I just tried your bulgogi recipe today, it was so delicious and my husband said it tasted like the one in the restaurant 👍thank you for the recipes, not complicated ingredients. The best bulgogi recipe in TH-cam !
This is the only cut of beef other than ground beef that I can find right now that is affordable for a family of 7-8. This recipe, maybe with some rice and broccoli, sounds so good and relatively simple to do for the masses. I bought all the ingredients yesterday that you used in the video without even thinking of using them all together (minus honey and sesame seeds, I still need to get these, was too expensive at the korean farmers market so I will check aldi) Thank you!
Onions also contains an enzyme that tenderise meats. Onion juice is used a lot in marinades for kebabs in the middle east, I have also seen koreans use it for marinades.;)
I followed your recipe last night and it came out amazing!!!! My boyfriend and I gobbled it up. Thank you!!! You've given me motivation again to cook. This recipe reminds me of the bulgogi from Korean Church made by Korean Grandmas. This recipe was easy, light and best of all, didn't cause a mess in the kitchen. Your video was easy to follow and the beginning ingredient introduction is super clear. I'm a visual person and this helps a lot.
Thanks for this video!!!! Totally inspired me to go out & buy the ingredients so I can make this Bulgogi myself, instead of having to go to a Korean restaurant whenever I feel like having it.... I love Bulgogi & I'm so glad to have stumbled onto this video!!!! BTW, I am so pleased to be one of your subscribers.... Love, love, love all your recipes!!!!
This is my bulgogi go to recipe. I started learning how to cook since I moved out of my parents house and this is the first dish I made. 2 years after Im still here
chef I can't tell you how much I enjoy watching your videos - and trying your recipes for friends and family - this one looks amazing, and its a favorite at restaurants. Can't wait to make this dish!
I made this recipe Monday night for dinner - next time I make it I have to DOUBLE or TRIPLE the recipe YES ITS THAT GOOD! My family couldn't get enough. I love that its not too spicy for those in my family that can't handle the heat. It's delicious, the beef is so tender and the carmelization gives a rich deep flavor. This recipe is going in the family cook book.
As a personal chef I have Bulgogi in my rotation often. It's an easy dish with so many variaitions but yours is very similar to mine! I enjoyed your video and loved that your husband got to test your recipes. I'm looking forward to watching your other Korean dishes vids now!
I am so happy I came across your channel. I am cooking challenged but when I try some of your recipes, it comes out so well. There is hope for me after all.
@@ChefJulieYoon Thank you for your reply. I think back of my time in Korea as the best year in my life ever. I made many friends, used Korea as a base camp to explore The East from but also the rich culture of Korea itself and last but not least - the amazing Korean cuisine. Unforgettable. 💖💖💖
This took me back, from the time I was Stationed in Korea. There is nothing better than going to a Bulgogi house. Definitely going to make this recipe.
I made this for my parents and I for dinner tonight. It was really good, thank you for sharing! It was really hard for me to find a bulgogi recipe that didn't use asian pear or plums. It tasted great with honey!
Glad you and your parents enjoyed it. Of course recipes with pears and other fruits serve a purpose, but I found that at least with Bulgogi, it's not absolutely necessary since the cut of meat is so thin. Happy you found it worked for you too!
Thank you for sharing your recipe! I was looking for a bulgogi recipe that wasn't too intimidating and this seems perfect! I just found your channel and your videos are informative, easy to follow and enjoyable to watch. Keep up the great work!
This looks so amazing!!! I had Korean BBQ for the first time a few months ago and it was one of the best meals I've ever had... Ever. I Will be trying this recipe soon! You made it seem so simple and easy... I like the creativity in your videos :) Thanks you Julie!
I love it. I make this every day. My wife gives me hell, because i can't eat red meat every day, so she says. She introduced this plate to me. I said, were did you learn this plate? I saw the video and liked the plate so much, i learned to cook it ! Even bought the Mirin ingredient that was originally not used by my wife. Real good thanks!
Oh my goodness too funny! I'm glad you like it that much! I'm just about to make it this week too...haha. I tend to always keep sliced frozen ribeye in my freezer for bulgogi emergencies. Try it in a taco or quesadilla with melted cheese too...yum!
Muchas gracias!!
I spent a year in Pusan and Bulgogi was my favourite I had it at least 3 times a week it was always cooked in front of you in the restaurants so now im going to give it a try.
Wow! I love your unique and sophisticated recipe! Thanks for sharing yours! I usually make my BulGogi with a much more simple recipe! - From One Korean to Another!
Great video. My husband & I enjoy eating Korean food we ate Bulgogi in a very nice restaurant in Geneva yesterday, now with this recipe I will try to make it at home😊 thank you.
+K Kitchenmom Oh cool! YAY! Just make sure that whatever beef you're using is not too lean or too tough of a cut (like something that's meant to be cooked low and slow). No matter how long you marinate it, if it's a tough cut of meat, it will have a weird texture. Go for Rib-eye, Sirloin, or Tenderloin.
The Bulgogi looked delicious. 😋 Really nice to see season 4 starting with a mouth watering dish. Can't wait to see what recipes you have picked up.You guy's have really good on screen chemistry.😉 ALL THE BEST ON YOUR NEXT EPISODE,👍🏼.
+FunForShez Wow we have good on screen chemistry? Thanks! Joe will be in shock... he REALLY does not enjoy being on camera, but he does it for you guys! :) Glad you think the Bulgogi looks mouthwatering!
I was like salivating. 😋😋😋 Tell Joe that don't worry, relax & just be himself, what ever he is doing is working.👍🏼 Maybe switch it up one day & let him try to cook something for the viewer! just a thought.😉
You are such a cool compere. You wooed me into giving this a go. I've eaten it at lots of restaurants but always wanted to entertain guests at home. Kind of the same as Japanese sukiyaki. Thanks for giving me the confidence :-)
+fuschiafeline13 yeah this theme has been requested for some time now, but I was too intimidated to try to figure out the recipes for Korean cooking since it's usually passed down with no real written measurements!
We tried this tonight but we sub'd shaved chicken instead of the beef...and it was AWESOOOME!!!! Thanks for sharing the recipe! We can't wait to try another one :D
What is the two tablespoons of "marin" the sweet rice cooking sauce? Did not see that in your ingredients list at the start of the video. Cant wait to try it, once I get that last ingredient!
It's mirin which is a sweet cooking wine that is popular in Korean and Japanese cooking. They usually sell it near the vinegars and corn syrups in the Asian supermarket. If you can't find it, you can substitute with a sweet sherry.
I remember bringing it into school for culture day and NOBODY ate it because they were scared about what it was... but times were different back then and people had no idea what Korea was.
Have I ever commented before? This is my go-to recipe base for Bulgogi beef now, and he loooooves it. Been using this video for years! Ty so much 🫶🏾

If you can't find it, you can substitute with a sweet sherry.

my Korean teacher made us this and it is so delicious especially because my race is white and it was my first time😍
