You do have to spend some time setting the saw up... blade, fence, etc. But once done, the saw is great. Fairly compact which is Nice th-cam.com/users/postUgkxXh-4_3-ZT1fFWP91ZV7iVqzElr0lEb-a I did get an Incra Miter Gauge which takes some setup as well. The stock miter gauge can be adjusted in the miter slot with a little painter's tape... this tightens up the side to side play a lot.
Absolutely amazing walk through. I found one of these at the dump yesterday in amazing working condition. I was going to make a video on the find but couldn't work out what certain things were for etc. You set me straight. Thanks for your help 👍
The saw needs final adjustment when delivered. The "marks" on the nut holding the blade on are supposed to be there. Any nut with these knicks indicates its a left hand thread.
I really enjoyed your video. I’ve had the same saw for years . I got it as a hand me down from my brother so a few bits were missing, it was awesome that you went through everything. I had no idea what the circulate plastic mechanism was under the bench on the left . It’s just a storage device 😲. I didn’t get any of the under bench attachments when I got it, so I was thinking it was some kind of protractor tool 🤦. I just cut square cuts so never really investigated it . Now the mystery is solved . Thankyou for your precise dedication to discovering the whole tool.
Thank you for the excellent review. A friendly correction, the circuit breaker does not protect against overheating, it protects against electrical faults, for example if you overload the saw or the motor gets jammed, it will trip off the breaker, instead of burning the motor
Thank you for the review !! i was looking for some reviews like this and you are the only one !! the saw is perfect for a lot of works, will try to buy it :)
I bought that saw 4 months ago, the quality is really very poor, thanks to several people on TH-cam I have been able to improve it, it is misaligned from the factory, 0.85mm, I recommend that you take a good look, all the videos that I have seen speak ill of the machine.good luck.
I enjoyed your unique reviewing style. Well done and entertaining. I'm a Makita fan and I have many Makita tools, but that saw looks sloppy. The fact that it's made in China also turns me off. I'm in no mood for Chinese made products these days. I'm very happy to pay more for better quality, made in a different country.
I agree, I’m a huge Makita fan but it seems that you have to be a mechanical engineer to understand all of the idiosyncrasies of this saw as the man making the video was able to show all of the flaws of this saw, but the average guy like me would never know to look for all these things. I want to spend the money to buy a good table saw and have it working out of the box, not have to retrofit the whole darn thing, file down poorly fitted pieces. The video was terrific, but I’m very disappointed in Makita having a saw w/ a lot of slop in it and other things not lining up or being correct.
@@rkfarmranch8214 I am a wood machinist and I work on a $250,000 saw and you always have to set a saw up properly or the company that supplies the saw will do it, but no saw comes reedy to use and if you don't understand how to set these up than you should not be using one because they are like a mongrel dog and they will bite you if you if you don't respect them. I see untrained people using these and I know they will loose fingers soon, even my Father, my Brother and myself have lost fingers on table saws. They are not toys.
I haven't tried that, but with the correct blade I suppose it should be OK. The saw has plastic components also, so be cautious not to melt something with the metal sparks.
i have one and I'm stuck with it. The best bit is the cart. The saw itself is crappy. The fence is poor. The mitre slide wobbles by about 4 degrees. The slide slot is non-standard and you can't source a good aftermarket slider that will fit in the slot. The riving knife doesn't allow you to cut slots. The knife itself has to be cut down to get rid of the safety guide attachement protrusion. Mine doesn't have soft start and I wish it had. The hard start is really harsh and I'm always waiting for the worse to happen. Dust collection is really, really poor and there is no easy way of improving that. I'm making improvements and mods to mine, but the expense is adding up and I wish I bought something better right from the start. this is not Makita's best effort. At bests, this is a mediocre job saw for rough carpentry work on site.
You did a great overview of the saw in this video, but that saw looks horrendous and far far below any quality I would want in my shop. Thank you for the video.
Nothing wrong with made in China per se. This is made to a price point. The China brand is wide ranging in quality. From your Apple iPad through to cheap tatty toys. It just depends what you want to pay for.
Best review I've seen for a table saw yet, thanks very much for taking the time to film it!

Amazing review. Covers all the parts in great detail.
Thank you.
Based on your review we are buying one.
Wow I couldn't have asked for more in a review 😍
Got job explaining this saw. Now I have to find a place to buy one.

@@furulevi circuit breakers do not protect from overheating, thermal fuses and thermal switches do
Nice, detailed explanation. What did you do to stop the wobble of the blade and the misaligned of the black metal behind the blade?
Great overview, all with one hand, too 😅. Thanks a lot!
Good review and a great presentation of the saw. Thank you.
Thank you. Great review. Can you put a dado blade on it?
I can't find any information on the motor horsepower, did you find this out before buying the Makita's saw.
Where do I by one of these and what is the cost?

@@We_Dance-4-You buddy there are some serious issue I have mentioned in my comment above, been using this for 4 years now.
@@We_Dance-4-You A bit harsh.
What is the electronic brake???
This table saw , feels great.
100N is the new version, what is the difference with the older model?
Thanks man.Nice review!
the wood pusher thing 🤣

Is there nowadays something/anything made in other countries than China? :)
@@furulevi It's not easy. Makita for example make some of their products in Japan and other countries, but more seem to be made in China these days.

Thanks. Great review. Regarding 2704 whats the main deferente?, price here is double... Thanks again for your excellent work.
I'm not sure right now, but this has soft-start and a forward-backward sliding table on the left side also.
Thanks for the review, very informative.
Cum se comporta masina dupa 1 an de folosire? Mai are jocul ala la disc? Eu am gasit acelasi model la 1925 lei si as vrea sa o cumpar...
In ultima vreme nu am taiat nimic cu el, dar cand l-am folosit functiona bine fara absolut nici o problema.
Great! Thank you
Nice review thanks👊🏻
Can you cut aluminium with this?
I haven't tried that, but with the correct blade I suppose it should be OK. The saw has plastic components also, so be cautious not to melt something with the metal sparks.
You need a triple chip blade for cutting alloy and rub wax down the line where you are going to cut, but the saw will cut it.
Splendid review! Thank You so much!
How much
Hi how much cost of this I need to buy
Thanks for this review!

MLT100N should have soft start and brake, maybe you have a different model.
@@furulevi Yes, mine is a bit older. They didn't have that option then.
Salut, cum sta pe partea de precizie?
Sincer nu l-am folosit mult, si nu am folosit si altele sa am cu ce sa-l compar, dar era destul de OK.
