If you want another recent MV that's not as hectic but has a killer hard rock groove, you need to go to "Manners" next.

Check out warning! I’m really split on which song really hyped me for their latest album since even though afterlife mv came later, the song was released ahead of album. But for me when I first heard warning I was like omg this album is gonna be great and I wasn’t disappointed. Also the MV itself IMO is their best

Yeah, they can do the organized chaos thing well, many layers to their arrangements - most of which keeps us coming back. Band Maid do have several gears, each still with a distinctive Band Maid feel. There are a few songs that take no prisoners in that first ten seconds or so. Even then, their layering and distinct contribution from each member of the band can be appreciated. I simply love the range of their songs, and the evolution and exploration of styles.

I'm surprised you didn't like the start of the song. I personally thought it was a great lead in to the main riff. Anyway, this is just one of the many great songs in this new album. You should check out "Warning! and "Manners" next.

I definitely will. I think the start for me just felt too muddled. Glad you enjoyed it though. The main riff is so so good.

I agree. I like Afterlife. But out of the three recent "rocker" releases ("After Life", "Warning", "Manners".....their latest, "About Us", is a ballad), it's my least favorite. My favorite one of the three is "Manners" it has a killer groove.

I am well up for a ballad!!

@@snakewhisperer1Honestly I can't decide which song I like out of the three. But as far as MV, "Warning!" takes the cake and "After Life" life last.

Nice reaction and like some of B-M songs, the beginning is sometimes a bit chaotic, but a second listen can help your ears sift out the complex arrangements and it becomes more interesting and how it matches with the whole.

The cafe in the first scene is where Miku (rhythm guitar and vocals), the founder of the band, worked. There is a picture on the wall. The theme of the music video is Miku's experience and the band's current homage. The maids, cleaners and managers that appear are traced to the band's members. It is the order of joining the band.
Miku wanted to be a singer, dropped out of college, moved to Tokyo from Kumamoto, and worked at a maid cafe for about half a year until she became a member of an idol group. She realized the idea of forming a band playing hard rock in maid outfits after the idol group broke up unsold. At first, it wasn't very popular and there was talk of dissolution, but the goal was to aim for the world as the Thrill music video was played 10 million times around the world. And it continues to evolve until now. Curiously, it is still highly evaluated overseas than in Japan.

It sounds "weird" at first because it's unfamiliar. it gets better the more you listen. The video is distracting though. I prefer it without the video. Also, as many have suggested, check out my fav "Manners"

Should check out Warning from their official channel. That and alot of the songs on their new album are better than this one imo. The live version of After Life is much better, but you'll have a hard time finding a link.
