    I think Zach Orr also deserves some credit for being willing to accept help when he was struggling as a rookie DC with no prior play calling experience, and it was good of the Ravens to be pretty patient with Orr like they were when Macdonald struggled a bit early on, but not just leave him to sink or swim on his own when it wasn't working. One of the moves the Ravens made that doesn't get mentioned a lot was bringing former DC Dean Pees back as an advisor mid-season.

    Williams is only 28. Not that old. The dude just looked absolutely lost in coverage. There were multiple big plays he gave up against the Bengals specifically where he was completely out of position. Its wild how a veteran safety can look that bad this often

      Ravens need versatile players and Marcus was just a true free safety. Not really sure why the ravens ever picked him up

      @@anthonyanderson9303I mean Elliot couldn't stay healthy for the Ravens. And then he went to multiple different teams on small one year deals. So it's not like he was coveted or good/healthy enough to invest money into. Williams was at the time.

    I think what Zach Orr had to learn (and was probably helped by the mid season addition of Vet Def. coordinator Dean Pees) is that you can’t just pickup from what you were doing last year and expect it to just work.

    Putting Marlon in the slot and Ardarius Washington stepping up big time. Williams either looked banged up or disinterested

    the blitz and sim pressure reduction tracks with the simplification of the defense. like a simple marinana sauce- don't jazz it up and add in unnecessary flourishes, just perfect execution of a simple gameplan. kinda like SEA LOB

    Marcus Williams athletic ability isn’t an issue. He just completely failed to buy into to Orrs defense. He was completely lost.

    • @winners_when_1
      @winners_when_1 23 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +5

      Exactly! That plus his lack of physicality/apprehension to tackle post shoulder injury.
      These PFF talking heads are clueless. They literally said that Marlon Humphrey had issues with not wanting to play the run. It is literally what he lives for, to be physical. All you had to do is watch 1 complete game that the man has ever played since college to see that.

    • @darnellmiller1215
      @darnellmiller1215 23 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      @Fergieh8er12 The Ravens revised his deal setting up a post June 1st designation and he will most likely be released, then, but his benching had nothing to do with him not buying in to what Orr is doing, he just simply wasn't playing well. Hell, he wasn't playing particularly great under MacDonald last season.

      Consider getting Tre’davious White more snaps for Brandon Stephens, particularly on 3rd down. As good as Stephens is at staying in phase, he just doesn’t find the ball. I know it’s difficult but it’s leading to too many penalties and big plays outside. White has been real solid with his snaps

    • @terpy-j7x
      @terpy-j7x 13 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      None. I think we've dialed in at the perfect time. Keep the penalties down, win the turnover battle, and play like the better team.

  • @RoLive95
    @RoLive95 23 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

    But also the 2 times we played the bengals is when we were mugging, over blitzing, over disguising. Orr was doing way too much and LBs & Safeties were lost. U notice since the bye we simplified the D. Less blitz less mugg less rotation. The way we play now MWill cud do.
