The fact that combat stats and difficult/mechanics of the mob are not accounted for in xp is abysmal. Fighting Ripper dinos for example should give more xp/h than doing Abby demons that do 1 hp of damage every 3 years.

Currently training my combat and bumped on your Malee tutorial, but yeah damn it absolutely sucks to train any combat stat except for necro at this point in time.
First 60 levels in regular triangle styles if you are questing are fairly fast for a member. Then there is 60-85 slog which is also some of the most crucial levels power wise and that needs some extra methods or xp tweaks. That being said that is literal tip of an iceberg of the whole "how to get new players come and stay" thing. Like they literally don't update their steam page if anyone looks there last update was in May, which is insane considering they released a roadmap for upcoming year and a half of content.
Best way for combat for the low lvls is just grind out quests. You get non-combat skills up as well Quests knocked out, which means less requirements for master / grandmaster quests and more areas and pvm unlocks which you definitely are gonna want
Devil's advocate, I had a blast training Necromancy on release by not following the most efficient way to do it. Granted I did have quests completed and other support levels like Slayer/Dungeoneering so it will be different than GIM. Most importantly, 99 defence. I went to did the most obscured methods of training it and honestly enjoyed it. I took that opportunity to learn the tooltips and the interactions with the abilities. I prioritized a combination of money making and combat xp together instead of afk combat. I looted everything because that's what I do. It didn't feel slow either but if I wanted to do it faster, I could've done it but then I would have to fight for the same spots that most people would do because they are told it's the most "efficient". Now of course I forgot everything about Necromancy so that lost the purpose. (Okay, fine I mostly went and slaughtered dragons and picked up their bones & hides and sold them. No aggression potions)
Totally agree. Friend recently tried to come back and play with me and boss but realized he needed a lotta levels, which I helped with. He ended up stop logging in after about 2 weeks because he was so bored because everything is so afk. Literally citing that everything is afk and he was wondering when he'd finally get to "play the game". I feel like they could have came up with a more creative idea to counter the bots, such as loot being "locked" or worthless unless the first boss was killed. Or like you said a dungeoneering level req. Not just completely destroy an active method. Oh well
In terms of the plot, ED3 should always have required Pieces O' Hate. I think it would have made sense from a gameplay perspective as well. This may seem non sequitur, but consider all the occasions in game progression that you've had to go underwater. It's not the most common undertaking, but when it does happen it's a large one-you kinda know that making diving equipment is going to require a bunch of weird things, any mage who knows waterbreathing magic will be busy, &c. A pirate from the Eastern Lands gives you the permanent ability to breathe water in that area after you beat the quest boss in Pieces O' Hate (who is HARD). I did many trash runs to level Invention with randoms from basically everywhere across early mid to endgame-there was a question I'd always ask during rare downtime inside ED3 when trash running, and it still feels *significant* that the majority of answers were "No". "Did you notice we're underwater?"
I will never understand why the made bosses half exp. I do think combat training is still extremely fast with the right methods, and I dont think people understand just how fast 500k+ exp an hour is for a combat stat is compared to what it has been in the past. There are several 1m+ exp an hour methods still in the game that can be min maxed to over 2m exp an hour if you have the right set up.
combat training is very fast once you realize a platypus pet can act as a blocked tile (safespot) and then you use AOE abilities, and at very high lvl you just camp armoured phantoms forever using this simple trick.
ED3 xp was a blessing for osrs players coming to rs3, it let them get to PVM so much faster, when they axed the XP im now wondering if my osrs friends will stick around to try GIM
Afking is why most people play rs3, not everyone has a lot of time to actively play the game, I afk most of my exp grinds and I do questing/bossing when I have time to play
i was saying at the time the ed3 was nerfed that it was a bad idea. yes trash runs were not ideal and would get boring, but helped new players a lot and nerfinng them whitout giving a new solution was ASS. i wish since they nerfed ed3, they would buff the ammount of dungeonering expe you get by completing dungeons by a lot, so it would be viable dungeonering training method.
I always found it strange that elite dungeons had no dung req and more importantly werent a viable trianing method for dung. Shouldn't be BIS but 200k ish an hour? idk something that is meangful enough
@@ChevalricRS it was even nerfed when they nerfed loot from ed3 if i remmeber correctly. i think maybe 300k eke 1/5 of active dungeonering would be nice. would make them more popular for sure. maybe extra bonus for zammy one?
Scurrius (osrs) like boss would be alot more fitting for combat training with enhanced xp multiplier, ED3 trash runs didnt really teach the player anything
Arch-Glacor is doable from very low levels and gives quite a lot of loot, enough hitpoints for big combat xp drops but I don't think there's any multiplier, and who in the 40s-60s combat stats part of the game is going to know about the Elder God Wars dungeon and find the thing without someone convincing them to come along?
hot take: they should've let ed3 how it was in early 2022. people complained and moaned that it brought too much xp and money. but bonds were less than 1/3 of what they are now and you could join your friends in pvm fast. Now you stuck killing dregs for hours like it was 2005.
