Thank you for this video! We leave in 2 days to Aulani and I’ve been watching some reviews to set our expectations and not miss out on anything and yours felt like the most honest and realistic. 😊 Appreciate all the advice!
Our family of 5 visited Aulani for 9 days in August 2024 and thankfully we had a 1 bedroom DVC Villa that had a full kitchen. Restaurant meals cost a lot so a quick drive to Costco down the highway saved a lot of money.
It sounds like you had a fantastic trip! A full kitchen really does make a difference when you're traveling with the whole family. Glad you found a way to save on meals!
We want to stay for 7 nights at Aulani and want to do a couple day trips. I heard you mention that there’s car rentals on site but what would you suggest for arrival/departure out of the Honolulu airport, and stopping to get some groceries for our stay. Like you, trying to be economical with our spending. And what was the cost for these type of things? We are a family of 3. Thanks!
Can I recommend you use a travel agent that specializes in these kinds of trips. Lisa is a travel agent with Stress Free Magic Travel specializing in Disney. At no cost to you she would design your trip with your budget needs in mind. stressfreemagictravel.com/team/lisa/
Thanks for the info. I always take some cash in case credit card fails or we end up at a market/food truck that is not setup for cards. Happy to see the ABC store is a quick walk.
Great content thank you - The envelopes of made me smile - we use card BUT wife wants cash for Tipping, small "market" / business purchases - so card yes, envelope of cash yes 😀 we love Makahiki just fun - yes Disney pricing on all food and merch. Island country market (ABC Store) is a great Idea to get food and snacks. also there are a few restaurants there also. We have a trip planned Nov. 2024 so thank you for your content - Cheers Aloha
That’s so exciting, hope the weather treats you well. Maybe a little rain but that will only bring the lush greens of the island to another level. Thanks for watching.
Yes there is Uber, Lyft, and Holoholo (local ride share). There are also options like Charley’s Taxis, Hello Cab, and The Cab. During our trip, we took Charley’s Taxis from Waikiki to Aulani. We also did an Uber from Aulani to Honolulu (cruise terminal). Have a great trip, guys!

Good call on having some cash just in case. Nothing worse than smelling that food truck food and having no way to pay for it. Yeah, ABC is so close.

As fellow Canadians, how was the jet lag? We are coming in from the East coast...
Fortunately we are on the west coast and didn’t have to deal with the jet lag. Nothing the lazy river can’t fix though. 😉😂
I’m a cash girl for trips 💵🙋🏼♀️
Lisa will be thrilled she’s not alone!
Any uber or Lyft in Oahu?
Following this. Not trying to pay for a rental and that $40 a night parking.
