "we already kinda thought the king was gonna die for a long time." No kidding, every 5 minutes *something happens*: oh I bet the king's gonna die now.
26:05 There's nothing technical about it. She LIED. To her best friend. That stuck up for her. On her dead mother's name. Now, Alicent is hearing her father's voice in her head. She could've trusted her to keep her and her children safe but now? Now she has to consider that her "best friend" may do the most politically expedient thing and have any threats to her claim to the throne (her son) dealt with. This is 100% Rhaenyra's fault that Alicent feels like she has to go on the defensive.
For the record, it's never said outright, but Viserys has Leprosy. That's what's slowly killing him and eating his flesh. That's according to book lore and Paddy Considine, the actor portraying Viserys from an interview. Ser Crispon was, until this point, Rhaenyra's sworn protector. Now he is Alicent's sworn protector.
Which is kinda weird bc leprosy is contagious, not as contagious as ancient peoples believed, but the ppl immediately around him especially his wife and their children would have it.
@@DamnTheBeavers he wasn’t that likeable in books either, the show just didn’t even try to make him likeable and it’s only gonna get worse from here onwards.

Interesting thing to note, in the first episode they made a point of saying that Rhaenyra smelled like Dragon after riding Syrax. Daemon most likely travelled to the Vale on dragonback, which is a much longer distance, and unless he stopped to bathe, he would reek of dragon, so when he reached out his hand, the horse smelled dragon and reacted as any animal would to the scent of a large predator. Which is why it bucked and tumbled taking Rhea with it.
I love the character Alicent. Many consider her a witch and call her the second Cersei, but this is not at all the case. She was on the side of Rhaenyra to the last, she was against violence even years later. Her father wanted the throne, but not her. It's a shame that the writers decided to cast the black faction as the goodies, even though things were a lot more complicated in the books. For example, Rhaenyra was also known as 'Maegor with Tits' for her cruelty actions. But if the screenwriters artificially made her good, then how will they subsequently write down the hatred of the people for her? I really hope we don't see Game of Thrones 2.0. where from the "positive" Daenerys the writers made a tyrant in one series. It would be meaningless and stupid.
The fact that u think cersei's a "witch" proves that u know nothing about this universe, so please sit this one out instead of preaching what others are supposed to perceive....
@@willfaulkner7225 I quoted how Alicent is called and with whom they are compared on social networks. People were looking at Alicent because she had on a green dress not a red/ black targaryan colors. Something about wartime colors with the Hightower clan.
It's just impact bias. People tend to remember bad things that happen than normal ones, even if the normal ones outnumber the bad ones in terms of ratio. Just like failed births in the series as well. There are more wedding and births that were successful, but they easily get forgotten because people recall the bad/failed ones better.
Fun fact: Daemon killing Rhea Royce is actually a change from the source material. In the books he was nowhere near the Vale when she was actually thrown from her horse in front of witnesses during a hunt, afterwards she lingered in a coma for seven days and woke up one morning saying she felt fine. She died that afternoon. It was an interesting choice to make Daemon her killer in the show, show off his "rogue prince" credentials even more. And to answer your question, why doesn't he like her? Because she's a nobody. The Royce's are an old Vale house but aren't very important in the grander scheme, Daemon was married to Rhea at a time when there were many more Targaryens (the king at the time had 9 children, several of whom had several grandchildren each) and they had to look at more options than just the great houses to have enough potential suitors for their children. But Rhea doesn't bring anything to the table that Daemon cares about, which is power. He didn't get anything out of being married to her.
In the books, it is hinted that Daemon might have arranged Rhea's death. Just like it is implied Daemon and Rhaenyra might have arranged the death of Laenor. The show just removed the hints and makes things more exact.
I love Otto. He's very much a product of his time and situation. He plays the Game of Thrones with the best of them and is selfishly trying to boost his station and that of his house, but when he speaks to Allicent here you can see he still loves her in his own way. He's leaving her to play the Game on her own and gives her the best advice he can think of that will keep her alive. And he's 100% right, Alicent's only options are go all-in for Aegon or stick to Rhaenyra and pray she's merciful.
Exactly. He was being forced to watch the love of his life get married in front of him and was sworn to protect her for the rest of his life; an oath he broke already and had tremendous shame for breaking. Joffrey def wasn't threatening him but Criston certainly may have perceived it as a threat. I'm "Team Rhaenyra" but she unintentionally corrupted Criston Cole. She was attracted to an honorable and strong-willed soldier, chose him to swear an oath and then manipulated him to break it. She was young and wasn't considering the consequences.
By thinking Criston is Rhaenyra's paramour, as in side piece, Joffrey thought Criston was "just like them", as in more open minded to these sort of sexual liberties. Joffrey didn't know Criston walked away the moment he realized Rhaenyra had no intention to marry him. Criston was literally asking for a death sentence for his trangression. He's too honorable. He's like a psychotic Ned Stark. Therefore when Joffrey approached him saying "we know about your little secret", Criston took Joffrey's politicking as a direct threat to his honor and his white cloak. If he was willing to die himself, what is he gonna do to someone else? The key here is to remember that Cole is a knight from the middle ages. His conception of morals and honor are not like ours. There is no "one night stand" in his vocabulary.

The typical reaction around this point for most reactors is to love Daemon and Rhaenyra and hate Otto and Alicent. You two have a way more nuanced take on things and I love it. Looking forward to seeing how your opinions ebb and flow over the next few episodes.
while otto would be right about Rhaenyra needing to kill aegon to secure her claim if they were just any other house but they are targaryens, it wouldn’t matter what the other houses feel about her being Queen, the Targaryens are too powerful for any of the other houses to have a say. Like they said in the beginning of the series “the only thing that could destroy the house of the dragon is itself” Also at this point in time many of the houses in Westeros actually support Rhaenyra, she is named “the realms delight”
You guys (especially Anthony) just talk to much over VERY IMPORTANT exposition, like why Alicent was wearing green. You talk over crucial details and then spend the rest of the episode talking still about the thing the show just told. It's frustrating watching this because you would've understood if you just payed more attention.
Omg when the baby was crying...I thought it was Alicent Criston and Aemond in the same room for the first time!! That woulda been too iconic 😭. But Aemond hasn't been born yet so that has to be Helaena.

Alicent wearing green was a move and a declaration of war... Her entrance was an epic esceane....
Lmao Otto was just setting himself up. He’s literally the one that got Rhaenyra to be the heir.
Alicent didn't deserve knowledge of Rhaenyra's interna; plumbing, or if it was "intact." What a Karen.
@@blissinchains agreed
And the guy who told Alicent of the moon tea is Larys Strong, the youngest son of Lord Lyonel Strong(Current Hand of the King)and younger brother of Ser Harwin Strong(the one who saved Rhaenyra at the wedding)
Sorry if you guys think this is a mean comment that isn’t my intentions at all.

Exactly !!
Exactly even though she had many chances to kill them in the books she didn’t she showed mercy in her own way.
It kinda makes sense though because once Rhaenyra ascends some people will choose Aegon as king and some will choose her and to secure her claim she would have to kill Alicent’s children to have a peaceful ascension to the throne. And she already hates her half-siblings too, so it’s possible.

For such a serious and dramatic show, you two sure do laugh a lot.

Rhaenyra too was selfish, knowingly seducing a member of the Kingsguard in which his punishment would be castration or death, best case The Wall
Criston isn’t innocent but Rhaenyra isn’t either. She instigated that whole affair and seduced him so 50% of it is her fault.

Did they both understand the significance of her wearing green entering the wedding hall?
Thanks for uploading these daily it has been great watching this with yall!
If Otto believes that Rhaenyra will kill his daughter's children after Viserys' eventual death, what does it say about Otto that he pushed Alicent into the marriage that produced those kids?
Watch out when DAEMON is SILENT. ✌
Otto painted himself into a corner by pushing Viserys to name Rhaenyra heir purely because of his hatred for Deamon but then when it's time for Rhaenyra to take the throne, he has a grandson that would be king had he not pushed Rhaenyra to be heir in the first place.

As I said, Daemon's wife is not important in the story, nobody cares about her and just when Rhaenys says that Daemon's wife died, nobody called the news that she said it because she It's not important, in the books it's not known if it was the daemon that killed his wife because when she dies the daemon is fighting a war so it's not known if it was him already in the series The Scriptwriters said that it was the daemon that killed his wife, she was very stupid because the Daemon is not the one to kill his wife because she had already lost her body movement So much so that he was leaving but that donkey opened her mouth so he kills her, the Scriptwriters are right said that Daemon is not going to kill his wife if she doesn't open her mouth more like She opened her mouth so I kill her
Ser christian if you dirty your white mando it was because you wanted to because Rhaenyra didn't put a knife to your neck forcing you to do what you did, do you really think that Rhaenyra And to drop everything just to be with him my god this girl she is a princess she is heir to the throne she has her customs she is not to drop everything to have a simple life , Rhaenyra is not in love with Christian she just wants to have fun she just wants sex nothing else Christian you are very emotional you are very deluded you are stupid rhaenyra would never give up everything for you ,Christian You and only a knight have nothing to offer her
Ser Criston just wanted Rhaenyra to fun off with him because he feels guilty about breaking his vows.
Oh sweet summer Childrens... you dont know what is coming
20:46 for the record, there's plenty of hidden clues in this show's dialogue and in the background of the shots btw
*they make an insane, ridiculous, completely improbable prediction*
me, laughing nervously: "i know haha... wouldn't that be crazy....................
It amazes me when some people can't recognize the gross misogyny & bigotry in Cole's thinking...
While you’re at it throw in racism, xenophobic, homophobic, Lmao
As in being threatened to have his secret exposed and ending it?
26:05 There's nothing technical about it. She LIED. To her best friend. That stuck up for her. On her dead mother's name. Now, Alicent is hearing her father's voice in her head. She could've trusted her to keep her and her children safe but now? Now she has to consider that her "best friend" may do the most politically expedient thing and have any threats to her claim to the throne (her son) dealt with. This is 100% Rhaenyra's fault that Alicent feels like she has to go on the defensive.
Sooooo weird saying "Awwwww" when Rhaenyra and Criston spoke on the boat.
Criston fck it up when he "soiled" his white cloak.
The weddings in Westeros been lit for a long time.
@@mediumvillain I was thinking the same thing.
Loving Criston is such a bad idea. Just wait.
still a better person than daemon...and the show ruined his character just for the shitshow at the end of this episode
@@DamnTheBeavers fr the show did criston so dirty
@@DamnTheBeavers he wasn’t that likeable in books either, the show just didn’t even try to make him likeable and it’s only gonna get worse from here onwards.
Can We Just Appreciate How Amazing The Song Is That Comes On When Rhaenyra And Laenor Start Dancing And Plays ThroughOut The Wedding. The Way It Builds And Builds, You Know Something Crazy Is Going To Happen, Something Bad
It’s Amazing, But Prolly Not Something You Can Pick Up With One Earbud On
Interesting thing to note, in the first episode they made a point of saying that Rhaenyra smelled like Dragon after riding Syrax.
For me, an arrogant and cruel woman who kills her enemies and desires power is very different from Alicente in season 1. I don't understand why you even wrote your comment to me, lol. If you don't like "getting advice" from people like me, don't give it yourself)
@@alexass8987 that's what I'm saying, if u think cersei is just "an arrogant and cruel woman who kills her enemies and desires power" then u r a delusional fool who doesn't deserve to be called a fan of asoiaf universe.... No wonder everybody hates alicunt, cause her delusional fans(all 5 or 6 of them) don't understand what a deliciously complex character is....
@@willfaulkner7225 Gosh, it's funny to me, because I answer you. Apparently I'm really bored..
@@alexass8987 watch something else then, constantly watching GOT and it's derivatives will eventually bore anyone....
Anthony just burst out "Otto kinda grow on me" 😆
A dothraki wedding without 3 deaths is considered dull. The wedding was dull😂
People were looking at Alicent because she had on a green dress not a red/ black targaryan colors. Something about wartime colors with the Hightower clan.
Seriously though, weddings are practically a death sentence in GOT
It's just impact bias. People tend to remember bad things that happen than normal ones, even if the normal ones outnumber the bad ones in terms of ratio. Just like failed births in the series as well. There are more wedding and births that were successful, but they easily get forgotten because people recall the bad/failed ones better.
I laughed extremely hard at "cant they just hyphenate?"
LOL My dude was really gonna go save the King.
This wedding is considered a dull affair
From what i've heard and understand, Viserys is suffering from a form of Leprosy.
Kinda wrong about it.
Watch HOTD inside the episode ep. 5
Maybe Daemon did in the books too.
In the books, it is hinted that Daemon might have arranged Rhea's death. Just like it is implied Daemon and Rhaenyra might have arranged the death of Laenor.
The show just removed the hints and makes things more exact.
“Criston is the Jon Snow of this show”
👀 welp…….
Show Jon Snow is pretty boring so they got it right ig
😂 nice guy with a cane...is the first chaos is a ladder
I love Otto. He's very much a product of his time and situation. He plays the Game of Thrones with the best of them and is selfishly trying to boost his station and that of his house, but when he speaks to Allicent here you can see he still loves her in his own way. He's leaving her to play the Game on her own and gives her the best advice he can think of that will keep her alive. And he's 100% right, Alicent's only options are go all-in for Aegon or stick to Rhaenyra and pray she's merciful.
Are you crazy... How is criston the jon snow of this show.. LoL...
I love your mom sweater from The Promised Neverland
I need your reaction for next episode like right now LOL... Can't wait... Love you guys!!!
Ser Criston was in deep emotional turmoil over the whole situation. When Ser Joffery spoke with him, Ser Criston just snapped and went after him.
Yep. Ser Joffrey should’ve just kept his new found information to himself for later.
@@TheRoyalFino He does not see her as the love of his life. You completely misinterpreted why her asked her to marry him. It’s about his pride/honor.
It could’ve also been for love too. It could’ve been both for pride and love.
26:23 did you listen to what they said about her dress being green????.....
"he's too honourable".... Lol.... Stfu,... If u wanna simp for him, go ahead but don't even dare to compare him with ned....
@@willfaulkner7225 I literally said " *psychotic* Ned Stark". That's not a compliment. I was referring to the fact that in parts of the world even today, there's men who commit "honor killings" (google is ur friend). I was talking about that type of puritanical zealot "honor". Typical Blackcel lacking basic comprehension skills when I'm making your argument for you.
The point of the post was that viewers often judge these characters from a 21st century POV and say dumb stuff like "why is he so angry over a one night stand". It's because a medieval knight like Cole will have a totally different conception of what "honor" is.
@@eadred9164 lol....

Lol love how you guys are killing the King every 5 minutes since episode 1🤭🤭.
Did you guys miss the significance of the green dress ? Not sure cause that part wasn’t in the reaction
