It’s very accurate , some parts are speculative but the series is based off of ‘Vulgar Favors’ which is the most accurate/factual book to date that chronicles the life and crimes of cunanan.(the author interviews hundreds of people for the book and was writing articles for vanity fair as the murders were happening). Andrew did meet Versace in 91’, this is corroborated by numerous people who saw them talking briefly and also attended the same event .
Most of the details are accurate. The bloody photo, the guy running for the camera, him getting shot in his door ofc and one of his friends almost getting andrew in the alley, Versace's sister not liking the fiance. Idk about the bird tho. Oh and the panflets in the car are too, basically to show how incompetent the cops were back then but mostly due to their lack of care of a man killing gay men they only started to care when he killed someone famous. The only thing that's not accurate because no one knows is that andrew and Versace knew each other but the show does a pretty good job leaving it vague, you could believe that its andrew that wants to have known him
At the crime scene , a dove was found dead and adjacent from Gianni’s body. It was killed by bullet fragments from the first shot, this lead the police to believe that the murder may have been mafia related. Once they found William Reese’s red pick up truck in a parking garage with Andrew clothes, belongings (which included newspaper clippings of the previous murders..creepy)detectives put two and two together. In regards to Versace..even though there’s not photographic or tangible evidence that substantiates their connection, numerous people who attended the opera in 91’ corroborated the fact that they were seen briefly talking. Maureen Orth(author of Vulgar Favors, the novel the series is based upon) adamantly believes that the two met on that one occasion and that the sources she interviewed were credible. Imo, it’s very likely that they crossed paths once and that short encounter was the extent of their interaction.
To tie back to glee, in season 1 Emma was telling Will how she met up with an old high school flame Andy and then a few months later Versace was dead so I guess Emma pillsbury dated Andrew Cunanan lmao
April i think it’s the Rhodes not taken or whenever April’s first episode was. They’re in Emma’s office and Emma says that when will is telling her about april
I love this show but i sometimes find it difficult to keep track of the timeline because they like to jump around a lot so you really need to watch the dates otherwise you’ll get confused
Dude- I'm so glad you are doing this. If i were you I would do season one. I don't know who you are getting your info from, but Season one is amazing. It only won at 12 Emmys to this season's 7.. I love both seasons equally. They are very well done. I would not miss season one. lucky it doesn't matter what order you watch it...
you should do People vs. OJ as well cuz its amazing too and the guy who plays ross (david schwimmer) from friends is in that one. Thats just a plus lmao.
